Piazza Ducale in Vigevano

If I lived in Vigevano this would be my local for breakfast, lunch, dinner and perhaps after dinner.
One of the best achieved piazzas in Italy, often reported as a work by Leonardo da Vinci, who "only" deemed the square worth to be sketched in a sheet of his infact. Layout by Donato Bramante (1492).

I have two favourite squares in Bratislava:

the first is Liberty square, which I like because of his monumental look. Liberty square is the center of Bratislava government district, but is also sadly famous as place for alcoholic parties of youngsters :ohno:

Cincinnati is a unique gem in the United States. What really bothers me is that most Americans think this place is nothing special and wouldn't think twice before leveling it. Preservation is a constant battle here.

For city squares I think London is remarkable.. The city is full of squares:

One of the distinctive features of the city, and one if its best aspects, is the residential square, examples of which are everywhere.

Anyway I get the impression this thread is leaning towards civic squares. Obivously in London you have the big 5 in the west end - parliament square, trafalgar square, leicester square, covent garden and piccadilly circus.. In The City you have paternoster square, st pauls churchyard, finsbury square, but its much more stifled and dense - noticeable difference from the west end. probably why the west end has overtaken londoners perception as being more like the heart of the city since the victorian era.

Really a good job.

It used to be a dusty and sun-scorched parking lot before the renovation.

The square in Lima, Peru looks stunning.

Beautiful Plazas my friends all great! My favs so far are CINCI, LIMA, NYCs WASHINGTON SQUARE, and MONTEREY PLAZA.

Ive Noticed nobody has put up pix of TIMES SQUARE or UNION SQUARE in SAN FRANCISCO.

And also, Notice how my city (LA, USA) has no main (big) square, its not designed in our city scape........SAD :(

Sanam Luang (Thai: สนามหลวง) is an open field and public square in front of Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, Bangkok, Thailand. Sanam Luang is located in the Phra Nakhon district, the historic center of Bangkok.

Sanam Luang has been a multi-purpose area since Bangkok was founded, and the venue for Royal and official ceremonies in every reign. It has been a race track, a golf course, and the famous Weekend Market, which subsequently moved to Chatuchak Park.

At present, Sanam Luang is a park where people can relax in the historic heart of the city, while kite competitions, the ritual bathing of monks in Songkran Festival and the Royal Ploughing Ceremony are still carried out regularly every year.
