A path leads visitors to the discovery of France around the 7 senses: the five known (sight, touch, hearing, smell and taste) but also the movement and balance. These last two lines are very important in Chinese culture.

The building will get a 250 seats auditorium and exhibition rooms

The French architect Jacques Ferrier wanted to create a building for a "sensual city. 98% of visitors are Chinese. The pavilion, with its gardens and its exhibition halls, will make visitors discover the art of French lifestyle.

Qui finance ?

La participation de la France à l'exposition universelle de Shanghai coûtera autours de 50M€, financé de moitié par l'Etat, de l'autre par un consortium d'entreprises du CAC40.

"Ce pavillon que la France souhaite pérenne coûtera 50 millions d’euros. "J’ai obtenu 25 millions de l’Etat, les autres 25 millions seront financés par des entreprises" explique José Frèches. C’est le Pdg du groupe Lafarge, Bruno Lafont, qui préside l’association de financement du pavillon de la France, chargée de solliciter les entreprises du CAC 40 mais également les PME. "Les entreprises seront donc propriétaires de ce pavillon et je souhaite que cette affaire soit rentable à terme pour ces entreprises" poursuit José Frèches."
