It's been around quite a while but it is now that I am at liberty to disclose the following!!!

According to my sources :naughty:, a large Dubai firm that has affiliations within the local construction sector offered to build the 200m-tall West Athens Towers (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=11628280#post11628280) complex in the originally planned location, a few years ago.

According to the same sources, the architect has secretly been meeting with both the construction firms as well as "top people" in the ministry of public works and the environment so as for the project to begin as soon as possible.

The building will incorporate the latest in bioclimatic and low energy consumption construction techniques and chances are that its energy consumption will rise up to 20% of a non-environmentally friendly building of its size, something that, along with the surrounding greenery will add to rather than subtract from the environmental conditions in the area.

Needless to say that the barriers to its completion may be much less than in the case of the shopping center whose construction was stopped due to the intervention of 131 and their political patrons to the Council Of the State. Now, the smaller area covered by the project, the significantly larger green spaces to be secured as a park (more than 20 hectares) as well as the increased scrutiny that will be exercised with regards to the legal and social aspects of the project make it a probable winner with the year of total completion placed in 2014-2025.

A new day is rising, let's hope that it will go on to a happy conclusion :)

Dear friends,

I stopped being surprised or asking questions as to why skyscrapers ain't built in Athens.

Skyscrapers are the crown of today's architectural creation along with other large-scale constructions such as bridges, stadiums, air terminals, etc.

I would say that building tall exerts a notion of high ambition. It is no secret that prior to the crisis, most scrapers were built in nations who are young are heart or are experiencing a new era of re-incarnation.

Skyscraper construction demands a level of synergy, social coordination and social maturity that cannot be found in messed-up societies that look upon their past like little children that when they get scared they hide under under their mamas' skirts. When you hear too much talk, expect little creation. When you see too much cockiness, expect little emotional content and self esteem, as well as much hypocrisy and internal emptiness.

It is difficult to build something like THIS:

Παιδιά μου μακάρι, αλλά ο καιρός περνάει, και το πρόβλημα με την Ελλάδα δεν είναι ότι η πλειοψηφία δεν θα γούσταρε κάτι περισσότερο από αυτό που βιώνει σήμερα. Είναι ότι εδώ και 35 χρόνια υπάρχει μια επικίνδυνη νοοτροπία η οποία δεν έχει να κάνει με ιδεολογίες εδώ πέρα. Είτε είσαι σοσιαλιστής είτε συντηρητικός, είτε φιλελεύθερος, άμα είσαι στραβόξυλο και άχρηστος, σκατά θα τα κάνεις.

Επί 35 χρόνια έχουμε ακούσει ότι παπαριά και αυνανία υπάρχει με μόνη δικαιολογία να μην πάει η χώρα μπροστά.

Είναι άραγε τυχαίο ότι τα σχέδια και τα renderings στην κορυφή του προηγούμενου post, με εξαίρεση τον γνωστό πλέον ουρανοξύστη του Αναστασάκη (ο οποίος είναι "μαχόμενος" αρχιτέκτονας), έχουν γίνει από απλά μέλη του φόρουμ; Είτε αυτοί είναι απλά χομπίστες είτε το πολύ επί πτυχίω μηχανικοί (που και πάλι δεν είμαι σίγουρος, δεν ξέρω ο αγαπητός ovem τι σπουδάζει).

Είναι δυνατόν νέοι άνθρωποι να έχουν τέτοια ρηξικέλευθα οράματα για την πόλη τους και η επίσημη φωνή της επιστημονικής κοινότητας να εκπροσωπείται από κάτι περίεργους τύπους που αφορίζουν τα πάντα και δεν έχουν προτείνει (προσπαθώ να μείνω κόσμιος, γράφω και σβήνω βρισιές τώρα, κάνω προσπάθεια να μην "ξεφύγω") μια μακέτα να δούμε τέλος πάντων τι (μόλις έσβησα μια κακία λέξη) έχουν μέσα στο κεφάλι τους εκτός από τον αρνητισμό τους και τελικά τι προτείνουν; ποιοι είναι αυτοί οι περίεργοι άνθρωποι οι οποίοι έχουν καθηλώσει μια ολόκληρη χώρα στο επίπεδο των 27 μέτρων πάνω από το έδαφος; Με ποια κριτήρια το έκαναν αυτό; Με ποιο δικαίωμα;

