I prefer it stays mostly english ,in orther to keep it international and to have more audience (french from time to time will be ok)
i think why Morocco is not well known internationally beside france is because we depend alot on french and most people in the planet speak english

Well, I'll inform Jan about this petition.
But the moroccans have to stay active on these boards because otherwise we wont get our own forum.
I remember once the turkish wanted a subforum too. They got it, but after a while the subforum became unused. Because there were like 3-5 member active...
So with the 13 members active now, we might just save it, otherwise NOT....
And wouldnt it be a good idea if we got our own 'local' moderator. Because I think that helps the identity of the subforum. And the mods that should control the General Africa forum are barely looking in it! They even dont react. If some stupid guy shows up and makes sick threads/posts? Who's gonna clean it up?? Not those mods that should be because they arent looking...

I think you should get a forum. I know that South Africa has a forum, but Morocco has even greater potential than South Africa as it has bigger projects due to it's faster growing economy and doesn't have near the crime levels of SA and doesn't have AIDS either. From what I can see your highways in Morocco are better than the ones in SA as they were built in the last 10 years while in SA's were built 30 years ago under apartheid.

Also your tourism industry has great potential. There are five times as many five star hotels in Morocco than SA and unlike SA they maintain their standards too!

I think that by 2025 Morocco will surpass South Africa in terms of GDP as it doesn't have the social problems inherited from apartheid and already is ranked higher on the Human Development Index than SA.

I also think there should be a forum for Egypt.

^^ don't talk out of your ass! You might as well stay away, if you are here to stir up sh** with your crap talk. What do you know about South Africa? Do you suffer of 'small penis syndrome'? Morocco can and never will be greater than South Africa, point.

As for a Morocco forum, simply pm 'Thryve'- simpler than mobilizing a mob...

guys we are here to support the moroccan forum, and i don't think that Mosi-oa-Tunya is a moroccan i never saw him in the forum he wants just to create trouble. please south africans calm down. yes is true south africa is doing very good now and it's the most develloped country in africa, but also Morocco is doing good this last year and i hope that he will be as develloped as south africa soon, it will be a + for africa i guess
please people nobody is better than the other each country has its potential and its specificities , and we should be very happy for any country knowing progress specially from africa concerning world cup, it was a competition SA got it , congratulations it was a competition and we are happy that our friends the south african got it, and we hope we will get it next time with the support of our friends south africans

Yeah...Harkerb, there is no SA~Moroccan competition here, so don't acknowledge it or participate in it. This thread is not an attempt at groupthink or mobilization of a mob, it is a good way to gauge prospective interest in a Moroccan forum and should be taken at the face-value input of regular contributors not flash-in-the-pan trolls. There is no place for rivalry in this thread and any moves to subvert its agenda should be ignored.

Exactly, I consider myself a media savvy person but in America there is an obvious lack of coverage of Africa in every medium; be it TV, newspapers, radio, internet, etc... A lot of us are interested in the area but we have no outlet to keep us informed on day-to-day activities or cultural nuances.

It is pathetic and incomprehensible that someone had to use this forum to trash SA but I hope it does not impede the creation of another window looking into the African continent. I enjoy reading and learning about cities and life in SA and I hope to be able to have the same access to every other country in Africa.

Keep up the great work for a Moroccan forum we deserve one.

We still need more support from our brothers and sisters in Morocco, and overseas in Europe.

More great news for Morocco new flights from Ryan Air to Morocco.

2 routes and 1 million passengers:
Ryanair signs agreement with Morocco
Ryanair and the Government of Morocco signs a five year agreement to develop low cost air access and tourism to the country from Ryanair’s bases throughout Europe. - We are delighted to make this joint announcement with the Government of Morocco. This represents a singularly important initiative in the development of tourism and business for the country, said Michael Cawley in Ryanair.

The agreement covers most of the regional airports in Morocco and involves the commitment by Ryanair to develop up to 20 routes delivering almost 1 million passengers per annum by the end of the five year period.

Announcing the agreement in Rabat today, Ryanair’s Deputy Chief Executive, Michael Cawley said:

- We are delighted to make this joint announcement with the Government of Morocco. This represents a singularly important initiative in the development of tourism and business for the country. The Government has recognised that low cost air access is a growth vehicle for tourism throughout Europe and by joining the Open Skies regime and embracing Europe’s leading low fares airline, the Government in Morocco has made a clear statement about its intentions to develop its tourism industry in the next five years.

Ryanair’s commitment to establish up to 20 routes and carry close to 1 million passengers per annum on flights to Morocco is a vote of confidence by the airline in the excellence and attractiveness of Morocco as a destination both for weekend breaks, mid-week trips and longer holidays. Our low fares will also help ex-patriate Moroccans to see their families more often and facilitate local businesses in accessing markets with low fare routes including those already announced to both Frankfurt and Marseille.

Ryanair will be making many more new route announcements in Morocco over the coming months and years as we build on the solid basis which this long term agreement provides. I congratulate the Government of Morocco on this initiative and look forward to working successfully with it to develop its tourism and other business”.

Kindest regards

thanks greenbage for your motivating post and thank for all who are supporting the Moroccan forum, which i wish we will see soon.

after i emailed all the moderators in the middle east and african section about our request, i got a reply from thryve, wich i thank a lot for his support and his nice reply
in his reply he said that he will conduct a feasibility study and also will contact SSC administrative staff about our request. which is very encouraging
He also added that he must be sure that the members who have signed the petition would visit the section and post there regularly

Go GO Morocco and thanks to all our supporters

I can't say that I would be a very regular visitor even though I signed, but an occasional one? Definitly!
