Hi everyone!

I need your help and knowledge about iranian cities. You see, there is a strong chance for me to visit Iran this year. Because of my limited experience of traveling around the country, I'm not sure which cities or places i should put into my vacation list.

I want to ask you to list your top ten (or whatever) favorite iranian cities in which you'd like me and every other tourist to visit.

Emam Reza mosque, Mashhad
Shah mosque, Esfahan
Vank cathedral, Esfahan
Sarkis church, Tehran

^cool. I will visit Imam Reza shrine because everyone's telling good things about it. He was so lucky to die in iran. Look what iranians done to his grave. Awsome decoration with jwelry :cheers:

I liked Mashad and I'm not Muslim. It's a very tourist orientated city/region (obv).

I Love Tehran and also Shiraz, I think Tabriz is pretty cool too :)

^^It's in Shomal (Mazandaran) :D I don't know exactly where but it's sooooooooooooooooooo beautiful!!! one of the most natural beauty's in the world I think :D

Tonekabon area also it's near to Shahsavar if you go off the mountains you will see the city below you :) also Kelardasht is amazing :D:

How long are you planning to be in Iran?

I don't know which places you have already been to but I agree with everyones suggestions. If you are staying in Tehran, Qom and Qazvin are very close also. Not the best places ever but interesting to see at least once. But if you haven't been to the main places (Esfahan, Shiraz, Mashad etc) go there first of course.

My stay in iran would not extent from a month maybe even less but i will not go there to visit my relatives! I'm going there to visit at least five or six iranian cities, preferably the best ones. This forum has helped me alot on knowing my country, now i want to see them with my own eyes not through the desktop.
Except Mazandaran province, i havent been in any other provinces.

I will:) I wish i can go this summer but i'm not sure because i don't want to be taken from IKIA to sarbazi! So it may be delayed a little bit and i'm working on finding some legal excuses not to serve in military.

I would add Hamedan to that list, been there once and Alisadr cave is one of the most amazing things i have ever seen and they are politest of people.

since you will arive in Tehran (90%) you will see tehran.If you want green places gilan and mazandaran province are good(every city of them) and also a part of eastern azerbaijan named "aynalu",north of Tabriz.

you like desert visit a city like yazd.if you like mountains again north and azerbaijan provinces will do.kish has lots of festivals.it is the only place in the country which ppl can have fun while the gov is less strict on their festivals(not comparable with foreign country one's) but remember,as you go south the weather gets HOT.
If you like historical places Tabriz shiraz and Isfahan and alot more.If you wanna visit religious places Mashhad and Qom are the best choices.
