Hello. My girlfriend and I are traveling up your way soon and I was wondering if I get a few hotel suggestions. Affordable but nice, with a good location. Thanks.

Affordable but nice, with a good location. Thanks. bradleykerr April 8th, 2009, 11:25 PM If you're looking for downtown, I can say the Pacific Palisades hotel is a decent deal. We paid $149 a night for a one bedroom suite which was nice. The hotel restaurant is cheap enough and the food portions were enormous. If you're looking to save a little cash that I can more than happily point you towards the North Vancouver Hotel. It's pretty much right across the bridge from Stanley Park and downtown. I forget the exact price but I think it was around $60 a night. For the money it is surprisingly nice, a very comfortable stay and it's a 2 minute drive to downtown, 5 minutes during a rush time. silence.kit April 8th, 2009, 11:49 PM If you're looking for downtown, I can say the Pacific Palisades hotel is a decent deal. Sure, but I thought I'd check with the locals and see if they have any lesser known places to suggest. spongeg April 9th, 2009, 01:32 AM Opus hotel is nice - not sure of the price - but its a "boutique" hotel Sylvia is said to be "cheap" and its right at english bay and nice YWCA hotel is a cheap option right downtown - just off robson street near BC Place stadium... Sandman suites on Davie Street is nice and gets you close to the action at night not sure of prices - but if you find something we can tell you more about it bradleykerr April 9th, 2009, 05:35 AM Sorry dude, I gave you bad info. The price I told you for the North Vancouver Hotel is what we paid last summer, I just looked at their site and (since the Olympics are coming they need to take out their gouging utensils) the rooms are now $120 :( silence.kit April 9th, 2009, 07:28 PM Opus hotel is nice - not sure of the price - but its a "boutique" hotel Sylvia is said to be "cheap" and its right at english bay and nice YWCA hotel is a cheap option right downtown - just off robson street near BC Place stadium... Sandman suites on Davie Street is nice and gets you close to the action at night not sure of prices - but if you find something we can tell you more about it Cool, thanks. I checked out Opus. It's a bit pricey and really, unnecessarily nice. We're barely going to be in the hotel anyway. I just don't want roaches to be crawling on me as I sleep. Sylvia is just about perfect. Sorry dude, I gave you bad info. The price I told you for the North Vancouver Hotel is what we paid last summer, I just looked at their site and (since the Olympics are coming they need to take out their gouging utensils) the rooms are now $120 :( No worries. Spoolmak April 11th, 2009, 01:10 AM The Coast hotel in the West End is nice and relatively cheap too and it has excellent views. WinnipegPatriot April 11th, 2009, 02:07 AM Try the Comfort Inn Downtown, or the Quality Hotel ...definitely not your average Choice Hotel... http://www.choicehotels.ca/hotels/hotel?hotel=CN393 http://www.choicehotels.ca/hotels/hotel?hotel=CN072 silence.kit April 13th, 2009, 04:38 AM I think I may try my luck with Hotwire. It says I can get a 3-star hotel for about 70 dollars a night in Vancouver Downtown West. spongeg April 13th, 2009, 11:12 PM yah i have heard people get good deals at the park plaza - it has a new name now - its right across from the wall centre on burrard - great location decent hotel - they used it in that movie - best in show |
