It looks as though some architects and engineers in EG had some fun on their 3D design programs. But if this new city actually gets completed (especially the convention centre), I'm going there!

Honestly, they really didn't need to create another city, they could have just put many of these projects in Downtown Malabo and create an a nice, tall and busy city center/downtown.

Don't get me wrong, this is a very beautiful project but it seems a unnecessary and expensive to maintain. (more roads and parks)

EQG´s leader has opened its doors to people from the EU, they don´t need any visas any more, no matter how long they plan to stay. (due to jeune afrique magazine. I need to find the article again) He said that he wants to recruit massively many educated foreigners, which he certainly needs to keep all these things running in an efficient and orderly way until the locals are trained to take up the task. But like with all tiny countries, they will always need people to run things....even oil rich and ultra-wealthy Brunei has droves of Singaporean, Malayian and British long-time expats that keep thing going! I don´t see anything bad with it because Brunei people are happy, they live in an affluent country that provdes so many things free of charge!

Wow, MALABO 2 is simply beautiful and charming. The design of the buildings combined to the tropical climate, it creates a very good impression.

They finally reap the some profits...Read about the highly unfair contract signed with American oil companies in the mid 1990´s, 98-99% of the profit went straight back to the States!:devil: I was shocked when I read it on the internet.

EQG now gets more about 30% it took years to reach this....it has formed its own national oil company which will increase profits:cheers:

But yes, great photos. EG has a great future since its so small and theres only a certain amount of money that Obiang can steal, some of it has to make its way to development.

I very much liked the first leader of Ivory Coast, ´cos he developped his country from a small backwater to SS Africa´s third largest economy...without oil!!! How would Ivory Coast have looked like if it had had Nigeria´s oil wealth, Popa1980!?

Nice pictures guys. It would be sad though if its solely the govt's job to build all things. They must have been private investments. I would like to see pictures of the High Schools and Hospitals in Malabo though.

The project is a comprehensive medical center in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, which includes a hospitalization tower, outpatient clinics, ER, radiology, operating rooms, an ICU and other medical services. In addition, the project includes staff housing, a logistics building, a power plant, hotel and super-pharm.

Calm down bro, there are some of us here doing more than just observing pictures, but are masterminding ways to materialize potential future projects in their home-countries, this is just inspiration, which is why i asked the above question.

I rather have African leaders throw money on projects like M II - that one way or another will benefit EQ's population be it today's generation or a future one - than have them go on crazy shopping sprees or purchase lavish real-estate overseas, so you won't hear me complaining.

Malabo II - the new city built from scratch truly takes shape and it looks good.

A spanish speaking country in SSA is a little surreal for me. Nice to see improvements coming to EG, along with Gabon and Libya they seem to have the greatest potential in raising the standards of living to first world level.
