Please tell me why are we only focusing on tel aviv? we have 12 other coastal cities:
what about nahariya, acco, haifa, keisarya, kiryat yam, hadera, netanya, herzeliya, bat yam, rishon, ashdod, ashkelon?
why focus only on tel aviv in building on the coast and around it?

There is a masterplan calling for 3-4 metropolitan areas in Israel. ( 3-4 because Tel-Aviv, and Jerusalem will merge at some point. ) It's all part of a plan.

I wish all of Israel looked as nice as neve tzedek.. isnt it just amazing that this neighborhood was badly deserted and run down suddenly became the most fashionable upmarket mini-soho of tel aviv?

The first rain this summer??

yes...since april,i think

the first light rain for the coming winter- 05/06 season.

basically there are two seasons in Israel winter and summer.
long hot and dry summer ~april-october
wet and colder winter ~november- march
spring and automn are short and hard to distinguish.

Tel Aviv got some 570 mm of precipitation per winter, the same as London(or Berlin ,Oslo ,Stockholm) got in 12 months time.

that blue squre fountain is in Bnei Braq ,part of the B.S.R towers project , at the corner of Ben Gurion rd. and Aba Hillel rd.

no, never, If a building has a certain facade it will usually have it on all sides, maybe just a bit more fancy on the front, but most buildings in Israel are not attached to other buildings but are "stand alones" in the middle of the plots from the bauhaus legacy perhaps - so no, I think also the building comittees have to approve all facade finishes so if you leave a facade undone they wont approve it or wont give you the entrance approval.

I saw the problem in teheran in your photos and I dont really understand why they let them do this.

you will be amazed what cars you can find here.. it always amazes tourists
to see such a variety because in europe they have mostly european, usa has
mostly japanese/korean/usa cars and east asia has their cars and countries
like us have a mix of everything and yep, even the most expensive cars are
imported on demand.. just a visual symbol of the gaps between rich and poor..

same goes for high-end jeeps, mercedes, bmw etc..

it is CTS but definitely without V, in States CTS cost 30 G's $ in Israel about 350 G's NIS.
the V series in States abot 50 G so do the math how much it will cost in Irsael.

Yes, these houses are nice but they don't fit in Tel Aviv, because the city is so dence and these small houses can only occupied 2\3 familys per structure and except of their good look from above they are simply a wast of space...there are many suburbs around Tel aviv with many houses like these in them....

but these are 19th century and unique!

Awesome thread! I never knew Tel-Aviv is such a nice and interesting city - so little known about it! Does it have a mass transit system or is one planned?

There is a plan to build a light rail system for the whole area that will cost about 10 billion$, but nothing will be bulit untill mid 2006 and it will only end in 2012 so there is time...

Actually they can, few years ago Azriely Towers had a huge Israeli flag lighten on their windows and theyve got complaints that it might hurts the Palestiniens feelings because you can see it from the west bank

Not really the heart of the city. Close to Jaffo...so its really the place you dont care for that much...

though the promenade area ends there...so theres nothing to do from that point on, unless you wanna go to Jaffo

Tel Aviv is STUNNING. the rainbow façade of the Dan Tel Aviv on Hayarkon Street may be a little dated, but the entire seafront and city in general is beautiful.
