Greenwood Yard, the nerve centre of the TTC subway system, is opening its doors to the public on May 23 (http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/culture/doorsopen2009.nsf/BuildingsAll/ECD8ABB827299F93852575630047D146?OpenDocument) from noon to 5pm (be there by 4:30 or you're not gettin' in).

Greenwood Yard is responsible for all major repairs to the entire fleet (Wilson only handles minor repairs), including the SRT.

I heard about this a while ago.

Probably will be there right at opening. I have been waiting for this for a long time.

cool..... this brings a question to mind......
anyone know what was there before the yards? I'm guessing it was a quarry or brick works as were most parks and other giant swaths of land in the east end.
