UPDATE - 3:04PM - TMZ is reporting that singer Michael Jackson has died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

--------------

Earlier information:

Pop singer Michael Jackson was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital today in cardiac arrest, according to various online reports.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Devin Gales could not confirm the report, but said paramedics did respond to a home in the 100 block of Carolwood Drive at 12:21 p.m. on a medical call, and the person was taken to UCLA Medical Center.

LAFD Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times, however, that the 50- year-old singer was not breathing when paramedics arrived.

TMZ.com reported that Jackson was picked up at 12:21 p.m. at a Holmby Hills home, and paramedics administered CPR in the ambulance.

Jackson's father, Joe, told E!Online that he was contacted in Las Vegas and was told his son had been taken to a hospital.

"His mother is on her way to the hospital now to check in on him," Joe Jackson said. "I am not sure what's wrong."

Jackson, 50, was in the midst of preparing for a series of concerts in London.

Details are still coming in about this breaking story. Check back for updates.

"I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words.

Divinity brought our souls together on The Wiz and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout the 80's.

To this day, the music we created together on "Off The Wall," "Thriller" and "Bad" is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it all...talent, grace, professionalism and dedication.

He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever.

I've lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."

He said siblings Randy, Jermaine and LaToya were all at the UCLA Medical Center and inconsolable.

One of Jackson’s closest friends and collaborators was Quincy Jones, his first statement sums up how most fans feel:

He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I've lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."

Rev. Al Sharpton, who was also close to the tragic superstar, said, “A friend of Michael’s for the last 35 years, I call on people around the world to pray for him and his family in the hour. Michael Jackson: Fans gather outside pop singer's home [Updated] (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/06/michael-jackson.html)

4:13 PM | June 25, 2009
About a dozen reporters and photographers were gathered outside Michael Jackson’s rented Bel-Air home this afternoon as a news helicopter hovered above. Several tourist vans also stopped by the house just off Sunset Boulevard as tourists snapped photos of the large, black wrought-iron gates adorned with two large wreaths decorated with red ribbons.
Tourist Sue Mossell, 46, and her two sons, Ryan, 7, and Jimmy, 12, who were visiting from Georgia, were among those milling outside the house, which was blocked from view by trees and shrubbery. Mossell said the family was on a star tour the day before that included the Jackson house and decided to drive back this afternoon after hearing the news.
“I was in shock,” she said. “I mean, who hasn’t heard of Michael Jackson? I think we’re going to hear a lot more of his songs.”
Another tourist, Angelina Winkvist, 28, who was visiting from Sweden, said she also took a tour a day earlier that stopped by the Jackson house and rushed back today after hearing that Jackson had been taken to the hospital.
“It’s huge,” Winkvist said of Jackson’s death. “He’s one of the biggest stars in the world.”
A neighbor, Roxana Radnia, 21, said she had no idea the pop star was living at the house. She said she always saw cars parked out front and had worried about possible drug activity. Radnia said she was walking her dog, Maddie, about 1 p.m. today and saw three ambulances outside the house and a lot of commotion.
“I didn’t know what was going on,” she said. She said she was a big fan of Jackson and his music and had been looking forward to his comeback tour.
“He’s amazing,” she said. “I can’t believe this happened.”
[Updated at 4:35 p.m.: Karina LeBlanc, 29, a member of the Los Angeles soccer team Sol, who lives a block from Jackson’s Bel-Air house, said she drives by every day on her way to practice.
She said she saw Jackson once as he and his entourage were arriving at the house. LeBlanc said she heard helicopters hovering above the neighborhood this afternoon and turned on her TV to find out what was going on.
She said she was deeply saddened by the news. She said her soccer team always listened to his music before a game, particularly the song “Man in the Mirror.”
“He’s got the beat,” she said. “His music is so riveting and inspiring.”
She said the news was especially distressing because Jackson had gone through such a tough time in recent years. Still, it was hard to believe that he was dead, she said.]

Michael Jackson, R.I.P. (http://idolator.com/5247102/michael-jackson-rip)

http://idolator.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/michael-jackson-thriller.jpgMichael Jackson’s death at age 50 this afternoon came as a shock, despite his obviously frail condition and the constant rumors that his health was even worse than it seemed. “I’ve never known a world without Michael Jackson,” a socially networked friend of mine managed to get out through those sites’ seeming paralysis over the news, and I could say the same thing. It’s very tempting to say that Jackson was something of a mirror of the past 40-ish years of popular culture, from his family’s band’s beloved singles in the ’60s and ’70s to his boundary-breaking solo career that followed to the celebrity-spectre existence, which started off as funny stories about chimps and hyperbaric chambers before snowballing into scurrilous details about lawsuits and breathless tabloid reports, that threatened to define his final days. Jackson’s voice was a technical marvel (http://www.rollingstone.com/news/coverstory/24161972/page/25) that caused the admittedly stellar material he often had to work with to soar, to become indelible in the minds of pop fans all around the world, to inspire them to sing along.

MTV is actually breaking from its all-self-degradation-all-the-time playlist to show videos from Jackson’s body of work, and what with him being an artist who helped define the earliest parts of the music-video era–he did, remember, represent the breaking down of the color barrier on the formerly AOR-heavy channel thanks to the power of the sinuous “Billie Jean”–I think it’s more than fitting for us to do the same. This is hardly all of his body of work; every time I think I’m about to hit “publish,” I think of another video to add. Feel free to fill in any gaps in the comment section.

Shocking and sad news indeed. Michael may been in the news for all the wrong reasons the last several years of his life, but back in the day, in his prime, in his heyday, in the 70s and 80s, he truly was the King of pop.
I was a senior in high school when "Thriller" came out, and man, to me and my friends, Michael Jackson was like a God! We would emulate his style, his dance moves, his wardrobe; if you rummage through old photos of me and my friends from 1985 you'd see that I was almost always wearing white socks or no socks at all. We were all trying to emulate Michael Jackson, our idol.
Rest in peace, Michael. We know you are in a better place now...

Jackson Danced and Sang Last Night (http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/25/jackson-danced-and-sang-last-night/)

We've learned Michael Jackson showed no unusual signs of distress -- he was rehearsing his upcoming concert at the Staples Center in L.A. But, we're told, like other nights of rehearsal, Jackson was both hours late and lethargic.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/06/0625_staples_ex.jpg

We're told rehearsal went late into the evening. Jackson was singing and dancing with the backup dancers and the band. Someone who was there says Jackson was supposed to show at 7 PM but didn't arrive until 10 and he was "listless." But that was normal, according to people at rehearsal.

Right now, some of the cast and crew are at Staples, packing up their stuff.

Madonna 'Can't Stop Crying' Over Michael Jackson

The sudden death (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20287781,00.html) of Michael Jackson jolted his friends and family, a second blow to the entertainment world after it lost (http://www.people.com/people/package/article/0,,20240623_20240288,00.html) another icon, Farrah Fawcett, just hours earlier.

"I can't stop crying over the sad news," Madonna (http://www.people.com/people/madonna) says. "I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."

