If you're looking for downtown, I can say the Pacific Palisades hotel is a decent deal. We paid $149 a night for a one bedroom suite which was nice. The hotel restaurant is cheap enough and the food portions were enormous.

If you're looking to save a little cash that I can more than happily point you towards the North Vancouver Hotel. It's pretty much right across the bridge from Stanley Park and downtown. I forget the exact price but I think it was around $60 a night. For the money it is surprisingly nice, a very comfortable stay and it's a 2 minute drive to downtown, 5 minutes during a rush time.

Opus hotel is nice - not sure of the price - but its a "boutique" hotel

Sylvia is said to be "cheap" and its right at english bay and nice

YWCA hotel is a cheap option right downtown - just off robson street near BC Place stadium...

Sandman suites on Davie Street is nice and gets you close to the action at night

Cool, thanks. I checked out Opus. It's a bit pricey and really, unnecessarily nice. We're barely going to be in the hotel anyway. I just don't want roaches to be crawling on me as I sleep. Sylvia is just about perfect.

The Coast hotel in the West End is nice and relatively cheap too and it has excellent views.

Try the Comfort Inn Downtown, or the Quality Hotel ...definitely not your average Choice Hotel...

I think I may try my luck with Hotwire. It says I can get a 3-star hotel for about 70 dollars a night in Vancouver Downtown West.

yah i have heard people get good deals at the park plaza - it has a new name now - its right across from the wall centre on burrard - great location decent hotel - they used it in that movie - best in show
