This is pictures of MY home (YAZD) which me and my cousins taked last summer. i posted these in the iran forum but i think i can post it here too. i am not from Yazd city, i am from Yazd province but most of this pictures is from Yazd city because it is more beautiful than my little village. :lol:

more masjed jameh (i can post 100000 pictures of masjed jameh of yazd but you still need to go see it personally!). in this picture it is me and my cousins. we are pointing up to a symbol carved in the mosque which looks like ahura mazda symbol! this mosque was build i think 800 years ago. it is a very old mosque. yes i just searched and it was built in 6th century of hejri calendar: http://www.anobanini.ir/travel/fa/yazd/1385/11/post_2.php

this is not yazd, this is meibod which is in the yazd province. this is one the ab anbar (water storage). before yazd had water pipes, they had these water storages there they put the water underground and it stayed cool! now they are closed off because there has been water pipes in yazd villages for more than 20 years but they are still kept for history.

this is also meibod, in a place called shah abbasi which the town of meibod renovated and now it looks very nice

this is the old part of my dehat (in yazd most buildings are from clay but they were falling apart so they added bricks and wood to help them stand)

this is kavire loot... you see the bushes they planted? they planted those because a lot of times the sand would blow into the highway. these bushes keep the sand off the roads. but too bad because the desert is much more beautifull without any bushes...

these are bad gir (air vent)... before there was electricity in yazd, these took the wind and kept the houses cool (and clay houses already keep cool because of their nature). the building under them is more than 100 years old! this is a very old building!
