புதிய விரைவு பஸ்களின் நீளம் அதிகரிப்பு; இனி 43 பேர் பயணம் செய்யலாம் (http://www.dinamalar.com/News_Detail.asp?Id=442377)

சென்னை:புதிதாக இயக்கப்படும் அரசு விரைவு பஸ்களில், இருக்கைகள் எண்ணிக்கை 43 ஆக அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பஸ்சின் நீளம் அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதால், அதிகம் பேர் பயணிக்கலாம்.தமிழக அரசு போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களுக்கு, 6,000 புதிய பஸ்கள் வாங்கப்படும் என, கடந்த மற்றும் இந்த ஆண்டு பட்ஜெட்டில் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதில், 389 புதிய மற்றும் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட 75 பஸ்களை, கடந்த மாதம் 31ம் தேதி, முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா துவக்கி வைத்தார்.வருவாய் அதிகரிக்கும்
இதில், அரசு விரைவுப் போக்குவரத்துக் கழகத்திற்கு, 50 புதிய பஸ்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன; 11 பஸ்கள் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அரசு விரைவு பஸ்களில் முன்பு, 36 பேர் பயணம் செய்யும் வகையில், இருக்கைகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தன.புதிதாக வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள பஸ்களில், 43 இருக்கைகள் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளன. இருக்கைகள் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரிப்பால், பயணிகள் அதிகம் பயணிப்பதுடன், வருவாயும் அதிகரிக்கும் என, அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.பஸ்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்து உள்ளால், அதற்கேற்ப புதிய வழித்தடங்கள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு, அவற்றில், புதிய பஸ்கள் இயக்கப்படுகின்றன. அதிக வருவாய் தரும் வழித் தடங்களில், கூடுதலாக வரும் புதிய பஸ்களை இயக்கவும் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.டிரைவர்கள் அதிருப்திஅரசு விரைவு பஸ்களின் இருக்கை எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டு இருப்பதால், அவற்றின் நீளமும், 12 மீட்டராக அதிகரித்துள்ளது.

இதுகுறித்து, அரசு விரைவு பஸ் டிரைவர் ஒருவர் கூறும்போது, ""வழக்கமான பஸ்களை விட, நீளம் அதிகம் என்பதால், இயக்குவதில் சிரமம் ஏற்படுகிறது. விபத்துகளைத் தவிர்க்க வேண்டுமானால், புதிய பஸ்களை, மிக கவனமாக ஓட்ட வேண்டி உள்ளது,'' என்றார்.
ஆனால், தனியார் விரைவு பஸ் டிரைவர்கள், அதிக நீளம் கொண்ட சொகுசு பஸ்களை, எளிதாகக் கையாளுகின்றனர். அரசு விரைவு பஸ்களில், பயிற்சி பெற்ற டிரைவர்களைத் தேர்வு செய்வதுடன், குறித்த தூரத்தை, குறித்த நேரத்தில் பஸ்சை ஓட்டினால் தான், மக்கள் இதில் ஆர்வமாகப் பயணம் செய்வர் என்ற கருத்து உள்ளது. அதற்கேற்ப, அதிகாரிகள் நடவடிக்கை அமையும் என, எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

43 Seaters in SETC buses in 12m chasis. SETC got 61 buses in the newly introduced buses. 50 buses are new. 11 are remodeled. 1 of the SETC driver told that it is difficult for them to handle these "lengthy" buses and they need to be more careful to avoid accidents.
Private Bus drivers handles these big buses easily.
So people expect SETC oppicers to be more "professional" in selecting the "trained" drivers for these SETC buses and they need to ensure that SETC maintains "punctuality".

Ooty madurai bus was running in 2005 also. it starts from ooty by 6.30 pm, we used to live in conoor in 2005

Yes, the driver in the bus we went said that the bus departs in Ooty around 7 p.m and will reach Madurai by 2.00 a.m

Went as AC bus and returned as Ultra Deluxe --> Dinamalar article referring about the AC buses of being converted as UD buses. In the refurbishment tender, totally 44 12M buses were mentioned. So SETC will lose all its AC buses? SETC AC buses of Madurai depot looks good compared to other depots(Particularly Chennai, Coimbatore and Trichy depots).

It also points out that TNSTCs were able to maintain their AC buses and SETC was not able to maintain them. The bus in the picture is TN01 N 5797.

புதிய பஸ்களை பெறுவதில் போக்குவரத்து கழகங்களுக்குள் போட்டி (http://www.dinamalar.com/News_Detail.asp?Id=443196)

அதிக வருவாய் ஈட்டும் போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களுக்கு மட்டும் புதிய பஸ்களை வழங்காமல், அனைத்து போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களுக்கும், சமமாகப் பிரித்து வழங்க வேண்டும் என, கோரிக்கை எழுந்துள்ளது.

