Owerri is a city in South-Eastern Nigeria. It is the capital of Imo State. It currently has a population of about 231,789 and is approximately 40 square miles (100 km2) in area.

I went through Owerre on my way to Aba last year and the city was truly beautiful. It's one of the most beautiful cities in Nigeria.

Its a very annoying thing.
If we had more thinking in leadership i would even like to see Keke/Okada lanes as well as walk ways so that all three elements don't cause a clusterfuck for each other as is typical on nigerian roads.

they say traffic in Owerri is as rough as anywhere in Nigeria now which never used to be the case because our roads are indiscriminate cement slabs. It's also stupid that some roads have lanes and others don't that clearly should.

i wish owerri would give up on using grass for landscaping. our grass doesn't grow as smoothly and evenly as grass in the west. they should fill the grassy edges with scrubs and pebble ponds where they can. it will make everything look 100x better.

But as it pertains to this thread. On my next trip to Nigeria I'll definitely get tons of pictures of Owerri. This thread must reach 6 pages. Owerri may not be as big as other cities,but it sure does have a lot more to offer than what is seen on this thread so far.

It's very under-photographed (online) so your efforts would be appreciated. I'm Nigerian American too, i lived there when i was 3-7 and used to go back every December until i moved out on my own 4 years ago.
