nsn April 22nd, 2009, 06:29 AM Doesn't this belong in Skybar? Not in Projects?

its 16hectares. ive been a few years back. excellent
nsn April 23rd, 2009, 01:10 AM Cul, even if this thread is about other wildlife parks, not just Reptile Park, it still isn't about a counstruction project! This part of the board is already filled with so much stuff that has nothing to do with projects or development (I'm talking about the Far North Coast Thread in particular), that surely as Chief Mod it's part of your role to set an example and keep this Projects board for what it's meant for: news about developments etc.
And as for Old Sydney Town - it closed down many years ago. 2003, according to the Wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Sydney_Town). Funny, I would have guessed it was before that... I remember going there when I was about 8.
CULWULLA April 23rd, 2009, 03:38 AM ^nah that changed years ago. we had 2 sections, but now everything in one.
anything to do with projects, construction ,natural landscapes, shopping centres, anything... with NSW, it goes here.lucky its not WA section or we would have a spam thread and politics thread or a future perth thread. nothing to do with construction /??
so leave the moderating to me and things will be fine.
anyway
back to wildlife parks
another good one is featherdale outwest near Blacktown

Yeah exactly, the NSW sub forum is about anything to do with NSW, including absolute retarded dribble about some small town that turns true contributors away, but DO NOT dare include transport discussions related to development in any of the NSW threads, or GFC talk that the thinkers knew would affect development 6 months ago or more!
CULWULLA April 28th, 2009, 02:50 AM how about a state political thread? lol i know fabs would like that.

Inego April 29th, 2010, 03:33 AM Went to Featherdale in January for the first time, and it was actually quite good. SYmbio - haven't been there since the 70s, but a colleague was there at the weekend and happy with it for her 3yo.
Old Sydney Town - website says it's available for movie etc. shoots, but closed to the public generally.
The other one which withered and died was Australiana Village at Wilberforce....

I see, well perhaps the thread was soo far in the pages that people don't bother looking past page 1 & maybe page 2
I sometimes like to look in the skybar and indirectly bump a thread which is interesting as about a third of the new ones in there seem to be nonsense or start to become stupid...

Old Sydney Town, never heard of it... but im sure i have seen it without knowing it in movies etc... Perhaps the place is closed to the public only as it may be a bit dangerous with some buildings perhaps a bit dodgey. Um also perhaps there's no market for it. I'm sure some tours there and talk about movie shoots would interest some one though...
CULWULLA April 15th, 2011, 01:22 AM took this last week while pumping fuel at Buladelah

e1p1 May 14th, 2012, 08:08 AM Berowra Valley gets national park nod
Melanie Kembrey May 14, 2012
http://images.smh.com.au/2012/05/13/3293682/th-berowra-th-90x60.jpg
THE northern Sydney home of the largest owl species in the country is about to become home to something much larger.
The state government has introduced legislation to elevate more than 3800 hectares of the Berowra Valley to national park status. And it is not only the powerful boobook owl that is hooting with delight.
Environmentalists have been campaigning for the Berowra Valley Regional Park in the Hornsby shire to receive national park recognition for nearly six decades.
Bob Salt, the Friends of Berowra Valley Regional Park chairman, said the society would not rest until the legislation had passed through Parliament.
''We've been writing to local members, we've made approaches to conservation councils, we've held exhibitions and we've created a guidebook,'' Mr Salt said. ''We are very pleased about this attempt to give it national park status.''
He said the move would make nature conservation, rather than recreational activities, the focus of the park's management.
But the Environment Minister, Robyn Parker, said public use of the valley would not be compromised, with well-used dog-walking tracks excluded from the legislation and the possible introduction of mountain-bike tracks.
The Hornsby Shire Historical Society museum co-ordinator, Elizabeth Roberts, said the valley provided a link to Australia's colonial and indigenous past.
The park has dozens of historically significant areas, including Aboriginal artwork and campfire sites. It also has the Thornleigh Zig Zag Railway, built in the late 19th century and the last of its kind in the state.
