I saw this one about a month ago in the paper. It looks interesting, not because of its height but because it completly blocks the million dollar views of the Gold Coast from Twin Towns new tower just across the street in NSW. Twin Towns is also selling a second tower.

Cool name for a tower.
I can't wait for Coolangatta and Tweed Heads to bulk up a bit. As long as the skyline between Burleigh and the border stays mid-rise, it will be great having a cluster of towers standing sentinel alone at the end of the coastline.

I can't find any mention of this project on the website - am I missing something?

Does the render make it look long, or is it really gonna be that long. Cul you know how many metres?
Reminds me a lil of the long Hong Kong style apartment blocks

hmm just wondering what blocks this place is taking up, im just curious if this place is getting build on the McDonalds site down there.

I hope this place has retail at the bottem like the nearby Oasis, Oasis really changed the feel of coolongatta with all the retail.

A search on google shows that On The Beach Motel currently occupies this site (118 Marine Parade). McDonalds is apparently next to the motel. I don't know if McDonald's is to be demolished though.

The website has a map which indicates that Reflection is on the block between McDonald and Clarke Streets and also has a frontage to Griffith Street (the main street through Coolangatta).

I like Coolangatta's skylines. It doesn't have the height. But it has style.

Agree....

However related to this I noticed on the official site that a Reflection Tower Two is in planning, great news:

The first stage of Reflection on the Sea proved that Greenmount’s time has well and truly come. spectacular success of Niecon’s first apartment development on the north facing beach where the Gold Coast begins has inspired a new social spirit along Coolangatta Esplanade.

Tower 2 is so much better.

Bloody hell, Greenmount Beach has gotten wide again. They must have moved the Tweed By-pass outlet back to the Point Danger.

didnt the pivitol cost $90 million?
or am i mistaken??:?

MrTall
January 5th, 2005, 10:47 AM
Looks like Niecon have replaced Essence with this one. Looks good and will certainly sell well!

^I think if Pivotal Point was being planned now it would cost more like $150m due to increased land values and construction costs.

Hey Cul, isnt that the wrong comparison? Isnt that reflection 1 under construction vs reflection 2 render?

Oriolus
November 1st, 2005, 03:56 AM
^^Yeh, you're right GMAC. I wonder when Reflections 2 is going to begin construction - as soon as the first tower is finished? Niecon's website says tower 2 is 70% sold so it should be full steam ahead. Reflections 1 is looking good.
