Finde mich ganz ähnlichem, inneren Konflikt ausgesetzt.

You always going to get the negative view from some where, Im sure Germany had their fair share of it, but its one of the things we going to have to deal with. There will be more police on duty thats for sure. Im also there that petty crime will be rife, but that will be purely due to negligence

Johannesburg have the uglyest stadium in the world! Very ugly from outside, but beautiful inside.

Mo Rush April 15th, 2010, 08:10 PM First IRT service on track for World Cup
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4042/4517628796_957b79511f_b.jpg
With less than 90 days to go before kick off, the whistle has blown for the World Cup. For Capetonians, the event represents an opportunity for the city to showcase all it has to offer, and for residents to reap the lasting benefits.
One of these will be the beginning of a world-class public transport service that will offer residents and visitors a greater choice and an opportunity to get out of frustrating traffic congestion and poor transport and into a quality public transport service.
The first taste of the City’s Integrated Rapid Transit (IRT) system will be during the World Cup, when a transit service will be operational for 49 days from 29 May 2010 to 16 July 2010. Part of this service will be provided using IRT buses, in addition to other buses and taxis and the train service.
The service will be made up of a regular service that will operate daily, together with a match-day service, for the days on which matches are played at Cape Town Stadium. The customised buses that have been ordered for the IRT, and which are currently being completed, will be used for a part of the World Cup transport service.
These will include seven 12-metre buses that will provide a service from the airport to the Civic Centre. The fare for this service will be R50 and the buses have been designed with extra space for visitors to take suitcases and luggage on board. This service will be operational 24 hours a day throughout the World Cup.
Once visitors arrive at the Civic Centre IRT station they will be able to connect to their final destinations making use of an inner-city bus service, hotel shuttles or metered taxis. The airport shuttle will continue after the World Cup, with the buses making use of the BMT lane from the airport.
IRT buses differ from other buses in that they have a high platform, with level boarding from specially designed stations.
Three stations will be operational for the World Cup – the Civic Centre, Airport and Stadium. On match days articulated 18- and 12-metre buses will take spectators from the Civic Centre to the Stadium and back again.
http://i6.cmail1.com/ei/y/62/8F3/B18/225125/images/irtstation.jpg The IRT station at Cape Town International Airport is almost ready for fans. The match day service will start six hours before kick off and continue for four hours after the final whistle, with buses departing every three to five minutes.
These match day services will continue after the World Cup as an event service whenever Cape Town Stadium is used for events.
The operator of the World Cup service is a new company that has been formed by transport operators that have been offering a range of transport services in the Cape Town city bowl. This company will be one of the operators that the City will contract with to offer the IRT service after the World Cup. http://i7.cmail1.com/ei/y/62/8F3/B18/225125/images/irtstation2.jpg ABOVE & BELOW: The new IRT station that will service Cape Town Stadium. http://i10.cmail1.com/ei/y/62/8F3/B18/225125/images/irtstation3.jpg
p2bsa April 16th, 2010, 09:27 PM apparently DURBAN IS NOW SOLD OUT FOR 2010 WORLD CUP TICKETS. But with FIFA you never know.. :|
FIFA: Semifinals, final of WCup sold out
(AP) – 1 hour ago
JOHANNESBURG — Some 100,000 World Cup tickets have been sold in the first 24 hours of the final phase, and the semifinals and final are sold out.
FIFA announced Friday that 29 of the 64 matches are sold out. That includes all games in the coastal cities of Cape Town and Durban.
"We are very pleased with the interest and with the latest figures," FIFA ticketing subcommittee chairman Horst Schmidt said.
The opening game is also sold out between host South Africa and Mexico at Johannesburg's Soccer City stadium on June 11.
FIFA said tickets were still available for one quarterfinal and the third and fourth playoffs, as well as a selection of final 16 and group games.
Some less popular matches, like South Korea vs. Greece at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth and Paraguay vs. New Zealand in the northern city of Polokwane, are yet to sell out tickets in any of the four seat categories.
Seven matches still have unsold tickets in all four ticket categories, including the lowest priced one for locals. Another eight games have only sold out the cheapest tickets.
FIFA did not say how many tickets had been sold in each category, only that some were "available", some had "few tickets" and some were "unavailable."
Local organizers have said they will ensure that all World Cup games are full to avoid shots of empty seats on international broadcasts.
As a result, they may be forced to give away free tickets to schools or charities. That would have an impact on the economic benefit of the World Cup for the local committee, which is counting on much of its revenue from ticket sales.
The estimated $3.3 billion that the World Cup makes from commercial rights and marketing goes to FIFA.
FIFA and the local organizing committee have previously acknowledged worries over certain "low interest" games where tickets are not selling.
Foreign ticket sales, particularly in Europe, have also been disappointing. Fewer than 350,000 people are expected to travel to the country for Africa's first World Cup, down from initial estimates of 450,000.
The final ticket batch was released Thursday, and fans in South Africa could buy over the counter for the first time. However, there were technical problems with the ticketing systems.
Police were called to at least three centers to calm angry fans who faced lengthy delays.
Fans can make purchases at 11 ticket centers and a network of 600 bank branches. Supermarkets across South Africa will start selling World Cup tickets on Monday.
FIFA was criticized for waiting so long to simplify the process for local fans, who have low incomes and are unfamiliar with buying tickets on the Internet.
Organizers are looking to sell the final 500,000 of the 2.7 million total tickets during the latest phase.

