manila_eye February 24th, 2009, 10:08 PM I think smart has already an office in BGC. im not sure though.
flymordecai February 25th, 2009, 02:31 AM Oh, I meant an exclusive HQ office building for them.
I think once the PSEi has relocated to BGC more corporations will flock to build office buildings in BGC/North Bonifacio.

ryanr February 26th, 2009, 04:23 AM ^yes
six453 February 27th, 2009, 04:57 PM in what orientation is the tower facing? towards the 32nd avenue? anybody got a clue?
thomasian February 28th, 2009, 06:12 AM ^^ It seems to me that 32nd Avenue would be the street behind.
hmm.. At 3,094 sq.m., that would be two lots, so tama yung label sa map which is actually composed of two lots as far as I know. That would be around as wide as Net Quad though the design would make it look a lot less massive. Beautiful.
Jude12 March 1st, 2009, 02:05 PM Ganda ganda. :okay:

Globe putting up HQ in Global City
Philippine Daily Inquirer

Filed Under: Construction & Property, Telecommunications Equipment
MANILA, Philippines—Globe Telecom begins construction of its new corporate headquarters at the Bonifacio Global City through a simple ceremonial kick-off led by Ayala Corp. president and COO Fernando Zobel de Ayala and Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu.
The new Globe HQ, to rise at the corner of 32nd and 7th Avenues in the Bonifacio Global City, stands on a 3,094-square-meter lot and will have 27 floors with floor area of more than 70,000 square meters. Designed with an innovative mix of traditional and modern aesthetics, the new head office will also house the Consumer Village which will showcase the latest offers, innovations and milestones from Globe.
The building is scheduled for completion in 2013.
“Employee morale and productivity is directly impacted by the physical workplace. We made it a point to have the design team consult employees on what would make their office a great environment to work in. This building is also a testament to Globe going green—our commitment to environmental sustainability. For our customers, it is a symbol of the customer-friendly and customer-driven focus that Globe has been integrating into its operations,” said Cu.
Globe has partnered with affiliate Ayala Land, Aidea Integrated Design, Aromin & Sy, Davis Langdon & Seah, the Meinhardt Group, and IA Campbell & Associates for the project.

I present a bigger and value-engineered version of the rendering.
Notice how the left side now has glass-colored concrete spandrels instead of a full glass curtain wall on the previous perspective posted.
Different logo too.
I like how the massing of this building makes it look less bulky than it should, considering that it actually stands on two lots.

Jose Mari October 6th, 2012, 05:24 AM ^^ Really disappointed by that cladding. I thought the lower right side would be glassier like with the corners. Instead they're installing the same striped facade like in the diagonal portion.

If you closer, the lower right side is not the same blue & gray striped facade of the diagonal portion. It's a blue glass & blue aluminum facade. It is only a gray covering of the blue aluminum that will be removed when the building is finished.

I can't see it but I hope you're right though it's still not as glassy as the corners like in the renders.

dunamis October 7th, 2012, 11:57 PM Globe tower will stick with the original design. As you can see, the stickers are falling off the sides which reveals the darker shade of glass of Globe Tower.
3cr October 8th, 2012, 08:23 PM Looking Good! Don't seem like they deviated from the original design. It looks, atleast to me, like the original design when all those protective coverings are finally removed. :okay: :okay:
wynngd October 9th, 2012, 04:43 AM ^^It does deviate a little from the original design. On the original render, there should be at least two more floors on top instead of concrete walls. But it still a very good addition to BGC's collection of buildings...

Ph Man December 2nd, 2012, 04:13 AM In most cases, renders seem to be glassier than the real product. Could it be because it's easier and cheaper to build a scale model using all glass? I heard that those scale models actually cost a lot.

The Grand Mage December 4th, 2012, 09:00 AM maybe what they're trying to say in the disappointment is that the cladding should be shinier? i was somehow disappointed when i saw the glass as i compared it to the rendering. but it is still very good.. good job

reign January 3rd, 2013, 12:59 AM I'm so disappointed with the outcome. In the render the height of the glass is almost the same as the white aluminum cladding (middle portion) as compares to the actual in which they reduced the height of the glass thus doubling the height of tha cladding.
It looks ugly.

Na-extend pa yung white stripes tapos tinipid talaga sa glass dun sa gray part... nag mukang cheap. Para tuloy may podium din samantalang yung sa render eh elegant columns like with Zuellig that's topped with glass. And of course there's my pet peeve since the start which is the thicker horizontal white stripes.

What about that extended white stripe that ruined the triangle and that gray part? Is it only at the back? My point was glass topped columns. It doesn't matter to me if they still have those columns if it's only gonna be topped by non-glass cladding (aluminum or concrete... whateva :D ).

^^ Oh I see what you are saying. Yup I agree it does look better in the render when they had glass all the way down the building.
skyscraper2012 March 30th, 2013, 05:14 PM Actually if you look closely at the render, you'll see that the first five floors above the podium have grills. above it are glass windows na. faithful naman pala siya sa render imo. napagkamalan lang na glass yung lower floors when in fact halata naman sa dami ng white lines na grills siya. :)
http://i45.tinypic.com/zujpeh.png
3cr March 30th, 2013, 08:08 PM ^^ Mmm... OK guess you're right in that the original building design didn't really have glass all the way down even in the render to begin with but just that somehow the render still gave that overall perception of a glassier building when looking at it compared to the actual. Looks like that it's more dissimulated in the render compared to than that of how it actually came out in fruition. It blended better in the render but did not come out that way in actuality. It's really just more noticable in reality which makes the render look better than that of the actual building. But then again how often do buildings actually come out better than it's render diba. Hardly Rarely... Still, it's definitely a good addition to BGC.
Jose Mari March 31st, 2013, 03:19 AM Actually di naman masagwa yung "grills" sa closeup eh. It's better than aluminum cladding or painted concrete. :) Sana may pic ng ground floor. Mas maganda pa rin kung dineretso yung glass pababa.

Based on Globe's press release last 7/25/2010, the building will be completed in 37 months so the latest date of completion is 8/25/2013. Based on the latest pics, said target date is quite possible.

skyscraper2012 April 12th, 2013, 11:01 AM i think it is ok. kung taller siya parang hindi magiging pantay yung slanted portion kasi mas lalaki ang vacant space sa blue portion.

I also think it's ok. A unique shape is better than the regular box tower.

^^ When the Ayala group changed BGC's city grid from the original circular one (rotunda type) designed by IM Pei for the MetroPacific group to a city block type to accommodate Ayala's Boni HighStreet strip mall, in effect nagmukhang bakod tuloy yung wall of buildings along 32nd Ave. because they all have the same FAR. Para tuloy nagmukhang demarcation line or quasi-boundary yung 32nd Ave separating BGC proper of Ayala and that of Federal Land and MegaWorld's North Boni developments. Hopefully the succeeding buildings to be built on the other side of 32nd Ave going to North Boni will be taller so as to create that desireable V-SHAPE or Staircase form (with Boni High Street the lowest point) so that top portion of the buildings farther down the block will atleast still have some semblance of views and breathing space from the buildings across/in front of them. :)

3cr April 13th, 2013, 10:25 PM ^^ BGC was envisioned as a very walkable pedestrian city to begin with so we can say MetroPacific started them in BGC and Ayala wisely continued the practice when they took over development.
