Idea

Nguyen Thu Thuy, a journalist of the HanoiMoi Newspaper and is also a member of the Vietnam Fine-Arts Association. She has participated in the creation and exhibition together with the Hanoi Young Visual Artists Club.Writing on culture and arts, Nguyen Thu Thuy felt in love with the art of ceramics of Vietnam...

The idea founder of the Hanoi Mural, Ms Nguyen Thu Thuy, or addressed commonly in Vietnam as "Ms Thuy", was born in Hanoi. She is a journalist of culture and arts, of the Hanoimoi Newspaper and is also a member of the Vietnam Fine-Arts Association. She has participated in the creation and exhibition together with the Hanoi Young Visual Artists Club.

The idea comes to Thuy when everyday she has to go working passed by the ugly, grey concrete dike. She thought: "Why don't we use ceramic material to decorate this wall?" Then, breaking some ceramic pots and bowls, Thuy strated the idea with a pilot picture of mosaic and "install" it into the dike by Photoshop software:

It's such a meaningful project, every night, homeless children can sleep along this road, toward their eyes to the winter sky and dream beautiful dreams. Money should be spent in this way, it teaches children a practical lesson, does anyone know it? Let me answer: dream forever can't live, they are on the wall, standing behind them but makes nothing; they should stand on their feet, and don't ever think about any help of anyone, because the amount of money saving for them has been used to make many other similar "dream walls" for .... them (?)

In reality the ceramic look cheap :lol: and in my opinion ugly , i rather prefer some advertising panel :lol: , seriously.

It looks really good. Thanks for the update. I hope Hanoi can become City of Art in the future. I have a good feeling. I think the wall will have a positive influence on the citizens. It encourages creativity and contributation in my opinion.

Speaking in term of sophistication it might be not on the same level as the painting of an artist of course. However, including Kids into the project along with adults has a big meaning. Its a project for Hanoi by Hanoians & her friends which do include people from all ages. For me it is one of the highlights actually.

I find that many people are driven too much by the aesthetic which is totally wrong. The idea of the project and the concept of each painting should be more appreciated. A beautiful painting perfect in composition but without any content has no value.

cái thua của Vn là không biết tự quảng bá mình, thời buổi nay người ta cần hình ảnh, nhanh gọn, nhưng VN chỉ dùng từ ngữ để quảng bá cho du khách "VN đất nước hiền hoà, văn hoa vv" nói vậy mà mong du khách tới thì thôi luôn

cambodia, đâu cần gì, chỉ cần 1-2 cái angkor wat, angkor thom, là mỗi năm nó đã có 1 hơn triệu du khách, xấp xỉ VN 10 năm trước đây, trong khi dân số VN là 80 triệu, còn dân số Miên là 12-15t. lấy lượng du khách 1 triệu chia cho dân số miên, và lương du khách 3t, chia cho dân số Vn là biết VN thua Miên rồi, tính đâu tới Thái hay SIng

Trông đẹp thật đấy, lai đa dạng nữa nên không thấy nhàm mắt. Vấn đề bây giờ là phụ thuộc ý thức người dân nữa thôi, mong cho nó giữ được như thế lâu lâu 1 chút rồi tầm 5 năm trùng tu lại 1 lần:)