Lisa Marie Presley, who was briefly married to Jackson in the mid-1990s, says, "I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible. I am heartbroken for his children, who I know were everything to him, and for his family. This is such a massive loss on so many levels, words fail me."

"My heart is overcome with sadness for the devastating loss of my true friend Michael," adds Brooke Shields, who raised eyebrows when she briefly dated Jackson. "He was an extraordinary friend, artist and contributor to the world. I join his family and his fans in celebrating his incredible life and mourning his untimely passing."

Elizabeth Taylor, one of Jackson's closest and longstanding friends, was "too devastated" to issue a statement, her rep says, while Quincy Jones, who produced Jackson's biggest hits, says, "I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words."

Photo by: Alpha / Globehttp://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2009/news/090706/lisa-marie.jpgCher, calling in to Larry King Live on CNN, shared many memories of Jackson, including dancing together on the Queen Mary and seeing the musical Dreamgirls together. "I am having a million reactions," said Cher. "When I think of him, I think of this young boy, this teenager I first met … He was a great teenager, optimistic and adorable."

She also praised his talent. "He was a great singer. You can't write him off as just a pop [star]. He was a genius like Ray Charles … He had a gift… He was able to connect with people."

Whitney Houston, who has battled her own demons and is on the verge of a comeback, just as Jackson was, released a statement saying simply, "I am full of grief."

Actress Jane Fonda used Twitter to express her grief writing, "I am stunned. My friend, Michael Jackson is dead. He lived with me for a week on the Golden Pond set after 'Thriller.' "

Neil Portnow, president of the Recording Academy, which honored Jackson with 13 Grammys, says, "Rarely has the world received a gift with the magnitude of artistry, talent, and vision as Michael Jackson. He was a true musical icon."

Life & Style reports that Michael Jackson was taking a cocktail of up to seven prescription drugs in the months before his death.
And a Jackson family lawyer told CNN he "feared" the drugs could kill the pop star.
The star had been taking prescription painkillers including anti-anxiety drugs Xanax, Zoloft and painkiller Demerol in recent months, sources close to Jackson told Life & Style. The insider close to the star said he took a suspected overdose of drugs on Thursday morning, which caused respiratory and cardiac arrest.
Jackson family lawyer Brian Oxman confirmed Jackson may have had trouble with prescription drugs as he prepared for his London show.
"This was something which I feared and something which I warned about," Oxman said on CNN. "I can tell you for sure that this is something I warned about. Where there is smoke there is fire."
Mr Oxman compared Michael to Anna Nicole Smith, alleging that Michael had 'enablers' just like her.
CNN details Jackson's long history of medical problems here (http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/06/25/michael.jackson.heart.health/index.html).
Meanwhile, Hollyscoop reports that doctors visited Jackson "daily." THe site's latest update:
While news of Michael Jackson's death came as a shock to many, inside sources tell Hollyscoop exclusively that the King of Pop "had doctors visiting him daily."
Michael went into cardiac arrest Thursday afternoon and was rushed to UCLA Medical Center around 1pm. His personal physician was with him at the time and accompanied him to the hospital.
At approximately 1:14pm when he arrived at the hospital, doctors and emergency personnel performed CPR and tried to resuscitate him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at 2:26pm.
The cause of his death is still unknown, but an autopsy is scheduled for this coming Friday afternoon. Michael was transferred from UCLA Medical Center to the coroner’s office via a Los Angeles Sheriff's helicopter shortly after 6pm.

Michael Jackson: Recent medical screening 'declared him healthy' (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/06/michael-jackson-2.html)

4:33 PM | June 25, 2009
Those close to Michael Jackson say he had been working diligently to get back in shape for his planned comeback next month in London.
A year ago, he was gaunt and using a wheelchair, but in preparation for a 50-show run in London, he was exercising with a trainer in addition to daylong rehearsals with dancers half his age. He also was a strict vegetarian.
“He’s working out. He’s in great shape,” his manager, Frank Dileo, said last month.
In order for concert promoters to get insurance for the concerts, which were scheduled to begin July 13, Jackson underwent a four-hour physical in Los Angele this spring with an independent doctor flown in from New York.
Rand Phillips, the chief executive officer of promoter AEG Live, said in an interview last month that the medical screening uncovered “no issues whatsoever.”
“He declared him healthy,” Phillips said. “His cholesterol level is better than mine.”
But a physical may not have revealed a looming heart attack, Dr. John Harold, a Cedars-Sinai Medical Center cardiologist, said.
“This is the type of patient who could have a stress test the day before and it could be completely normal and the next day could have a plaque rupture and a fatal heart attack,” said Harold, who did not treat Jackson.

I can't find the words right now to express how deeply sadden [sic] I am by Michael's passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only Pop music, but of all music. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

whoa...it was a complete surprise. Last I heard of him he was "coming back", with his concert tours. He was so young! Even if it was pills (which is really stupid for people to start assuming things like this), I'm sure he was taking them because of all the stress he's had to endure throughout most of his life.

Yes, you are right. But most of the folks there already knew about that. Michael Jackson's star at the Chinese Grauman's Theater was blocked off due to the Bruno world movie premiere and people were told it wouldn't be available until 9 a.m. the next day. Nobody was allowed near that star and many people were initially pissed off, but they eventually migrated to the OTHER Michael Jackson's star (the radio personality). I don't think they were intentionally trying to desecrate that star, but wanted a place to celebrate in spirit the life of Michael Jackson (the musical legend) and for others it was a place to mourn I guess.

The Sun is reporting shortly after the injection, Jackson's breathing got "slower and slower until it stopped."

We cannot confirm this story. We can say, however, that after Jackson was badly burned during the filming of a Pepsi commercial, he became addicted to painkillers and ended up at the Betty Ford Clinic. As for the painkillers, there are reports he was given Demerol.

In addition, during the child molestation trial, cops seized syringes and drugs, including Demerol.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/06/0626_rowe_52728808_ex-copy.jpgDebbie Rowe is poised to take full custody of the two children she bore for Michael Jackson.

It has been widely reported Debbie Rowe gave up her parental rights to Paris and Michael Jr. That is not true.

During the custody fight that Rowe had with Jackson in 2005, she attempted to give up her parental rights, saying Michael was the greatest father ever. Retired Judge Stephen Lachs, who presided over the hearing, initially ruled her rights were terminated ... but then Lachs reversed his decision.

Here's what happened. We spoke with Lance Spiegel, the lawyer who repped Jackson at the time. Spiegel says under the law, the Department of Children and Family Services must conduct a parental fitness investigation before parental rights are terminated and that didn't happen with Rowe.

So Rowe has never given up any of her parental rights. As a result, under California law, Rowe is now presumed to be the person who will get custody. The only way Rowe can be denied custody is if a court determines it would be "detrimental to the children."

As for whether Rowe will ask for custody .... our sources say you can bet on it. We're told if Rowe gets custody she will get "a huge amount of child support from Jackson's estate."

