Yeah, you are right. i've always thought this gap exists in order to separate between the fans stands, but usually both Maccabi and Hapoel fans sits there in there games, so this gap is useless.

The 50k renovation of Teddy stadium is not official yet. only the southern stand will be build soon...

most probably this renovation will be approved and FAST cause the one pushing for it its no other than Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat..! :D

The only reason that Municipality of Jerusalem want to upgrade Teddey Stadium to 50k seats, is the fact that they want Teddy as national stadium, instead of Ramat Gan Stadium (old or new).

IMO, Teddy should not to be upgraded to 50k seats because the capacity will be too much high for Beitar. Even 30k seats is pretty large for Beitar, so 50k?!
I think that 30k seats is enough. they must to build the southern stand in order to make Teddey stand 360°.

The new stand wont have the same design in order to increase his capacity as much as possible. The separation between the upper and lower level will canceled. In addition, the chairs will arranged more crowded.

The new stand is not perfect, but not so bad. It's nice, Nothing more. When I heard this stand will not have the same design ,I was afraid from much worse things.

Likewise, the pitch will raised up by 1.8 meters, and as a result of this, the seven lower rows will canceled. It seems to me too much.

I'm realist so I like this one - nothing special,but has great chance to be build.

I'm sure that most of Beitar fans doesn't want Teddy to be upgraded more than 30,000 seats. Beitar has many fans in Israel (more than any other team), but not enough for 40,000-55,000 stadium.

In a really good season, and only at important matches, the attendance is about 18,000-19,000.
30,000 seats is nice, beyond that it's not necessary at all.

Maybe Macabi Tel-Aviv can bring more fans per game, but Beitar has more fans at the periphery. Most of Beitar fans comes out of Jerusalem. Beitar can bring more fans to the away games more than any other team.

this is the first stage in Teddy upgrade. they are raising the playing area in order to improve the viewing angle.

The stadium was supposed to be ready in 2007, but the works were suspended for a long time due to financial problems. the stadium suppose to be ready for 2012/2013 season...

I don't like the expansion of Teddy, the south stand won't be like the others...
The stadium capacity will be 30,000? How?
I see that the lower tier will be smaller, around 4,000-5,000 seats less, so the south stand should be very big(around 14,000 seats, to compare, the north stand capacity is 8,000 seats)

The lower tier will be smaller around 2,500 seats.
The separation between the upper and lower level will canceled. In addition, the chairs will arranged more crowded.

The new stand not perfect, but not so bad...

Petach Tikva Probably won't host games in 2013 UEFA European Under-21, So the south and north stand won't be built soon.

The upgrading of Bloomfield hasn't started yet. It supposed to be started at this summer.

hey Omri could you check this out, it talks about a "hall" in Beer7 for 3,000 people, i think its meant to be for Basketball but it says it will meet all the standars required by the football association...if this is the beer7 arena we talked some pages ago seems like they changed the design, what do u think about it?

Tennis center Israel - there isn't any official program so far (AFAIK).
Ashdod stadium - there isn't any official program so far.
Beersheba stadium - works has started last month.

I agree with you, but you have to remember, Teddy is 20 years old stadium. new stadium are built smarter (such as the southern stand).
Lets look at the bottom line - Teddy is still nice stadium for Israeli standards, and with the southern stand and new seats, Teddy will be much better.

yeah a 10,000 seat one for Bney Yehuda and the rest of the other small teams in Tel Aviv would be nice, Hatikva stadium needs to get demolished

Hatikva Stadium might be good for the low level's teams of Tel-Aviv (Beitar Tel-Aviv, Hapoel Kfar-Shalem, Gadna Tel-Aviv etc).

Hatikva has no room to grow, it should get destroyed, they can build a nice tower or some cool houses

Probably to lower costs of the initial construction.
