I love these 2 fraternal (non-identical) twins, in the flesh, I mean cladding and they are soooo photogenic. So truly innovative for the modern scraper.

In architectural circles in Australia, it is commonly understood with humour that they are like koalas hugging trees from behind, as they do so with all 4 paws.

Huh?.......huh?

The twins, a very well desreved 9.5! The cute koala though, of course a 10 ;)

I love Lippo Centre! One (two) of the Hong Kong landmarks. The towers look hightech to me, dunno why.. maybe because I pictured them like chips on a mainboard.

Interesting story about the koalas.. it makes sense.

My all time favourite mid-rise towers.

Yes they do look like koalas hugging a tree which always makes me laugh, but I see a more high-tech appeal when i view them. Photogenic in the extreme, too much is never enough, these are just perfect to me.

BTW Lippo was originally Bond Centre I think and was commissioned by the then rich Australian Alan Bond, the 80s saw his heady decadent ways in full flight before finacial misdealings saw him goaled. Sydney lost out on a keystone tower in the late 80s that would have been just as spectacular as this, due to stock market crash and problems with his business empire I believe.

I love them they could have been another 100 metres or so in height though.

The problem with Lippo is that it is tucked behind the main skyline, so it's not very visible from Kowloon. From the Peak, it is overshadowed by other nearby giants such as the Bank of China and Cheung Kong. The best locations to view this skyscraper are within the city itself - along the Queensway off Pacific Place and along the pedestrian bridges from Citic near Tamar.