On Friday, the late singer was enjoying the commercial revival that had been eluding him in recent years, due to a lack of new material and public interest.
Michael Jackson albums took top 15 slots on Amazon.com top 50 album downloads. The story was the same on iTunes where the late singer's albums dominated seven out of the ten top slots on the site.
The 25th anniversary reissue of Jackson's 1982 album, "Thriller," which is the top selling album of all time, is at the top spot on Amazon.com. It was followed by a special reissue of 1979 album "Off the Wall" and 1987 album "Bad."
His last studio album "Invincible," which he released in 2001 came in at number 10, perhaps reflecting the public's preference for Jackson's earlier work.
On European online music retailer Play.com sales of Jackson's 10 most popular albums increased by a staggering 7,860 percent. Meanwhile, searches on Michael Jackson are up 8,900 percent and total downloads on the site have increased 5,167 percent.
The public's unprecedented rush to buy Jackson's albums has been likened to the the reaction when other music icons like Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra died.
"There are an awful lot of people that think his contribution to music was huge, and as an artist he was so talented -- even though he was such a complicated artist, particularly towards the end of his life," Stuart Rowe Chief Operating Officer of Play.com told CNN.
"People want some kind of memento. They want to appreciate and listen to his music again, and mark his passing by listening to it all again."
According to Rowe because of their quality, many of Jackson's albums are perennial bestsellers, and while there was also some increase in interest in his music because of his sold out 50-date London tour which was scheduled to kick off in mid-July.
"But nothing like the effect of the news," said. "It's taken this for his music to be brought to a whole new generation of people."
Five of Jackson's solo albums -- "Off the Wall," "Thriller," "Bad," "Dangerous" and "HIStory," are among the top-sellers of all time, according to Jackson's label Sony Music.
During his career, Jackson sold an estimated 750 million records worldwide, released 13 No.1 singles

Michael Jackson autopsy underway; ME to test for Demerol, painkiller linked to death

http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2009/06/27/alg_jacko_comeback5.jpg HO Michael Jackson, seen above at a rehearsal, had reportedly been taking painkillers for several months as he struggled to get in shape for his comeback performances.

An autopsy was underway Friday on case number 2009-04415, better known to millions of heartbroken fans as Michael Jackson (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Michael+Jackson), the King of Pop.
Weilding the knife was the chief Los Angeles County (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Los+Angeles+County) coroner Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran, a heavy hitter who was a star witness in the O.J. Simpson (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/O.J.+Simpson) murder trial.
"Family will not be there," his spokesman, Lt. Brian Elias (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Brian+Elias), told The Daily News earlier. "It's not known if any representatives for LAPD (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Los+Angeles+Police+Department) will be there."
While Jackson family insiders suggested prescription drug abuse - specifically Demerol (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Demerol) - might have caused the 50-year-old superstar's heart to stop, Elias said it will be several weeks before toxicology results are ready.
Pressed on early reports that Jackson died of cardiac arrest, Elias said, "Everybody's heart stops, it's very non-specific."
Meanwhile, detectives were seeking to question Jackson's personal physician, who was summoned to his rented house on Sunset Blvd. on Wednesday night when he first fell ill.
"Michael Jackson's personal physician's car was impounded," said Officer Richard French, an LAPD spokesman.
"The car might contain medication or other evidence that could assist the coroner in determining the cause of Michael Jackson's death."
French did not identify the doctor, who was with Jackson on Thursday when he stopped breathing and tried to resuscitate him.
Paramedics were called to Jackson's home at 12:26 p.m. and they worked on him for 45 minutes before rushing him to UCLA Medical Center (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/UCLA+Medical+Center).
There, doctors took over and tried to revive Jackson for nearly an hour before pronouncing him dead at 2:26 p.m. While Jackson suffered from a host of health problems, his reported addiction to prescription drugs fueled speculation he overdosed.
TMZ.com (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/TMZ.com+Inc.) quoted a Jackson family member as saying the Gloved One - a brilliant but eccentric music icon - was receiving a daily dose of Demerol.
London (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/London)'s Sun newspaper reported that he had trouble breathing after his morning shot Thursday.
"He started to experience slow, shallow breathing," a source told the paper.
"His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped. His staff started mouth-to-mouth and an ambulance was called which got there in eight minutes."
The major hazards of Demerol, a synthetic drug similar to morphine, are breathing and circulation problems and cardiac arrest, according to the Food and Drug Administration (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Food+and+Drug+Administration).
Jackson family attorney Brian Oxman (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Brian+Oxman) suggested injury-prone Jackson was being overmedicated as he geared up for a grueling 50-show comeback tour this summer.
"I have warned of the use of prescription medication and people who have enabled the use of those medications," Oxman told CBS (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/CBS+Corporation).
"I do not know how much he has taken, I don't know what his current situation is in the last couple of weeks. Over the last several years I have said to family members that he is overmedicated."
People magazine (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/People+Magazine) also reported Friday that Jackson's siblings staged an intervention three years ago in a bid to get him off of stuff.
"Michael got p---ed off," a family insider told the magazine. "He said he wasn't on drugs. But they didn't believe him."
Detectives searched Jackson's home after he died but have not said what - if anything - they found.
Jackson had been training for his soldout London concerts with "Incredible Hulk" star Lou Ferrigno (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Lou+Ferrigno).
He reportedly showed up to rehearsal at the Staples Center (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Staples+Center) on Wednesday.
Known as the "King of Pop" for his musical achievements and "Wacko Jacko" for some of his antics, Jackson was one of the best-selling and most-honored artists in modern music history.
But his star was tarnished by accusations of child molesting and other strange antics.
His longtime publicist Bob Jones (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Bob+Jones) said Jackson ordered anonymously "leaked" stories that made him sound weird - including sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber - as a joke on the gossip industry.
The joke backfired.

Wow, this is hitting the world pretty hard.

Finally, he'll rest. He's been on a lifetime of pain and unhappiness, loneliness and confussion of where he belongs.

I don't think anyone knew much of him till now, and I think in my opinion, everything he kept inside him that now we know, redeems him.

Unique being.

Tourists flock to Michael Jackson sites; tour buses adjust their routes
One tour company plans to add a stop at Jackson's rented Holmby Hills home. In Los Angeles, the Grammy Museum extends a wardrobe exhibit devoted to the singer.
By Hugo Marti'n and W.J. Hennigan
From the Los Angeles Times
June 27, 2009

Crowds of Southern California visitors, already mourning the death of Michael Jackson at popular tourist spots all over Los Angeles, are expected to salute the King of Pop all weekend on tour buses and vans, in museums and at Hollywood landmarks.

At the new Grammy Museum in the downtown entertainment center LA Live, a steady stream of visitors checked out an exhibit of Jackson's sparkling wardrobe Friday, and more were expected today.

Friday was "one of our biggest days," museum spokeswoman Katie Dunham said. "I think this weekend is going to be big for this exhibit."

The effect on tourism in Hollywood began to grow Friday at Jackson's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, near Grauman's Chinese Theatre, where so many fans gathered that some couldn't get close enough to see it. There were so many television crews at Jackson's Holmby Hills home that police temporarily closed off Carolwood Drive to tour buses.

A family of seven from Frederick, Md., tried to leave a bouquet of wildflowers at Jackson's star but were turned away by mourners and security officers.

