Architect: Davis, Brody, and Associates. Developer: William Zerckendorf Jr.
Summary: The gray-clad tower is one of the tallest residential towers in Mid-Manhattan. It was built in 1988, when the area was still regarded as dangerous and low-class. The very existence of that building has been a significant factor in the revival of the Columbus Circle area. Since its completiion more than a dozen other residential towers have risen around it. Central Park Place has an octagonal top that houses its water tower and other maintenance facilities.

Like the use of the grey cladding, but seems very dirty (unless that's the way it's supposed to look). Don't like the octagonal top. Looks nicer from a distance with the setback and occasional balconies.

No way its boring. It is ugly in a fascinating way and pulls it off by being so slim and tall, like an old spinster.
