Olomouc is medieval capital of Moravia, historical land covering most of eastern third of contemporary Czech republic. Regarding to number of valuable historical buildings, the city is ranked second just after Prague. Central Olomouc is made up by original medieval street network and makes an antmosphere of a really old town. Nowadays, Olomouc is populated by 102,100 inhabitants and is an administrative centre of Olomouc region. Situated 285 km (180 mi) eastern of Prague, connected by a highway, takes 2 1/2 hrs by express train. I fully recommend to have a stop in this town, for travellers on Cracow-Prague in particullar.

^^

In matter of architecture heritage, Olomouc is the second most valuable city after Prague in Czech rep. and one of the most valuable cities of its size in Europe.

But, how to promote a town when even the name of the country is less known than name of its capital (and hardly anyone knows how to spell it even in mother language)? :dunno:

:D