"We wanted to pay our respects," said Alma S. Perkins, the matriarch of the group. "We are all big fans."

Dearly Departed, a tour bus company that offers a Hollywood Tragical History Tour, plans to include a stop at the Holmby Hills home where paramedics were called Thursday to try to revive Jackson.

The tour now includes stops at Hollywood's Viper Room, where actor River Phoenix died of a drug overdose in 1993, and the Beverly Hills home where mob figure Bugsy Siegel was slain in 1947.

Scott Michaels, owner of the tour company, suspects that the calls for a Jackson stop on his tour will increase as tourists recover from the shock of the death. "Right now, people are just reeling from it," he said.

A bus for Starline Tours, Hollywood's largest tour company, had stopped in front of the Holmby Hills home Thursday just as paramedics were transporting Jackson to UCLA Medical Center. The home had been a regular stop on the tour.

Driver Wendy Harris said a passenger got a phone message that Jackson had died. When the bus arrived at the home, encircled by police and reporters, Harris said she knew the news was accurate.

"I always play [the song] 'Billie Jean' when we arrive at the house and everybody knows it, no matter where they are from," she said. "This time, the mood was really somber. It wasn't the usual exciting, upbeat mood."

Starline spokesman Klaus Ritter said business jumped after the news of Jackson's death. "I wish we had more buses," he said. "These sort of things happen pretty quickly."

At the Grammy Museum, an exhibit of Jackson's wardrobe, including the suit he wore on the cover of the "Thriller" album, was scheduled to close but instead was extended.

"The Grammy Museum is excited for this rare chance to share this material with our visitors," Chief Curator Ken Luftig Viste said. "Michael Jackson is undeniably one of the most significant entertainers in pop music history."

Celebs battle Perez Hilton on Twitter
Say his Michael Jackson stance is hypocritical
Michael Jackson dead at 50: (http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/feature/topic/0,,5019113,00.html) All the stories, tributes and photos

A PUBLIC catfight has broken out online in the aftermath of Michael Jackson's death.
Perez Hilton has been blasted by Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, and angry Twitter users following his treatment of the news, and subsequent about-face.
Perez's initial blog post allegedly pictured Michael Jackson with the caption – "heart attack or just cold feet?" (http://twitpic.com/8et2f) - claiming the news could be a Jackson ploy to get out of performance commitments.
But as soon as Jackson's death was confirmed, Perez's bitchy stance wasn't anywhere to be found. The blog changed, and so did Perez – as he made it known on Twitter.
When comedienne Sarah Silverman (http://search.news.com.au/search//0/?us=ndmnews&sid=5014239&as=news&ac=technology&q=Sarah Silverman)tweeted an ill-timed joke, Perez immediately chastised her.
@SarahKSilverman (https://twitter.com/SarahKSilverman): "Did you hear Michael Jackson's kids are free? That's not nice. I'm sorry. Ugh, I feel bad for saying that. LOOK A BLUE (http://search.news.com.au/search//0/?us=ndmnews&sid=5014239&as=news&ac=technology&q=LOOK A BLUE)CAR!"

There are none so bereft of talent as those who grab the opportunity to jump on the back of those who have!! Why people don't just ignore this loser says more about them than an...

@PerezHilton (https://twitter.com/PerezHilton) replied: "@SarahKSilverman I love you, but that's low!"
And then Silverman called him on it:
@SarahKSilverman: "@PerezHilton You're right (...) Not in my human being head. Uch. so sad. -- wait - you're brutal to people!"
It wasn't long before other stars – particularly Pete Wentz, bassist for Fall Out Boy - noticed the hypocrisy and ran to the virtual fight.
@petewentz (https://twitter.com/petewentz): "@PerezHilton u can't make ur life tearing someone apart, who is a human being, and then flip on a dime and say respect and mourn him."
Wentz's wife, singer Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, also went on the offensive:
@ashsimpsonwentz (https://twitter.com/ashsimpsonwentz): "@perezhilton - wouldn't it be nice to live in a judgment free world. Life is short. I know u got a heart there somewhere. Decide what side ur on."
The public conversation exploded into a high-school-style catfight, with Pete and Perez hurling insults as Ashlee and John Mayer cheered from the sidelines:
@petewentz: "@PerezHilton I don't think ur a monster. Just own up to tearing ppl like mj down- and let him rest in peace."
@PerezHilton: "@petewentz You're right! I agree with you! I should say spit on his/her grave and laugh! Ha ha. Ding dong. The witch is dead!"
The micro-blogging service was crashing as thousands of tweets about Jackson poured in each second - but the high-profile fight continued.
@PerezHilton: "@johncmayer (http://twitter.com/johncmayer) The people that read my site every day know what Im about & who I am. THEY are the ones that matter to me. Not U or anyone else."
@ashsimpsonwentz: "@perezhilton would u imagine if someone said the things u say about my sister, about ur sister? Come back to the human race man."
Ashlee and Pete kept Tweeting as Perez went quiet – but within a few hours, everyone seemed to have made up.
@petewentz: "Wanna say sorry for lashing out.It was a toddlerlike emotional reaction. its just cos mj feels like he's part of our collective cultural fam"
@PerezHilton: "@petewentz I'm sorry (http://search.news.com.au/search//0/?us=ndmnews&sid=5014239&as=news&ac=technology&q=I'm sorry)too. And I am truly sad for his passing and the loss his kids are experiencing, something I know first-hand."
There is now a Twitter movement to unfollow, or unsubscribe, from Perez Hilton based on his blog coverage.

Michael Jackson's Mom Fears Looting (http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/29/michael-jackson-finances-probate-will-death/)

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/06/0625_michael_jackson_ex4.jpgThe lawyer for Michael Jackson's mother filed documents in court today, sounding the alarm that people up to no good will try and fleece Michael's estate. The court had apparently had enough concern to make Katherine the administrator of the estate pending a hearing next Monday.

Katherine's attorney, Burt Levitch, claims there are numerous bank accounts of Michael's that are being controlled by third parties. He says the bank accounts are used "to pay expenses of [Michael's] parents' home." Levitch says these bank accounts need to be controlled so third parties don't misspend the money.

Levitch also says there is worry about Michael's stake in the Sony-ATV Music Publishing Catalog -- which includes Beatles' works -- that Levitch says is the most important asset in the estate. Levitch says no one is now representing Michael's interests and he wants Katherine to step in her late son's shoes.

Levitch says at least one person is claiming to have a power of attorney to act on Michael's behalf. Although a power of attorney would have ended when Michael died, Levitch worries that not everyone knows that and assets could be misappropriated.

And the family is questioning whether a will really exists, because no one has informed them of that fact. We're told attorney John Branca, who was re-hired by Michael three weeks ago, is in possession of a will.

Katherine has the right under the order "to control tangible personal property currently in the physical possession of a third party, and to marshall and secure such assets."

In a statement that was set to be released in a couple of hours -- that somehow leaked -- AEG promises "the refunds will be processed by each of the authorised ticket agencies (e.g. Ticketmaster, Viagogo, See or Ticketline)."

