At about 2330 last night (30/04) i heard an incredibly loud explosion/bang around Whitehall Quay / Station area.

I rushed to the window which overlooks the station but couldn't see anything or see any commotion on the platforms.

It was a rumbling noise, lasting about a second that was loud enough to wake me.

Initially i thought it could be a train crash, or a problem on the Granary Wharf development.

Did anyone else hear it? has anyone heard any news this morning?

Cheers

Nothing reported in any local papers (that I've noticed) so presumably wasn't anything serious.

Incidentally:
I noticed this morning a massive amount of damage on the roof and adjacent dormer roof on the new large three storey residential building currently under construction near the Guiseley retail park roundabout. The roof was only completed about a month or two ago, but the damage seem to smashed through a load of the slate tiles and roof support timbers. The crane is still up there, and it looks like it has dropped something very heavy on the roof!

Unless things are dropping from the sky causing these strange phenomena!.

Someone asked the same question on the Leeds Music Forum.

Interesting.

I thought it was a local sound, but obviously not.

No reports in the news, will keep my eyes peeled.
