German Developers Invest Over AED 700Million in Majan at Downtown Dubailand

To Develop World’s Seventh Largest Hotel on 450,000 Sq Ft
Built up Area

Dubai: 13 December 2006- Mizin, the real estate development company of
Tatweer, today announced German investor Steuruerlehgrang DE FZ LLC has
committed over AED 700 million in Majan, the downtown of Dubailand, to
develop the world’s seventh largest hotel, ‘Conference and Convention Hotel
Dubailand’.

The 1,050 room facility, developed over a built up area of 450,000 sq ft, will
be the tallest 4 star hotel in the region and will include one of the largest
ballrooms in the Middle East.

Sami al Hashmi, CEO of Mizin said: “We are happy to welcome
Steuruerlehgrang to Majan. The investment confirms the high interest
generated by Majan among leading regional and international investors. It
also validates Majan’s rapidly growing profile as a development drawing
some of the biggest and best investors, while significantly contributing to
Dubai’s reputation as a home for world class projects.”

Located on the Dubai Emirates Road, the ‘Conference and Convention Hotel
Dubailand’ will have 34 stories with three basements.George Reckor, CEO of Steuruerlehgrang DE FZ LLC, said: “Majan’s strategic location within Dubailand, the largest leisure and entertainment project in theworld, and its easy accessibility to major road networks and the Dubai Airport made it an obvious location of choice to develop this milestone project.

“Dubai impresses us as a city, having the power to translate the most
imaginative dream. With the ‘Conference and Convention Hotel Dubailand’,
we are proud to be the developers of a distinctive iconic landmark that will
dynamically provide a new dimension to the Dubai skyline.”
Majan, a 16.5 million sq ft freehold development, will incorporate residential,
commercial, retail, leisure and cultural sectors. It is expected to generate
investments of AED 15 billion within three years.

I live here. This place really sucks. There nearest supermarket is at Mirdif (30dhs taxi) and there's absolutely nothing here. Does anyone know what the time line is for this area?

Despite the shit location are you enjoying Dubai and your work at Emirates?

I think there is a supermarket at motor city if you want a closer one.:cheers:

Dubai is ok. I couldn't live here on a permanent basis though, that is, not traveling around for 3 weeks of every month. I don't like the liquor rules and the new parts of the city just don't have a city feel at street level.

Working for Emirates has been great so far although I'm still in training and will be for the next 5 weeks.