And the statement says fans "will have the option to be sent the actual tickets" for the show. Translation -- one hell of an expensive keepsake.

Michael Jackson's Last Art Purchase (http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/29/michael-jacksons-last-art-purchase/)

Michael Jackson bought some pretty expensive art two weeks before he died.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/06/0629_mj_paintings_launch_2.jpg (http://photos.tmz.com/galleries/michael_jacksons_paintings)

On June 11, Jackson purchased a picture of the Wicked Witch of the West, a painting called "The Donut Queen," and a painting called "Play Ball." The artist for all three works was Nelson De La Nuez. Jackson plunked down $13,000 for the three items, which were delivered to his home on June 15.

We're told Jackson was "obsessed" with the Wicked Witch painting.

Here's the weirdest part. Someone from AEG handled the money side of the transaction. We have the bank wire -- AEG dealt directly with the art seller.

STAPLES CENTER MEMORIAL UNDER CONSIDERATION
http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/trolltoast/album%202/uscllllll.jpg USC
The Jackson family continued this afternoon to plan a memorial service and funeral for Michael Jackson, with one source telling The Times that one plan involves a ceremony at Staples Center.

Under this scenario, which the source said is still very much in the planning stages, a public ceremony at Staples Center would be followed by a procession to Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara County. The source said that once there, friends, family and members of the music industry would participate in a memorial service on the grounds.

Sources in local law enforcement said they have not heard about a memorial in Los Angeles.

Lt. Butch Arnoldi of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department said the agency has not been approached by any members of the Jackson family about a memorial at Neverland.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/06/0627_mj_getty_88693232_bn.jpgThere's a hearing underway over Michael Jackson's will.

Here's the problem. On Monday, Katherine's lawyers got an order from the judge making Katherine the temporary administrator of her son's estate, based on her belief that no will existed.

Now that a will has been filed, the named executors want to make sure they have control over the assets and are asking the judge to nullify Katherine's power to move assets around -- even temporarily.

We're told there isn't a conflict between Katherine and the new executors -- it's just to button things up.

Jackson Riddled with Injection Marks (http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/01/jackson-riddled-with-injection-marks/)

Posted Jul 1st 2009 5:25PM by TMZ Staff (http://www.tmz.com/bloggers/tmz-staff/)
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/07/0625_michael_jackson_ex2.jpgMultiple sources tell TMZ Michael Jackson's body had dozens of injection sites all over his body.

As we first reported (http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/01/michael-jackson-propofol-lidocaine-overdose-criminal/), Propofol, a powerful anesthesia, was found in the house after Jackson died. Various medical experts tell us there is absolutely no medical justification for Jackson to have had this drug in his home -- it is used to knock people out before surgery. It is administered through an IV.

We're told Jackson wanted the drug to sleep and that he had cravings for anesthesia -- whenever he had even the most minor medical procedure ... he had the doctor put him under.

It is increasingly looking likePropofol may have caused Jackson to go into cardiac arrest and die. The doctors we spoke with say it's reckless for any doctor to supply Jackson with Propofol and especially reckless to administer it to him at home.

The fact that Jackson had dozens of injection sites on his body would have made it clear to any doctor that Jackson had a drug problem.

Criminal manslaughter is defined as the reckless disregard for human life. The talk in law enforcement -- this case seems to fit the bill.

That's the thing. There was no reason. The media and society are the ones "trying" to find a reason for his actions.

MJ was never conected to reality, and everyone around him just said YES to whatever he proposed, always looking out for crumbs!

Doctors, "friends", family members, they all contributed to his "disconection".
And of course he had the money to do absolutely anything.

After days of uncertain and often conflicting information, plans were announced today for a Tuesday morning memorial service at Staples Center to honor Michael Jackson.
http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/trolltoast/album%202/edfuentes5577888.jpg . abbreviated
17,500 free tickets for the service, scheduled for 10am, will be distributed to the public via a lottery. 11,000 will be for seats at the main service inside the Staples Center, with the remaining 6,500 seats at the Nokia Theatre. The area around L.A. Live will be closed off to the public, and no outside viewing will be set up.

A form has been set up on StaplesCenter.com for entry into the ticket lottery. Registration closes on Saturday at 6pm, after which 8,750 names will be chosen to receive a pair of tickets.

On Tuesday morning, police will close off the area around L.A. Live. Only those with tickets to the event will be allowed inside a perimeter set up at Flower street, Olympic, Blaine and Pico. Reports have said that 1,400 LAPD officers will be deployed to enforce the closures.

Despite the closures and the news of no outdoor viewings, the Associated Press quotes Assistant Police Chief Earl Paysinger as saying that he expects 250,000 to 700,000 people to try and make their way to the L.A. Live area.

Kudos! to our wonderful City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department, the Sherriffs Department, California Highway Patrol and AEG for showing the world how things are done in L.A.

Hardly any other city in the world could've organized such a massive and complicated undertaking and in so little time.

Spotless! perfect and with world class!

Cheers L.A.! (where do I donate to help out?)

That is ridiculous that he wouldn't want to be "Black". The African American community for a minority, so-called, is a magnificent influence on the American experience. Maybe he saw how awesome I was at "sockball" during lunch period, and I'm White! Honestly, he didn't want to "spend his life being a color" but I don't understand his wanting to be White. One can only imagine his reasoning.

Say thanks to daniel... he hated him, and all that he represented !
That's why he wanted to make everything to look like him not more, the nose, the color etc.... ands his childrens too !

PEACE MICHAEL RIP YOU WERE AND STILL STAY THE BEST

Were there any large gatherings in L.A? (apart from staples) I saw direct CBS footage from here in Australia, and it looked quite deserted around the city.

It was a really high quality service, very moving.

I guess we were all watching tv. I didn't see all of it but the parts I liked were: . Magic saying it was the greatest moment of his life to learn Michael ate KFC . Brooke Shields and her "What's with the glove?" . Usher's emotional performance and everything Smokey said after "I wrote that song..." . The girl with her parted hair and her cute ears (Paris?) I did not see, but saw later in the day- broke my heart. Went very well.

Jackson Death Certificate (http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/07/jackson-death-certificate/)

Posted Jul 7th 2009 10:13PM by TMZ Staff (http://www.tmz.com/bloggers/tmz-staff/)
We've obtained a copy of Michael Jackson's death certificate. On cause of death, it says "deferred."

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/07/0707_mj_death_cert.jpg (http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/0707_mj_deceased_wm.pdf)

It does say Forest Lawn Cemetery was a "temporary" disposition of the body. As we first reported the body will not go back to Forest Lawn. Final burial is pending at an unknown location.

Jackson's occupation is listed as "musician." The type of business is "entertainment." Years in occupation -- 45.

As for race, the word "black" is written.

The informant -- the person who gave the information for the death certificate -- is listed as La Toya Jackson.

The place of residence is not listed as the Holmby Hills home -- rather, it's listed as his parents' home in Encino.

