View Full Version : How to get an "infraction" at SSC
Mo Rush April 5th, 2009, 08:49 PM You have received an infraction at SkyscraperCity
Dear Mo Rush,
You have received an infraction at SkyscraperCity.
Reason: refused to stop sending pms to me after REPEATED requests
-------
When a moderator makes repeated requests to you to drop the subject and STOP sending pms, you should listen. Continue this behaviour and I will hand this over to administration for brigging or banning. Entirely your choice.
-------
This infraction is worth 1 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.
All the best,
SkyscraperCity
Mo Rush April 5th, 2009, 08:52 PM Moderator
I already have warned Kiwi Fruit to drop the argument. Aside from the Photography forum, which I am a moderator in, I do not know what is going on in the SA and AUS forums, and I don't particularly care. So, by all means you and Dyson must do whatever is required. In the meantime, I am going to keep the photography threads free of politics, and in the case of the Brisbane thread, that requires you staying out of it.
Thank you.

1. It's not an "argument". He pops into the SA forums. Makes snide remarks and gets an appropriate response. Now you know what is/was going on.
2. I don't believe in the "stay out of it" concept you are proposing. Myself and many other RSA forumers move between various forums with no issues and no trouble. So if you're suggesting we "Stay out of it". Thats not going to happen.
Thank you.

I chose not to give you an infraction in that thread because I am quite a patient person. Rather, I notified you by p.m. that if you go back into that thread and trouble stirs up again, I WILL enforce infractions to you and to anyone else involved. I also deleted kiwi's entry in that thread and warned him, too. What you do with this information is up to you, but I can tell you right now the issue is closed as I am not here to debate it with you.

Well then you made the right decision. We will not tolerate any untruths about our country or cities regardless of where they are posted at SSC.
I clearly remember my response and an infraction was certainly not warranted. I said something along the lines of:
"Well we better warn the 1.5 million tourists in Cape Town who walk through our CBD. Oops too late".
There is no issue and I hope there will be no issue in future but I will not support any "stay out of our section/forums" approach. Neither will I take the snide remarks of persistent trouble-makers lightly.

The subject is CLOSED. dysan1 and I have discussed this issue, by the way, and unless you want another infraction like the one he recently issued you, I advise you to heed what I have said.
By the way, no more pms to me on the subject. I have neither the time nor the interest to continue discussing this as it is non negotiable .
Mo Rush
You take these forums too seriously.
Go well.
Mo Rush April 5th, 2009, 08:53 PM There you have it.
Now you too can get an infraction.
I think I've made it clear in my PM's that we(RSA forumers) will not put up with the random visits by trouble makers. I therefore suggest you use the red triangle and refrain from responding.
Lydon April 5th, 2009, 08:57 PM Was he asking you to not post in the Brisbane thread? =S
african biohazard April 5th, 2009, 09:02 PM Mo, they rule this place with an iron fist. We have no choice but to comply with requests, whether unreasonable or not. Take it easy - would be sad loose you to something silly.
Mo Rush April 5th, 2009, 09:07 PM Was he asking you to not post in the Brisbane thread? =S
His/her tone suggested something along those lines.
I will never promote any "stay out of our section" concept.
Pule April 6th, 2009, 06:44 AM Mo, they rule this place with an iron fist.
True and others are allowed to say whatever they want about other countries but we not allowed. How many times have Kiwi being in our forums and posted his stupis remars and not action si taken about him and once you say something to retaliate, then you get a warning. I thought SSC was for open minded people but it's clearly not as you have to be coming from countries like New Zealand to say whatever you want even if you wrong. That's sad.
Anyway, Mo just ignore them and continue with your contributions. By now you must have realised that South African success doesn't make the world happy as they thought that we also gonna fail. I'm sure Angola is next on the list and Nigerian and Mozambique are to follow. Their pessimism bring only strength to us and we shall work to achieve success and no one will stop us.
SA BOY April 6th, 2009, 08:01 AM Mo monie worrie nie, I got them for my spars with Enigma and it seems his boyfriend is picking up where he left off. Despite his vile and disgusting attackes on us in the forums and in Pms (remember those Pule?) i got infracted.
laugh it off and let those ignorant people carry on in their little world, frankly who gives a shit about them anyway..
the more you let this bug you , the more they win, so I agree with Mod on this, laugh it off as a mark of respect that you are as pasionate as I am and carry on with the good work
Cheers

I'm not bugged. This is an internet forum. Its where we come to share information and chill out.
I think he/she was bugged because I refused to "yes sir, no sir" as if he/she is some almighty being, who "did not want to get involved" and so promoted a "stay out of it" concept.
I'm not going to be apologizing for dealing with persistent trouble makers, even if that means that 1.5 million tourists walk around the Cape Town and Durban CBD.
Durbsboi April 6th, 2009, 09:40 AM Dam you guys are bad boys, I dont be getting no infractions up in this shit :(
HirakataShi April 6th, 2009, 07:41 PM Never got infractions, but for some reason my info says I joined in 2004 and have around 900 posts, when in fact I joined in 2002 (as I remember it) and should have well over 1000 posts. Anyway, whatever.
herb21 April 7th, 2009, 12:19 AM s/he had pms ;)

hey you actually visit the SA forums
haggiesm April 8th, 2009, 09:41 AM uhm, how can you expect to run an open forum, without the occasional heated argument. that's just naive.
Durbsboi April 8th, 2009, 09:42 AM I agree with Mo, some of the memebers & Mods take shit on here too seriously, it comes down to a point that scares me to think that these guys have no lives :sly:
JoHaN 15 April 8th, 2009, 11:32 AM hey you actually visit the SA forums
Sometimes, but they're boring (no offence):)
The skybar is more interesting. :D
And i feel like i cant really contribute, because we dont have much contruction going on here.
Durbsboi April 8th, 2009, 11:50 AM I see you havent been in the projects sections lately, lol
Lydon April 8th, 2009, 12:15 PM And i feel like i cant really contribute, because we dont have much contruction going on here.
Clicking on "Projects" may help in alleviating what you think is the case ;)
Mo Rush April 8th, 2009, 12:49 PM we dont have much contruction going on here.
which south africa forums have you been visiting?
haggiesm April 8th, 2009, 02:14 PM you don't even need the forum, just walk out the door. there's construction all over.
Diggerdog April 8th, 2009, 02:40 PM Just with the world cup stadiums and the Gautrain, there is massive construction - let alone the road and other transport upgrades.
Then the ports. The airports. A whole NEW INTERNATIONAL airport for Durbs - not to mention 100s of buildings - I can only assume this dude was being sarcastic!
JoHaN 15 April 8th, 2009, 04:41 PM Clicking on "Projects" may help in alleviating what you think is the case ;)
In Centurion
JoHaN 15 April 8th, 2009, 04:46 PM OMG, You ppl dont understand!! I cant contribute, because i live in Centurion, we have no construction here (in Centurion). Maybe the rest of SA is booming, but not Centurion.
And i cant browse the web for contruction in SA and post it, because the pro-forumers will beat me to it

Is it really or are you joking? I ask because when one signs up to the forum that isn't stated in the terms and conditions one has to accept and there is therefore no way of anyone knowing this.

dysan1 April 9th, 2009, 01:58 PM This is a sad and unfortunate thread. The actions that were taken previously were all justified. There is no need for this thread.
