View Full Version : Coming to Sarajevo (again), help needed!
Bikes May 5th, 2009, 12:36 PM We are coming with 2-3 friends to Sarajevo on May 15th and we stay till 18th. I sure hope to meet some of you this time!! So if you want to meet up in Sarajevo, just let me know! I'm going to need to take many photos of Sarajevo and review some pubs, restaurants, party places for my web project. If you can make any suggestions on where to go it would be very much appreciated! I know a few places I will go back to, but I'm sure we missed like 95% of the goodies the last time.
Also, I've read that there are university parties? When and where are they? Would loved to join a Sarajevo party!

^^At this site there's a pretty good listing of Sarajevo's clubs, restaurants, pubs etc. From what I get, "Cheers" (which is relatively new) is one of the most popular right now

mostarac_2009 May 5th, 2009, 03:42 PM Two friends? Girls? If they are Hungarian girls I will show them Mostar, and we will leave you in Zenica since you like Zenica so much, as I can see.
I don't know about Hungary, but I know that Hungarian girls are beautiful!

Bikes May 5th, 2009, 05:00 PM Sarajevsko Pivo
Btw, where the hell is Sarajka hiding? This time I'll catch her!! hehehe
Zmey, it is very different to visit a city for few days and to live there.. I love my city, but I have to escape every now and then, I spend at least a few months in different cities each year.
mostarac_2009, I have a better idea. I leave you with two guys in Zenica, and I'm off to Sarajevo ;)
BiH-x, thanks for the info, but is there no english version maybe? Tiesto is not really my kinda music!
mirza-sm, can't wait to see your suggestions!
Please tell me your favorite restaurants in Sarajevo if possible. I would also like to know either a place where students party (university), or a place which is not full of posh wannabe posers (gucci-mucchi-prada-nada..), rather people who want to have some fun. I've been told by Mostarac that Bazeni is maybe a place like this?
mostarac_2009 May 6th, 2009, 01:10 PM Jeli ti zivis u Mostaru? Da nam malo slikas:cheers:
Jesam, zivim u Mostaru.
Rado bih postavio koju sliku...ali nemam opciju da dodam sliku. Je li to zato sto sam novi clan ovdje?

BiH-x May 6th, 2009, 09:48 PM I'm afraid I cant answer your last question, but here are some tips:
The most popular clubs on the forum part of the site I showed you were these:
Cinemas/Sloga
According to website descriptions, the music that is played here varies. Everything from blues to disco can be found here.
http://www.last.fm/venue/8787446
^^thats in English
Here's a tiny bit of atmosphere from some Latin group called Cubismo who performed there a while ago:

You also have City pub
The music here is mainly jazz, blues and rock and the adress is Hadžiristićeva b.b. (Its in the center of the city, near Bezistan and Hotel Europa.)

And then you have Opera, where you can mostly hear rock, blues, ethno and house. Location: Branilaca Sarajeva 25.

If you want to eat, you have countless cevapi-restaurants in the old town, and if you want to try something different (and, admittedly, more expensive) maybe you should try Hacienda, which specializes in Mexican food, but also serves Bosnian. The adress is here (http://www.placetobe.ba/place.asp?tbl=hacienda&id=3) (with a map to help you out)

Now, during daytime, Ort is popular:

http://www.infobar.ba/katalog/cafe-barovi/Ort/sl-02.jpg
It's located at the end of the street of cafes that stretches from about the front of the Cathedral. But as you noticed in your last report, the cafes there arent the cheapest. No worries though, I think a sip of coffee for an agreeable price will be available in most cafes in the city, especially the old town.
Mirza260 May 7th, 2009, 12:08 AM Make sure you also check out the cafes that are lined up just infront of the walkway in Ferhadija in fron of the Cathedral.
Bikes May 7th, 2009, 12:29 AM Thanks a bunch BiH-x, excellent info! Mirza, yes I know those places!
Bikes May 17th, 2009, 09:03 PM The trip got sadly postponed, but we will definitely go, just a bit later..