Jackson Doc -- I'm Not MJ Enabler, Baby Daddy (http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/08/michael-jackson-doctor-arnold-klein-video/)

Posted Jul 8th 2009 8:18AM by TMZ Staff (http://www.tmz.com/bloggers/tmz-staff/)

Michael Jackson's longtime friend and dermatologist, Dr. Arnie Klein, was on "GMA" this morning -- shooting down accusations he prescribed MJ medication that could kill him and rumors he's the baby daddy ... sorta.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/07/0708_klein_gma_video.jpg (http://www.tmz.com/videos?autoplay=true&mediaKey=80374d87-6429-4cfa-90bd-22f7cea855ec)
Klein says he actually warned Michael certain drugs, like the opiate Dilaudid, were "poison" -- calling doctors who did supply Michael with prescription drugs "criminals."

As for those pesky paternity rumors, his ominous answer: "To the best of my knowledge, I'm not the father."

Phony people parade if you ask me. Not the fans so much as the star studded attendants. As evil as it sounds...even the daughters emotional "eulogy" seemed phoney. So the prestigious Jackson family does not want to foot the bill for their "loved one's" memorial service? Are we forgetting this guy was a suspected child molestor/pedofile? How about the fishy circumstances that surrounded those TWO incidents....like paying excessive amounts so someone's mouth can be kept shut.

Brookie Shields...her eulogy made me vomit in my mouth...Al Sharpton? Come on are you serious? "Your daddy was not strange?" So on top of being an opportunistic, hypocritical, hack of a public advocate he is dilusional? Amazing. Amazing stuff.

Bottom line?

Way, way, way, wayyy too much media coverage.
Phony eulogies from phony people at a service the phony family won't foot the bill for.
Fanatical fans that are literally committing suicide in MJ's name.
Other crazies and loony bins moon walking and holding up portraits of a man who was so uncomfortable in his own skin that by the time he died he looked like an asian woman.
Yet this was an icon? This is a guy who sang beautifully, danced incredibly and had a nice hokey pokey out look on life yet lived as a recluse among children on a fairy tale ranch...

Bottom Line? What a shame...and I'm not talking about the death of Michael Jackson.

Three days, I would feel bad and move on. A week would be a bit much but still appropriate...especially considering that it would linger on in the back pages of the news even longer but two weeks of headline news for what was generally a real creepy guy that became washed up in the 90's and still aint buried is disturbing.

Sorry if you found that offensive but just remember one thing...Michael didn't know you and didn't give a crap about you. Bury this sucker and let him rest in peace.

MJ Memorial Donations -- Next to Nothing (http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/08/mj-memorial-donations-next-to-nothing/)

Posted Jul 8th 2009 7:11PM by TMZ Staff (http://www.tmz.com/bloggers/tmz-staff/)
The city of Los Angeles has only received $17,000 of the $1.4 million it cost to put on Michael Jackson's memorial -- but it's not because MJ fans are cheap ... it's because of the complete failure of the official donation website.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/07/0708_michael_jackson_antonio_villaraigosa_getty_bn.jpg

The press release (http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/0708_mj_donations.pdf) from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa says, "The city's Information Technology Agency could not handle the high volume of traffic or adequately respond to receive contributions for several hours Tuesday afternoon ... for at least 12 consecutive hours Tuesday evening ... and periodically throughout Wednesday morning."

So Villaraigosa is begging MJ fans to go back to the website (http://mayor.lacity.org/index.htm) and cough up a donation -- but please, not all at once.

^^ It's not offensive, as half the country feels that way, but you almost sound like that dried up, mobbed up, blue haired, pontificating, holier than thou pastrami breathed' looser freak of a stickboy Congressman on Youtube. As much as you tried to "Apollo-gize" this circumstance, (if this had been your story), the Rockettes would have been dancing in the streets for the next two months over it. . I'm not too big on how this family tried to elevate itself over the common man these past 4 decades, but the career, heavily manufactured as it was, had nothing less than great impact. A big part of the soundtrack to our lives, back when pop music was music and not the take-the-money-and-run shit it is today. . I agree that Sharpton's assessment was the kind of thing you say to a crowd who wants to hear that sort of thing, and whatever relationships he had with other celebrities... well, that is not something I can relate to. . What I can relate to is the music and the effect he had on the entertainment of most people's lives. Confused as hell, he did the best he could with what he had and had a passion and work ethic that I strive to emulate. His comment that he was "never puffed up with pride or think I'm better than the next door neighboor" is reassuring of his humility, but what can't be ignored is the way he grew up, the interest in children and the plastic surgery, drug abuse and profligate lifestyle he indulged in. . I like children too and kids like me, but I don't want to spend too much energy getting intimately aquainted with them. That's something he didn't understand obviously. We will never know if he paid them off to save himself a trial, or to save his reputation as a human being from a shrewd, lying Family. Usually children don't lie about such things. Who's ever going to know. . If these performers are phony, they certainly didn't help their respective careers with their assignments. Mariah Carey and Usher and even Stevie Wonder all struggling to perform against their emotion. The kid at the end is just a kid, doing something anyone would find hard to do. . Now the "family" has to let the Trust go through it's paces and start earning the money needed to re-acquire the Ranch and do what the Presley family has done: Set up a self sustaining memorial attraction. . As for the coverage? Your national whores sucked on his death as much as anyone. . Jeez, hope A-Rod doesn't choke on his hot dog...

Whereabouts of Michael Jackson's body a closely guarded secret (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/07/whereabouts-of-michael-jacksons-body-closely-held-secret.html)

10:03 AM | July 8, 2009
In the run-up to Michael Jackson's public memorial, speculation abounded about the whereabouts of the pop star's body.

First, conventional wisdom held that Jackson would be buried at Neverland Ranch, and speculation swirled that the Santa Barbara County estate would be the site of his memorial service.

Then late Monday, a new slew of reports claimed Jackson had been buried before a private service was held for him at Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in the Hollywood Hills. Today, there was speculation he had been cremated.

When that apparently proved false, a new round of claims surfaced that an "empty coffin" had been taken to Staples Center for the public memorial -- despite the extraordinary security measures taken to shuttle the coffin from Forest Lawn to downtown Los Angeles.

After Tuesday's memorial service, one of the most frequently asked questions put to LAPD Chief William J. Bratton was where the body had been taken.

"We have to keep some secrets," Bratton said.

Sources familiar with the case told The Times the body was in safekeeping after being released to the family following the autopsy last week by the Los Angeles County coroner.

No final decision has been made about a time or place for a burial, and the whereabouts of the body will remain, as it has been for more than a week, a closely guarded secret.

The battle over the cost of Michael Jackson'smemorial has officially begun -- as an L.A. city councilman and the president of AEG traded licks today about who's responsible for the ceremony's hefty price tag.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/07/0709_mj_staples_aeg_lacity_88812292_88813122.jpg

Councilman Dennis Zine told KTTV today that taxpayers "are getting ripped off" because AEG made $50,000 by charging the media to use risers outside the venue. Zine said AEG should grow a pair and cough up some cash.

AEG President Tim Leiweke immediately swung back, saying Zine was out of line because the company helped secure funds for the L.A. Lakers championship parade last month.

No need to glorify a man addicted to anesthesia.

