This luxury residential high rise project is located in the upscale Coal Harbour neighbourhood of downtown Vancouver. There isn't too much information available about this $220 million ($240 million US) project just yet but I wanted to put the word out about this beauty as soon as possible and we'll update as time goes on. There will be live/work units in the podium and retail at grade. Bi level flats and loft units will run up the side of the taller building along the "creases". Thoughts?

2 months to pour 4 parking levels... 2 more to go, plus the whole other half of the site, lol. Also notice where the concrete for the neighbouring building's parking garage ends around 3 stories down the side of the excavation.

Below: Light feature on the exposed elevator cores. Somehow light pollution seems to be accepted as the "art" feature requirement on new buildings these days. A greenwall would have been more true to Vancouver and less tacky IMO.

Update by me today:

Half the site has reached grade/building the first floor; the east half of the site is still 70 feet down, but it's ok because the tower on that side goes up to only 10 stories and is probably going to finish at the same time as the 36 storey tower on the west side.

I'd be interested to see the parking fit-out, because it looks as if they're building some kind of spiral ramp connecting the parking levels on the two halves of the site.

Skinny towers!

Yeah the towers will be pretty skinny. The site itself is only 60 feet deep, hence the street-facing elevator cores. Update by me below:

They're starting to build up the 2nd of 7 parking levels on the south side, and 3 stories above ground on the north side.

It looks like they didn't have the money to wrap the whole thing in curtain wall. If they are financially restricted to window-wall on the south side, at least make the mullions dark. Or, if they wanted to emphasise the separation of the folded "prow"... here's a quick sketch of what I think would have been a better solution:

I know it looks like plywood boarded over windows, but they're supposed to be louvers (logical since it's the southwest facade). Could be aluminum instead of wood, and probably a lot thinner in profile, but you get the idea. Plus it'll match the horizontal-banded concrete. Whatever it takes to get away from the standard grey windowwall...
