Boumerdès (en arabe : بو مرداس), ancienne Rocher Noir durant la colonisation, est une ville d'Algérie, chef-lieu de la wilaya de Boumerdès, située à 35 kilomètres à l'est d'Alger.
Boumerdès est une ville du nord-ouest de la Kabylie. Elle est située au bord de la Mer Méditerranée, et proche des montagnes du Djurdjura. En 1962, la ville a hébergé l'exécutif du gouvernement provisoire algérien de Abderrahmane Farès, le (GPRA). En 1963, Boumerdès est devenu une ville universitaire de rayonnement africain et arabe. La ville a été le siège du Centre Africain des Hydrocarbures et des Textiles (CAHT) en 1964. En 1973, le CAHT a été transformé en deux écoles d'ingénieurs et de techiciens supérieurs : Institut National des Hydrocarbures et de la Chimie (INH), Institut National des Industries lègères (INIL). D'autres écoles ont connu le jour depuis, avec notamment l'Institut national de génie mécanique (INGM) en 1977, l'Institut Algérien du Pétrole (IAP)en 1974, l'Institut National de la Productivité et du Développement Industriel (INPED) en 1976, et l'Institut national d'électricité et d'électronique (INELEC) en 1977.
Depuis 1996, ces écoles d'ingénieurs sont placées sous tutelle universitaire pour donner par la suite l'Université de Boumerdès, à l'exception de l'IAP qui est transformé en centre de perfectionnement et de spécialisation en énergie dont le statut est celui d'une entreprise.

Boumerdès comprend de belles plages qui s'étendent jusqu'à la cité Fadè de Boumerdès où sont logés une grande partie des enseignants de l'université de Boumerdès (UMBB).

la ville est completement en chantier ... partout des grues et des baricades ... difficile de prendre des photos du fait que les barrages sont nombreux et ne permettent pas de prendre des photos librement, BOUMERDES est encore considerée comme un fief de terroristes, une ville dangereuse meme si d'aprés ce que l'on me dit elle commence a attiré les bobos d'Alger ...

1976, d'après mes informations pas très crédibles, Aghilés qui est incollable sur l'archi de notre pays pourrait peut être nous aider.

Je sais que le palmier a été planté en 75.

Sinon la fresque de Tafourah, il y'a au dessus la signature du peintre, ra7li assmou.