Everything is relative as far as our judgement in each other. I think you're wayyy off the reservation too, but that's me. . There may be a difference in the type of "addiction" experienced and fed by someone like Michael Jackson. When you are in denial or emotional anguish over your position or self image, the reasons for seeking out certain drugs differ from other reasons. Don't like your face? Change it. Have insomnia? Kill it. Other people who are insecure about their self image do other things to change their appearance: Get tattoo'd. Get pierced. Apply makeup. Stuff like that. . This wasn't someone who specialized in home invasion techniques to steal, kill and feed his addiction. He wasn't a social drinker or user. He never hurt others to get high in the street. No one's glorifying addiction. They're celebrating the music they know. The flawed man who gave it. They're speculating on his other stuff. . I guess you're still too young to fully understand life in its entirety. . I'm.. Looking at the Girl.. in the Mirror.................................................................... let's talk about A-Rod :)

^^ You don't personally know me to say I am way off the reservation. I don't even think I could give you any clear indication that I am. I'd like to know...you think I am way off the reservation because A.) you don't like me B.) You want to goof off as usual or C.) You're full of crap (as usual).
I'm curious in what way would you suggest I am off the reservation? And this is coming from a relatively level-head, college educated woman. I am opionated but who isn't?

p.s. That was a stupid comment. But I expect that kind of provocative and somewhat insulting type of editorial from you.

Back to the subject. Have insomnia? Take some ambien like a normal person...is your name Michael Jackson and you are not in the least bit normal? I guess drink until you pass out like any other abnormal and socially inept person.
Don't like the way you look? Have some moderate work done if you can, see as therapist...change your skin color and move your dermatologist into the house? Eh I dunno...

I am in the business of tattooing and piercing and clients of mine are in no way insecure in their reasoning for getting body art...it's a subculture and most people do it to express themselves in ways that nowadays that many others do as well. So not taboo any longer...piercings and the reasons for getting them vary. Some do it for vanity purposes and others, believe it or not, do it for sexual reasons. I agree with you about make-up and have thankfully never used any ever ( truth)...make-up means you are making up for something you do not have and I am against it as silly as that may sound. (You'll never catch me in Sephora)

I didn't say we are glorifying addiction (re-read) I am saying we are glorifying a man who was an addict.

And this thread has nothing to do with A-Rod so DO NOT BRING IT UP OR TAKE THE THREAD OFF TOPIC...

Jackson Used Employees' Names to Score Drugs (http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/10/jackson-used-employees-names-to-score-drugs/)

Posted Jul 10th 2009 2:10AM by TMZ Staff (http://www.tmz.com/bloggers/tmz-staff/)
Michael Jackson went to a variety of doctors to get strong narcotics and used multiple aliases (including the names of several employees), this according to notes compiled during the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's investigation back in 2004.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/07/0709_mj_aka_photo_launch_ex.jpg (http://photos.tmz.com/galleries/michael_jackson_drug_alias_2)

Sheriff's detectives interviewed Chris Carter, who worked as Jackson's bodyguard prior to the Sheriff's raid of Jackson's home in 2003. According to Sheriff's Department notes obtained by TMZ, Carter said he would get Xanax prescriptions for Jackson under various fictitious names. Carter told detectives that Jackson would even use his name and the names of other employees to score prescriptions.

In addition to using his name, Carter said Jackson would use the names of Frank Tyson (a Jackson employee who was a prominent figure in the molestation trial, having had numerous contacts with the accuser's family), Jesus Salas (Ranch manager) and Joe Marcus (another Jackson employee) to get prescriptions.

Various pill bottles were found at Jackson's Neverland Ranch. One bottle of Alprazolam (generic for Xanax) was prescribed for Frank Tyson by Dr. Arnold Klein. A bottle of Prednisone found at the Ranch was also prescribed by Dr. Klein in the name of Peter Midani.

A bottle of Percocet, a narcotic painkiller, was found with the name Michael Armstrong, prescribed by Dr. Gerald Labiner.

A bottle of ERY-TAB, an antibiotic, was found with the name "M,M." The prescribing doctor was Dr. Carey Logan from Las Vegas.

A prescription receipt from a pharmacy was found for Alprazolam (generic Xanax) and written for Frank Tyson by Dr. William VanValin. Another receipt from Dr. VanValin was for written for Xanax in the name of Manuel Rivera.

Even if his body is bleached, why can't he be considered African-American still? If a Caucasian went and got his entire body tanned to the point he looks black, and got surgery to get bigger lips and nose, I would still consider the person a Caucasian... just a somewhat deformed one. The person is still the same race, everything they did is just purely cosmetic.

Inspite of the LAPD, Police Chief's (Willie Bratton), warnings to stay away from Downtown LA, last Tuesday...A relatively boisterous (but orderly), and smaller than expected crowd (numbering about 1,000-2,000 souls), gathered out on the perimeter of the LA Live area against the wishes of the LAPD.

Personally, it was interesting to witness all the hoopla and being caught in the midst of a very festive crowd (a mixture of international media, law enforcement, looky-loos, and Michael Jackson fans from around the World),...in juxtaposition to the more somber, Michael Jackson Memorial, that was concurrently taking place inside the cavernous, Staples Center arena and watched live by hundreds of millions around the globe.

Joe Jackson wants to take kids on tour in 2010
Michael Jackson’s biographer says he plans to call them The Jackson Three
updated 1:03 p.m. PT, Mon., July 13, 2009
Joe Jackson is reportedly hoping to take Michael Jackson’s three children on tour in 2010, a biographer of the late “King of Pop” claimed on Monday.

Ian Halperin, a celebrity biographer claimed in The Sun Newspaper that a source close to the family told him Michael’s father already has plans for Prince Michael I, 12; Paris Michael Katherine, 11; and Prince Michael II (Blanket), 7.

“Joe wants the children to go on a world tour in 2010. He has also already offered recording contracts to two of Michael’s kids,” Halperin said.

“Now he is talking about getting them the world’s best backing band and taking them on tour as The Jackson Three,” he added.

Halperin told the publication that his source is concerned for the children and may soon speak out publicly. Additionally, the writer claimed a family member inside the Jackson camp is very upset over the patriarch’s plans.

“One of the family members is livid. He is saying Joe seems intent to do this no matter what,” Halperin said.

On Friday, during an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Joe hinted at the talents of Michael’s children.

“I keep watching Paris. She … wants to do something. And as far as I can see, well, they say Blanket, he can really dance,” Joe told “GMA.”

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for the Jackson family wasn’t immediately available for comment.

JACKSON CHEF RECALLS DOCTOR'S ROLE, FINAL DAYS
http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/trolltoast/album%202/reuters009.jpghttp://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/trolltoast/album%202/nickutap444.jpg .
LOS ANGELES – On the day Michael Jackson died, his personal chef says her first hint of something amiss was when his doctor didn't come downstairs to get the juices and granola he routinely brought the King of Pop for breakfast each morning.

Kai Chase, a professionally trained chef hired by Jackson to maintain a healthy food regimen, recalled the singer's final days in an interview with The Associated Press. She also spoke about the role of his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who is now the focus of a manslaughter investigation.

