The tallest tower in Gandraliskes - Kursas, was approved last week by the city council. 184 metres and 46 storeys tall.
Although, we will probable have to wait a few years till any further actions...
The heigh of the middle towers of Gandraliskes was also increased, to 75-100 metres.

And second tallest in our region.
Somehow this is great and somehow it's just sad this don't show up in ANY of our capitals.
But very nice proposal, a mix between the 200 m Escher Tower (Copenhagen) and Kim Utzon's 75-90 meter glass hotels (also CPH) Although a little to boxy for my taste..

This is one cool project, even if it would look even better inside a cluster. Fantastic news! :okay:
btw. if it has been approved by the city council, shouldn't the thread title be
KLAIPĖDA | Kuršas | 184m | 46fl | App

^ the 200 meter tower in tallinn is also approved, so this one would take 3rd and not 2nd place in our region :D
and i'd still like to know who's designed the project. anyone know?

I don`t know exactly, but it`s probably Donatas Rakauskas - the author of the whole project.

Looks good in the rendering. The only thing that worries me is implementation. If done well and without cutting costs for design elements this could be a truly iconic building. But knowing the story with current projects in Klaipeda (i.e. "the cheaper the better!") and with some projects in Vilnius, I'm a little worried that this one may also end up being a tall but cheap-looking box painted with cheap paint and cheap facade elements (like the first one known as "Pilsotas"). But 184 meters sounds exciting anyway... Imagine the view from the sea or the Curonian Spit in the evening. The Turning Torso of Klaipeda :)

^^ same concerns, but really hope not. This could become a really, really awesome building for sure.
