I think it's because Egyptian girls have nothing to do with skyscrapers or urbanity. Even though its a photo thread, it belongs in our soon to be shisha lounge. :D

Yeah, I wanted to move it to the Photo Forum some time ago, but the admins say that anything in the Photo Forum should be related to Urbanity (such as Cities, Airports etc.)

Well I thout we'd keep the term Egyptian on those threads because some people might post global news? Not us local forums ofcourse, im talking about outsiders.

Right guys after 6 months+ of Negotiation with egypt69, I finally succeed in persuading him for us to get new sub-forums. Yay! now we need your opinions in this matter so feel free to say what do you think you prefer. you are part of this forum and you have the right to ask for what you want to see.

so the 6 months+ Negotiation ended up with 2 new sub-forums. One of which will be under the Projects and Constructions sub-forum. and the other will be straight under the Egyptian forum.

The one under the Egyptian forum will be called Business, Economy and Infrastructure.

I tried to have it as Developments, Economy and Politics. but look like admins might have problems with Politics.

The other Forum which going to be in The Projects and Constructions sub-forum. will be either Greater Cairo sub-forum or Transport & Infrastructure you choose guys. what do you think would be better.

Also, we need to rename Photos Forum to Photos and Videos Gallery, what do you think guys?

and have under each forum it's little description. for example under SkyAhwa we have Discussion over Shisha and Mint Tea

Suggest what do you think would work good. for each forum. at the end we might end up with something like this.

Put Greater Cairo, because unfortunatly we don't have a lot of Transport and Infrastructure projects. We can put them in the Business, Economy and Infrastructure.

A suitable caption for the Business, Economy and Infrastructure may be :

but I though about it and Transport and Infrastructure projects doesn't include only transports but also infrastructure.

So that's projects like. Roads, Railway, Metro, Bridges, and Waterways. and in that case we need to think for a name for the others projects. which going to be Master plans, Mega satellite cities, skyscrapers, museums, business parks and resorts.

so in that case we need to think for a name for the other sub-forum. in the case for Greater Cairo can have Other Cities for the other projects or the projects can stay where it is. like where this topic is and above it you have the sub forums.

so the_egyptian, are you still preferring Greater cairo?

I prefer Greater Cairo.
Think about it; what will you put in the Business, Economy and Infrastructure. Wouldn't you put Infrastructure and Transport projects ?

Business, Economy and Infrastructure will have discussions not projects. we will talk about infrastructure in Egypt and it's news and Egypt's economy also business like Orascom, Egyptian companies and other stuff.

sooner or later we going to have a forum called Greater Cairo and Transport and Infrastructure and Alexandria will follow with it's own forum too. I can see that happening by next year, but let hope this forum get more traffic.

It's just do we have enough Cairo projects that maybe when next year comes isA and we take all the infrastructure and transport projects from the greater cairo forum will there be good number of topic or will half the topic disapear?

but if we get a transport and infrastructure forum when we get Cairo or Alexandria forum there will be no topics token from that forum. you see my point?

2 - A sub-forum inside Projects and Construction that has the name of Transport and Infrastructure Projects. This sub-forum has all projects related to Transport and Infrastructure.

3 - Business, Economy and Infrastructure forum that have only discussions about Business, Economy and Infrastructure related news. (If we do that, we will be forced to create a thread for each piece of news which we, unfortunately, have very little of them.

Another question is : What will we do with these threads :

and if those threads you mentioned managed to get more than 5 pages of news each. then that section is well worth it.

Why don't we create a Daily Egyptian weather thread so member could read information about the temperature? As for today, Egypt was ravaged by several sand and rain storm.

Because for most of the year, the weather doesn't really change in Egypt.

You can go ahead and do it, but it would be boring, its not like we're in Europe or N.America.

actually there are breaks of weather in Egypt the highways are always on fog storms and stuff. and Alexandria is always on storms, believe it or not in Alexandria the snow falls twice a year. but the thing is how many of us live in Egypt to actually care or post current updates and similar stuff, I think the thread would be alive for the next two weeks or month then it will die until the next year where the same thing would happen again. but it's a cool Idea hopefully when more people join we would it going pretty well :) 2ol ya rab :D


BTW egypt69 we need a section for Greater Cairo and Alexandria. I'll count up the threads for Cairo and Alexandria so you can see the ratio. BTW 6th of October and Giza are separate governorates do they count as Cairo?

77 Cairo Related Topics out of 152. which leave out 75 Other Cities. and would make a three pages sub-forum with the third page have only 5 projects.

Alexandria have 20 Projects which would mean a one full page of projects. sharm would have something similar too.

I think we might go for a Cairo Forum and a Read Sea Forum and leave the rest until they grow up when Alexandria reach 40 projects then we can ask for another forum or by that time we can ask for a Mediterranean Forum. I think Mediterranean wise we have like 36-8 topics which mean two pages but leave it until we have a total of 45 Mediterranean topics.

Now egypt69 can you ask for a Cairo sub Forum only Cairo not Greater Cairo. and A Read Sea Sub Forum. we will still have like three forums with at least 2 pages each I think.

If I'm going to ask for Sub-Forums, im going to ask for them all at once. I'm not going to install a Cairo Subforum, then wait for the rest.

If we have it, it needs to cover ALL of Egypt, so something like this:


Greater Cairo Metropolitan Area (Includes 6th of October and New Cairo)
Alexandria, The North Coast & The Nile Delta (to include Tanta, Damanhour etc)
Sinai and the Red Sea
Upper Egypt (Luxor, Aswan etc)

There's no forum called "Photo and Video" on SSC as far as I'm aware. Even though its called the "Photo Forum", you're also allowed to post videos there, don't worry :)

Each of the Blue, underlined words, are their own sections, not just descriptions. So don't worry ;)

Oh no i meant that cairo forum will be out next to the photo forum, skyahwa and others not under the projects forum so it's not only projects forum but we also talk about other stuff regard cairo.

If you go to the uk forum each city have a forum so i was thnking this is one step to the format we might get when we be in the front page.

Well if we did that, it wouldn't be fair to leave out all the other cities. Plus we have the "Economy, Business & Development News" to discuss news.

Really, this was the most I could ask for, considering the level of Activity in this forum.

for example rename the photo forum to photo forum/Montada al sewar (in arabic char)
