A little while back someone made a comment on how small the rooms appear and I think this is what they where talking about. Looking at the floor plans this is the enclosed balcony..

And here are some current pictures of phase 2 and 3...

Allen2 April 19th, 2009, 07:33 PM Here's some background information and a rendering.
Infinity is the first of 5 towers at Central City. Rising 36 floors from Central City, Infinity's views are unmatched. Unobstructed views to the North, South and West. This concrete high rise is the best value in the lower mainlandby far: Located beside the King George Skytrain Station, destinations throughout Vancouver area are an easy commute. Whether it's for work or play the skytrain makes for car free living. Downtown is only 40 minutes away. And, since the King George station is the first on the line you are certain to get a seat every time. An urban village with shops, services and cafes will be at your door step to provide you with daily conveniences.

Talisker October 19th, 2009, 01:42 AM Those other two towers look to have stalled. There hasn't been any progress in 6 months. Any ideas what's going on?

Yellow Fever October 19th, 2009, 08:30 AM This project has been postponed for quite some time due to the financial problems. But I believe once the economy improve, it will resume the work.
Franky December 10th, 2009, 03:03 AM I was told that the reason those two towers are stalled is because of the recession; however, other projects in MV have not faced this problem. I say the developers should get their s**t together and finish them.

Agreed. But at least the fundamentals of the project are already completed, meaning going back to work isn't too hard. I don't think the recession has ended, but I think our "pause time" right now will hopefully be enough to get the development back on track.
Talisker December 20th, 2009, 12:12 AM Kind of like the surrey equivilant to the ryongong hotel in north korea isn't it? Lets just hope that being left in an unfinished state for so long won't do them too much harm.
Yellow Fever December 20th, 2009, 12:31 AM ^^ But the chance to get these towers done is 100 times greater than that funny looking hotel.
Talisker December 21st, 2009, 02:14 AM But that thing is back under construction though. By the looks of things the concrete has decayed horribly in 15 years and I get the impression it will only be externally completed as a 'fake' hotel.
This site does look dreadful though, especially with that huge hole in the ground between the towers and the skytrain station. Recent talk is of the housing boom picking up again in vancouver, so hopefully we'll see this development being finished off.

Really? I thought that thing had done its exterior long time ago!

I have the confident that these towers will get done in just a matter of time. It won't make any financial sense if they scrap this project on the fact that both towers are already half finished.
Mr.A December 23rd, 2009, 11:38 PM it is official, one of the to towers is growing again. Today the fly forms for the next floor are going up. All the prep work has been done over the last few days.

that's suppose to be a downtown? the sea of parking lots will really tie the whole thing together.

Yellow Fever September 16th, 2010, 10:56 PM So this is the fourth tower?
dleung September 17th, 2010, 03:00 AM you should see the city councils plans for the rest of the area by 2070, its going to have a larger population than vancouver
Best comeback ever. 60 years will go by in no time :D
Honestly, I don't even know why they didn't just give the towers a clean rectangular form instead of trying to shape it into something. With all that spandrel and grey mullions, it's just an amorphous blob.
Mr.A September 17th, 2010, 03:38 AM This is not the site for the fourth tower!!!! This will complete the underground garage and a commercial building on top. Tower 4 and 5 are not yet excavated!!!
Yellow Fever September 17th, 2010, 04:25 AM ^^ Thanks!
Btw, how did you take these photos? do you work with the construction team? :)
Mr.A September 17th, 2010, 06:30 AM how did you take these photos?

boschb September 20th, 2010, 06:05 AM Best comeback ever. 60 years will go by in no time :D.
surrey really likes to take there time especially with upwards development, theres still like 70s houses with half acre lots near this area :ohno:
an embarrassment for bc's soon to be largest
Mr.A October 16th, 2010, 04:31 AM i am looking forward to the end of this eyesore. my pic.
