Awesome is the word. These pictures are absolutely beautiful. If this is representative of China then China should be in the top 5 prosperous countries in the World. Something puzzles me though, If you look at pictures of Indian cities, the dirt and poverty is quite apparent however, looking at the Chinese cities, one would think there is absolutely no poverty so can someone tell me honestly, is there no poverty in China? Are there no poor people or slums? If there are, why no pictures? Where do the middle class and poor live in China?

duskdawn
June 26th, 2007, 07:30 AM
^^ The poor exist in China of course. Actually one of the most crucial problems China has is the disparity of wealth distribution. People in some rural area are still extremely poor. But I assume it is improving. However you can be sure that China has less poverty and less slums than say India.
Check my sig if you would like more eye candies. I mean both cities and girls. lol

Please don't flame the thread, this thread is really nice. And I am pretty sure China does not want to be superpower or anything like the western media make it out to be, she just want her people to have decent lives, create a well off society.

LOL. . . a texan what do you expect from them?

Romans use to say "They're the greatest empire and race" and look what happened thousands of years later, never say never.

America is the greatest country on planet earth ACCORDING TO YOU. I live in America and I never thought it was the greatest country. Diversity doesn't necessarily give you a superior culture infact American culture is so diluted it lacks identity. Precisely what food does US give to the world? Nothing really besides hamburgers and hotdogs. Most of American cuisine is either fusion, Italian and a mixture of European and of course Asian.

200yrs of existence and you're already cocky. Most countries existed thousands of years. You need to travel more, I bet you've never gone outside of Texas LOL. . . .

I agree, For a start, Britain is beter then america... And this is the usual bull shit american attitude i see so much, In my opinion, China already is beter then the USA, They have a great history ( Unlike america ) and out number you 10 to 1. And there are many more things i could say too, But i dont want to start a huge row so i wont mention anymore, But americans would be running around with spears like savages if it wasent for britain collanising you, So dont you dare think you are something special, I look forward to seeing china rise, These are wonderfull pictures. I love Shenyang. Flat city with endless cheap midrises. So easily convertible into a modern metropolis (already happening). They are building more than 50 towers taller than 200m including 12 300m+. But Shenyang tallest existing tower has only 188m!

This also has a nice history .This is where the mukden incidnet happened . Which many historians mark as the begining of world war 2 that lasted for a decade.

^^ You mean the battle of Mukden? But it took place three decades before WW2 started.

I must say people do get bogged down with trivialities: history, number and height of skyscrapers; as if they make a difference.