Everything you need to know about ... Durban

Ready to host the Socceroos ... the Moses Mabhida Stadium . Photo: Getty Images
In the first of a three part series, Phil Lutton finds out the secrets to Durban, where the Socceroos will play their opening match.
The setting The weather is balmy, the 'bunny chow' is scorching and the Socceroos will be hoping they can turn up the heat on the Germans when they open their World Cup account in the beachside city of Durban.
The match The first of the Group D matches is the seventh of the tournament, pitting the clinical Germans against Australia on June 13 at one of South Africa’s sparkling new venues, the superb Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The two other Group D combatants, Serbia and Ghana, clash on the same day in Pretoria in match eight of the FIFA World Cup.
South Africa’s World Cup preparations haven’t been flawless but in terms of the stadiums, the country has excelled. Moses Mabhida Stadium, a striking 70,000-seat cauldron nestled on the edge of the Indian Ocean, is one of the finest examples and has been voted the country’s favourite new field of battle.
Inspired by the distinctive ‘Y’ of the South African flag, Moses Mabhida is a striking white sporting temple on the Durban coastline, with its towering 105m high, 350m long arch reminiscent of iconic Wembley.
Post-World Cup, fans will be able to take a cable car to the top to survey the countryside, or if they are feeling daring/suicidal, take a ride on a giant swing that rockets them through a 220m arc over the pitch.

Virtual tour: Moses Mabhida Stadium nestles by the edge of the Indian Ocean, and is a spectacular venue for Australia's World Cup opener against Germany.
Tens of thousands of Australian and German fans will be at the sold-out clash, meaning the debut of the Socceroos won’t be short of home-grown support.
It's a few kilometres from the city's heart and can be reached on foot if, as expected, public transport is at a premium. The venue is named after the former Secretary General of the South African Communist Party and will host seven World Cup matches, including a semi-final.
Our closest cousin is… ANZ Stadium in Sydney, although unlike the former Olympic home, Moses Mabhida has decent lashings of soul and mojo. Plus, the arch will make it one of the world’s most recognisable grounds – this is an all-time great stadium in the making.
The city Durban is the biggest metropolis in the province of KwaZulu-Natal and has a population of just over three million people.
The setting is spectacular – Durban is a surfing hub, with waves rolling in along its Golden Mile and fleets of heavy shipping hovering offshore as they wait to offload in Africa’s busiest port.
A large Indian population gives Durban a distinct feel and ambience that manifests in the food and culture. It is well serviced by the new King Shaka airport but like most of South Africa’s World Cup venues, the endless roadwork is unlikely to be finished in time and could provide some transport headaches.
The Fan Fest For those fans unable to get a ringside seat for the matches, Durban’s New Beach (three kilometres from the stadium) will host a 25,000-capacity fan park featuring a massive screen, surround sound and food and drink. Entry is free and the Fan Fest (in FIFA corporate language) runs from 10am until late.
A month out from the tournament, the beach was very much a work-in-progress so here’s hoping the tradesmen can kick a few late goals. A pedestrian tunnel from the stadium leads straight to the beach, from which you can easily reach the Fan Fest.
Eat Hail a cab. Buckle yourself in and go straight to the Victory Lounge in the city’s heart for the best bunny chow your rands can buy, even if their hidden tiled dining room makes it feel like you are eating in someone’s bathroom.
A ‘bunny’ is a Durban delicacy, inspired by the sub-continental immigrants and now a fixture on the local food scene. Essentially, you take a loaf of bread, cut it in half or quarters, scoop out the middle and fill it with steaming hot Natal curry. It's messy (they laugh in the face of cutlery) and not for the weak of stomach but if you like your chow with more zing than a Frank Lampard penalty, it’s not to be missed. Try a chicken, beef, mutton or vegetable bunny and if you are adventurous, tripe. Keep a water handy.
Drink Most of the action centres in and around the beach, with the pick of the late-night boozers being the legendary Joe Cools, an iconic club over three levels at North Beach. It’s certain to be the scene of hours of frighteningly accurate and tipsy post-match hindsight.
Stay The Southern Sun hotel group operates two of Durban’s best hotels, the North Beach and Elangeni, which sit side-by-side overlooking the rolling waves and bobbing surfers in the Indian Ocean. Both are just a few kilometres from Moses Mabhida Stadium and a one-minute stroll to the sand and water.
When you’re not watching football Pay a visit to the uShaka Marine World, one of the best marine parks in Africa. Head to the cavernous Sibaya Casino on the outskirts of town or the Gold Coast-in-the-80s inspired SunCoast Casino to go all James Bond with your spare rands.
Hire a car and take a scenic drive down the Wild Coast, or up into the soaring Drakensberg Mountains, which border KwaZulu-Natal and the rugged Kingdom of Lesotho.
