View Full Version : U2 tower/Titanic quarter - Who'll get to see them? Yer Man April 19th, 2009, 10:39 AM Who'll actually get to see all these great plans for our cities? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF2mg5krIjc odlum833 April 19th, 2009, 04:00 PM The U2 tower is on ice until the property market stabilises. The reason for that primarily is it's "trophey project" status. I can't see construction starting on it until end 2010 - maybe even 2011. As for the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, I will leave that for the locals to judge, as im not really in a posistion to judge it's viability economically. It's important that people don't get hung up on the tougher times. Yes some projects will be delayed - maybe even scrapped but the important thing is that Ireland can posistion itself faster then most to benefit from the upturn. More importantly the upturn will be export driven. No project should be written off. The climate will become suitable faster then people think I feel. saoró... April 19th, 2009, 04:04 PM Ahhmm, people who dont drink or eat apparently :tongue3: Then again, wont be much need for these projects if the populations of Dublin and Belfast fall by 90%. belfastuniguy April 19th, 2009, 07:01 PM Oh please 6 billion to 500 million, what a fucking crock of shit. As for Titanic Quarter, still progressing well. Nothing thus far has been delayed or cancelled. citybus April 20th, 2009, 03:54 PM That video does seem a bit too David Icke fear the Lizard people hysteria, but theres probably an element of truth. Certainly the World Bank and them organisations pursue policies that ravage the economies of 3rd world countries. They can't be unaware that their actions lead to the deaths of many people through poverty. But I tell you one thing about TQ and U2 tower that we won't get to see. U2 is likely to be residents only, and the gardens in between the ARC slab blocks will unfortunately not be open to the public:) 937delta April 20th, 2009, 04:27 PM and the gardens in between the ARC slab blocks will unfortunately not be open to the public And its someones garden, I can understand that, I certainly wouldn't want folk to have rights walking through my front garden. Would I pay £££££££'s so that I can have hoody's handing around my front window. People who buy into this area and spend the money, don't want yobs hanging around with graffiti marking their territory. odlum833 April 20th, 2009, 04:32 PM We have alot of squares in new developments like that all over Dublin - most are private. I don't have a problem with it myself. The square belongs to the residents. citybus April 20th, 2009, 06:31 PM They are communal gardens for the residents, not private gardens like you have with houses. I cant remember if they were particularly nice looking or not, though they could form part of a pleasant walk. My main beef though is with gated community streets. Completely unnecesary and a really shortsighted outlook on life- do they want Europe to be like Brasil? I'm getting off topic here though, TQ probably isnt like that. They can't be unaware that their actions lead to the deaths of many people through poverty. I love a bit of conspiracy and and I've come to realise that the word "conspiracy" is a tool used to discredit the truth more often than we may think. What's in this doc is by no means new to me but what I loved was the fact they were able to give the date of the next "holocaust". Although I take the shock aspect of it with a pinch of salt, I wouldn't rubbish the overall theme and believe firmly that as citizens we have to take more responsibility in regards to the legislation which governs what we stuff down / is stuffed down our throats. The name "Monsanto" stuck out for me in this clip as it reminded me of an extremely interesting documentary I watched some time ago. This doc makes no suggestion of world domination or mass genocide but is even more spine-tingling in a way. Worth a watch if you have the time: The World According to Monsanto (can be found in Google videos) |
