Surprised to not see any thread on this very important and revenue churning cottage industry among MP forums.

Maybe because there is such a shortage on either info or pics on this vital & high demand industry. So all related info & pics would be good.

excellent quality n wonderful designs!!! i wonder why iranian carpets are more famous than ours?? or are they the same??? i think iranian, afghan n pakistani carpets r the same thing, aren't they....

I have an Isfahani carpet and it's nothing like the carpets you usually see. It's also about 50 times more expensive. Can probably buy a small house if I sell it. If that counts as a Persian carpet, then no, they aren't like Paki carpets.

There are mind boggling diversity in the designs, knots, quality of wools/silk.

Pakistanis are good but Persian still have the upper hand, as they have a widespread industry and every Iranian area has its own style & stamp.

Then comes all others like Turkish, Bulgarians, Afghanis, Kashmiris, Pakistani, Indian etc (Not political but regional names)

They generally stick to their historic influences or regional motifs.

These are not the best quality carpets of pakistan!!