Chase said Tuesday that she had gotten used to seeing Murray coming and going from the mansion. The doctor usually arrived about 9 or 9:30 p.m. and would go upstairs to Jackson's room, and she said she would not see him again before she left — sometimes late in the evening — but understood he was staying the night.

In the morning, when she arrived for work, Chase said she would see the doctor coming down the steps carrying oxygen tanks. When Murray didn't come downstairs the morning of June 25, "I thought maybe Mr. Jackson is sleeping late," Chase said.

"I started preparing the lunch and then I looked at my cell phone and it was noon. About 12:05 or 12:10 Dr. Murray runs down the steps and screams, 'Go get Prince!' He's screaming very loud. I run into the den where the kids are playing. Prince (Jackson's oldest son) runs to meet Dr. Murray and from that point on you could feel the energy in the house change.

"I walked into the hall and I saw the children there. The daughter was crying. I saw paramedics running up the stairs."

At that point, Chase said, the small group that was gathered — the children, their nanny, a housekeeper and Chase — held hands and began to pray. As paramedics raced up to the room, Chase recalls, "We were all praying, 'Help Mr. Jackson be O.K.'

"Then everyone was very quiet." .
http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/trolltoast/album%202/r3878017872.jpg..................................................... http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/trolltoast/album%202/capt_c592cd0d362d46dbb05ecb26ba6c3e.jpg .
At about 1:30 p.m. she said security guards told her and other staff to leave the property because "Mr. Jackson was being taken to the hospital."

When she came outside, she said, ambulances were in the courtyard and a crowd had gathered.

Chase, 37, who has cooked for other celebrities and comes from a show-business family, was hired by Jackson in March, let go in May, then returned on June 2. She said the pop star's focus was on fresh, healthy food for him and the children.

She said she prepared meals for the family and occasionally for Murray. She said Jackson was in training for his upcoming shows in London and told her: "You have to take care of me."

On most days, she said, Murray would bring Jackson the special fruit juice drinks Chase prepared for him, followed by granola with almond milk. For lunch, Jackson would eat with the children from a menu that included such things as spinach salad and chicken.

Murray sometimes joined them for dinner, which might be a seared ahi tuna. She said the doctor conferred with her about the 50-year-old pop singer's food and made sure that he ate.

The only oddity was the oxygen tanks. Chase said she never asked about the purpose of the oxygen and she saw no sign that Jackson was on drugs or was in failing health.

"Normally in the morning, he would bring oxygen tanks from upstairs downstairs, one in each hand," she said.

Authorities searched Murray's Las Vegas home and medical office Tuesday as part of an investigation that included raids last week of his clinic and storage in Houston.

With toxicology reports pending, investigators are working under the theory that the powerful anesthetic propofol caused Jackson's heart to stop, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press. Murray told investigators he regularly administered the drug to help Jackson sleep, and had done so sometime in the early morning of June 25, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

Propofol is supposed to be administered only in monitored medical settings by trained personnel; the official told AP that Murray left the bedroom and returned to find the star unresponsive. Police have said Murray is cooperating and have not labeled him a suspect, and his lawyer, Edward Chernoff, has said the doctor "didn't prescribe or administer anything that should have killed Michael Jackson."

Like Murray, Chase said she was hired to accompany Jackson to London for his comeback concerts and the request was personally made to her by his 12-year-old son, Prince Michael II.

"Prince said, 'Daddy wants me to tell you he wants you to go to London with us,'" she recalled. "I said, 'Tell your daddy that I'm pleased and honored."

She said she had already filled out paperwork and submitted a copy of her passport to the Jackson staff and expected to leave for London on July 3.

On June 23, she said Jackson told her: "I'm packed and I'm ready to go." Two days later, he was dead.

It was the end of her dream job and an idyllic time in Chase's life, a time that had begun in March with a call from Jackson's assistant, Michael Williams. She was told that "a client" wanted her services as personal chef but she was not told the client was Jackson until she was hired.

"I couldn't believe it," she said. "I asked him if I was on 'Candid Camera.' I said, 'Am I being punked?'"

She said Jackson had seen her resume which included jobs cooking for Macy Gray and Jamie Foxx as well as catering a fund raiser for President Barack Obama. She said he also knew she was from a multiracial background and her godfather was Redd Foxx.

But before she started she had to pass muster with three other people: the Jackson children.

"I came to the house and the first people I met were the kids. They started interviewing me," she said. "They told me: 'We're into healthy eating.'"

When they approved her, she went to work and "we developed a really great bond."

Most days, she said, Jackson made a point of having both lunch and dinner with the children, Prince, 11-year-old Paris and 7-year-old Prince Michael II, known as Blanket, and each meal was preceded by Paris saying grace. After weeks of healthy food, she said she wrote Jackson a note with a suggestion:

"I said, 'What about doing comfort-food Saturdays? We could do barbecued chicken and corn on the cob, maybe Mexican food or soul food.'" She said he loved the idea, but as the concerts approached, healthy eating returned full time.

"He said, 'I'm a dancer,' and he wanted food that would not make him cramp up while he was dancing."

She now treasures little notes she received from the children and from Jackson and a present he gave her.

"One day he handed me a little gift bag and said, 'This is for you from me and the children.' He had given me an iPod Touch because the children told him I still had a Walkman. It had the 25th anniversary 'Thriller' album loaded on it."

She said she has visited with the children since Jackson's death and they are doing well. "They have so many cousins to play with."

As for Chase's future, she said Jackson encouraged her to write a cookbook and she has written one tentatively titled, "Fit for a King." It includes recipes she cooked for Jackson and the story of the time she worked for him.

"He was an inspiration to me," she said. photos REUTERS NICK UT/ASSOCIATED PRESS LINDA DEUTSCH A/P

Rest in peace, Michael Jackson.

UPDATE 8:00 PM PT: The Jackson family has still not arrived ... the service was scheduled to begin an hour ago. Some of the guests arrived around 6:30.

UPDATE: Lisa Marie Presley -- Michael's ex-wife -- just arrived. Corey Feldman is there too.

The star-studded crowd is arriving at Michael Jackson's funeral -- Liz Taylor, Barry Bonds, Macaulay Culkin, Mila Kunis, Chris Tucker, Al Sharpton and more...

Meanwhile, the family has still not left their Encino compound.

Does the fashionably late rule apply to a funeral?!

Jackson Family -- This Is How They Rolls (http://www.tmz.com/2009/09/03/jackson-family-this-is-how-they-rolls/)

Michael Jackson's family will be rolling to his funeral tonight in style -- because they've got themselves a fleet of Rolls Royce Phantoms for the event.

United Royal Coach confirms they'll be picking up immediate family members at the Jackson Encino compound this afternoon -- and will deliver 'em to Forest Lawn in five stretch Phantoms. We're told Katherine and Joe will ride in the first vehicle.

Since the family members are regular customers, they even got 'em at a reduced rate, which no doubt helped lower the already "extraordinary" burial costs (http://www.tmz.com/2009/09/03/michael-jackson-burial-the-bill/).