Τι στο διάολο θέλουν από τη ζωή μας που με το θα αναγγελθεί κάτι ιδίως από ιδιωτικό φορέα αρχίζουν τους αφορισμούς, ενώ αν αυτό το κάτι καταφέρει και τελειώσει μετά από 645534253647 προσφυγές, αγώνες με τσαντήρια στο δρόμο και άλλα ωραία μεταπολιτευτικά γεμάτα από νεοελληνική "ιδιαιτερότητα" όπως την έχουμε ζήσει στο πετσί μας τόσα χρόνια τώρα, μετά "βουλιάζει" από τον κόσμο. Ποιος έχει τελικά δίκιο;

Με ποιο δικαίωμα, εφόσον η κοινωνία τους δίνει εδώ και χρόνια την απάντηση της, θέλει περισσότερο κοσμοπολιτισμό, αστικότητα, αστικό πολιτισμό και μητροπολιτικές κλίμακες, αυτοί μας επιβάλλουν συνεχώς την οπισθοδρομική μιζέρια τους;

Ε, απλά ΔΕΝ ΠΑΕΙ ΆΛΛΟ.

Αξίζουμε μια καλύτερη Ελλάδα. Ούτε μπλε, ούτε πράσινη (εκτός από το αν πρόκειται για φυσικό πράσινο :D) , ούτε κόκκινη, ούτε συνασπισμένη ροζ, ούτε παρδαλή. Και μέρος αυτής της Ελλάδας βλέπουμε στις προτάσεις των φίλων από πάνω, και γι' αυτήν αξίζει να παλέψουμε.

Επειδή τα πολλά λόγια είναι φτώχεια, για άλλη μια φορά κάνω έκκληση κυρίως σε εκείνους που επισκέπτονται τούτο το δικτυακό τόπο για πρώτη φορά να κάνουν κλικ ΕΔΩ (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=621) και να ανοίξουν τα ματάκια τους.

Ίσως αν μαζί με τον εθνικισμό της κακιάς ώρας όπου μας χρωστάνε όλοι γιατι πριν 3000 χρόνια χτίσαμε την Ακρόπολη και φταίνε όλοι οι άλλοι για τα χάλια μας εκτός από εμάς γιατί δεν κάθονται να τους φάμε και άλλα 100 τρισεκατομμύρια δραχμές σε 25 χρόνια για να φτάσουν οι βίλες των ληστών-νεόπλουτων από το Διόνυσο και το Καπανδρίτι στη Λαμία πλέον, λέω ίσως, αν κάποια νέα παιδιά κάνουν κλικ στον παραπάνω σύνδεσμο, αντί για την ηλίθια εσωστρέφεια και τις ονειρόξεις περί "εξέγερσης" μπορεί να μας πιάσει και κάποιο φιλότιμο (και αυτό αποκλειστική Ελληνική λέξη είναι), και να δούμε και δημιουργία εκτός από καταστροφές και πολιτικάντηδες πολιτικούς που ασχημονούν πάνω στο σώμα της Ελλάδας μας.

Δυστυχώς, είναι απίστευτη η αποτυχία της γενιάς των 50-60 ετών. ΑΠΙΣΤΕΥΤΗ!!! Τόση κακία, μίσος προς τον πλησίον, μικρότητα, μισανθρωπία, μισαλλοδοξία, ευτέλεια ψυχής, αδιαφορία για το καλό της πατρίδας τους είναι δύσκολο να βρεις σε πολιτισμένους ανθρώπους.

Και αυτοί θέλουν να ονομάζονται Έλληνες και να λερώνουν την ταυτότητα και ημών των υπολοίπων.
