More and aggressive steps need to be taken to increase the representation of women and minorities in areas of employment (example: Ethiopian Airlines as a national airline must be obligated to employ minorities as crew members), education, and business from which they have been historically excluded - I am sick and tired of pompus Oromo, Amhara & Tigray attitude.....

She is beautiful in a very classy way. I guess it fits her to have a good position and a lot of abilities. With her kind of qualifications she really has many doors open for her, regardless of her past. I personally would never judge someone for being different. I wish I could speak all those languages :shock: I can only speak English, Norwegian and Swahili. She must have climbed a huge cliff to get where she is. I hope she gets the job :D.

Yes I see a trace of Abesha in her. I have to tell you though if I saw her on the streets I wouldn't know she is mixed with Abesha, her Asian features are very dominant. That is the thing though, most mixed people look mostly the parent other than the Ethiopian.

I think I was frank about my comments and did say I only noticed it after looking again....which clearly means that on first look, I made no such observation because of the initial assumption that she was all female (and subconscious approval of anything that may have stood out).

I don't see why me going back for a more thorough look, with (obvious) intent to look for signs to confirm what you are saying, should be a problem or why my comment should be denigrated to being "stupid."
For you to deny that there are not even the slightest hints of masculinity in her would be for you to deny she was ever born with male genitalia. I mean, you readily acknowledge that, so why is it bad for me to say that I do see some legacy hints of that?....it's not so conspicuous but I do see it.

well, if it is due to surroundings how comes me and my brother are not transsexual? we were brought up in exactly the same environment....so that doesnt really make sense. how can you say you aren't born transsexual? have you read studies on transsexuals and do you understand anything about them? if you have, you can make your statement, which in any case is not 100% the case with all transsexuals, of course there are some who are influenced by their environment. but unless you have done thorough research and spoken to doctors about the condition (which I have) then I dont think its fair to make such a strong definitive judgement.

Like I said, I'm annoyed by it as much as the next guy. My parents, like your parents had a very basic straightforward understanding of 'Habesha' and it was never a subject of dispute. But trust me, if you ever visit MN, you'll quickly notice that things are different there. I don't think the problem is where u grow up and have money or not rather knowing about this idiot past history taught by OPDO (EPRDF).

I happen to have a friend whose families are shewa oromo, we grow up in addis and was my best friend. We join AU together and till he met this group called OPDO cadres he was a proud Ethiopian and never had ethnic bias, after one summer he spent in JIMMA for some sort of summer camp for learning the history and tradition of oromo, he become so defensive in oromo issues and start to deny him being Ethiopian. We started to argue on this issue so often after that and started to isolate himself from a little group we had. I don't actually know what he learned from that summer political camp, but that changed his political view completely.

This can be a whiteness even oromos from Addis will develop extreme views when they had a chance to learn this abdula version of past history which i guess related to Minilik.
