I am very close to book my new trip. The cheapest airline for my flight is Hainan airlines. To be honest i haven`t heard much about quality and safety of that airline. Should i have any doubts?
I will make a inter China flight with them, too.

Hainan Airlines is better than all the other (mainland) Chinese airlines.

I thought Air China is the best, because the goverment uses the airline, too.
My route
Frankfurt ---> Berlin ---> Beijing ---> Chongqing

All the Chinese airlines are pretty safe, Air China had three major incidents in its 50 year history, which is a pretty good record. however when it comes to service, they leave much to be desired.
in terms of service the consensus is (from best to worst), hainan->china southern->air china->china eastern. though I have good experiences with CA and MU.
if ticket is cheap, go for it, I don't think you have much to worry about, don't expect anything extraordinary though, it's certainly no SQ or CX
EDIT: On wiki it says Hainan uses A330-200 for Beijing-Berlin route with PTV installed on every seat, I also checked their website, they are indeed incident free so far (only established for 18 years though), sounds good value to me...