தமிழக அரசு போக்குவரத்துக் கழகத்தில், பழுதடைந்த பஸ்கள் உரிய காலத்தில் மாற்றப்படாததால், கூடுதல் செலவு மற்றும் வருவாய் குறைவு ஏற்பட்டு வருகிறது. இதன் விளைவாக, ஒவ்வொரு போக்குவரத்துக் கழகமும், அதிக நஷ்டம் யாருக்கு என்பதில் போட்டி போடும் சூழல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களின் வருவாயை அதிகரிக்க, பழைய பஸ்களை மாற்ற வேண்டும் என்பது, பொதுவான கோரிக்கையாக இருந்தது. முதல்வரின் அறிவிப்பு : கடந்த தி.மு.க., ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில், மத்திய அரசின் நகர்புற மேம்பாட்டுத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ், 1,000 பஸ்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன. இவற்றில் பெரும்பாலானவற்றை, மாநகரப் பகுதிகளில் இயக்கவே பயன்படுத்தியதால், மற்ற போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்கள், பாடாவதி பஸ்களை வைத்தே இயக்கி வருகின்றன.

தொடர் நஷ்டம் காரணமாக, போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்கள், "திவால்' நிலைக்கு வந்ததையடுத்து, அவற்றை மீட்கும் வகையில், முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா பஸ் கட்டண உயர்வை அறிவித்தார். அதே போல், கடந்த பட்ஜெட்டில், 3,000 புதிய பஸ்கள் வாங்கவும் அறிவிப்பு வெளியானது.

டிவிஷன் வாரியாக ஒதுக்கீடு: இவற்றில், சென்னை மாநகர போக்குவரத்துக் கழகத்திற்கு, 100 பஸ்களும்; அரசு விரைவு போக்குவரத்துக் கழகத்திற்கு, 473; விழுப்புரம் டிவிஷனுக்கு, 586; சேலம், 361; கோவை, 593; கும்பகோணம், 438; மதுரை, 184; திருநெல்வேலி டிவிஷனுக்கு, 265 பஸ்கள் என, ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டன. அரசு போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களில், ஆறு ஆண்டுகள் அல்லது ஏழு லட்சம் கி.மீ.,க்கு மேல் இயக்கப்பட்ட பஸ்களை மாற்றி, புதிய பஸ்களை வழங்குவதாக, அப்போது அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த கணக்கீட்டின்படி பார்த்தால், அனைத்து போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களிலும், ஏராளமான பஸ்கள், புதியவையாக மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட வேண்டிய நிலையில் உள்ளன. இதையடுத்து, அடிச்சட்டம் (சேஸ்) நன்றாக உள்ள பஸ்களை, மறு கட்டமைப்பு செய்து வழங்கும் புதிய அறிவிப்பையும், தமிழக அரசு அறிவித்தது.

தாமதத்திற்கு காரணம்: புதிய பஸ்களை வாங்குவதற்கான டெண்டர் உள்ளிட்ட நடைமுறைகள், செப்டம்பர் மாதத்திற்கு பிறகே துவங்கியதால், இவை முழுமையாக தற்போது பயன்பாட்டுக்கு வரவில்லை. முதல்கட்டமாக, கடந்த மாதம் 31ம் தேதியன்று நடந்த விழாவில், 389 புதிய பஸ்கள் மற்றும், 75 புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட பஸ்களின் இயக்கத்தை, முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா துவக்கி வைத்தார். இவை, எட்டு போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களுக்கும் பிரித்து வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அதிக அளவிலான புதிய பஸ்களை வழங்க வேண்டும்என்ற கோரிக்கை எழுந்துள்ளது.

இதுகுறித்து பேசிய போக்குவரத்துத் துறை அதிகாரி ஒருவர், ""புதிய பஸ்களை பெறும் கோட்டங்களுக்கு, குறைந்தது ஓர் ஆண்டு வரை பராமரிப்பு செலவு இல்லை என்பதால், தொடர்ந்து வருவாய் ஈட்டுவதில் முன்னிலை வகிக்கும். ஆனால், பழைய பஸ்களைப் பெறும் கோட்டங்கள், தொடர்ந்து நஷ்டத்தில் தான் இயங்கும்; பராமரிப்பு செலவும் அதிகரிக்கும்'' என்றார். கடந்த ஆண்டு மற்றும் இந்த ஆண்டு பட்ஜெட்டில் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள, தலா, 3,000 பஸ்களையும், விரைவாக பயன்பாட்டுக்கு கொண்டு வரும் முயற்சியில், போக்குவரத்துத் துறை இறங்கியுள்ளது. புதிய பஸ்களை பெறுவதில், போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களுக்குள் போட்டி ஏற்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில், உண்மையிலேயே பலவீனமான டிவிஷன்களுக்கு புதிய பஸ்களை ஒதுக்க, அரசு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே, எதிர்பார்ப்பாக உள்ளது.

பண்டமாற்று முறை: பழுதான மூன்று பஸ்களுக்கு ஒரு பஸ் என்ற விகிதத்தில், பண்டமாற்று முறையில் பஸ்களை மாற்றிக் கொள்ள, போக்குவரத்துக் கழக அதிகாரிகள் முயற்சிப்பதாக, ஊழியர்கள் தரப்பில் கூறப்படுகிறது.

Amongst the State Road Transport Undertakings (SRTUs), which reported their road accident related data, MSRTC had the highest number of road accidents (3,407 accidents), followed by Andhra Pradesh STC (2,879 accidents) and TN STC Ltd. (Villupuram) (1,625 accidents).

The four states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu together account for around 70.4% of the total fleet held by 35 reporting state road transport undertakings.

The bus was struggling to clock 60 and also could not make it a constant one.
Some beep sounds was hearing all the way around, dont know what was it, might be some indicator for malfunctioning,may be removed soon.:lol:

Might be speed locked?
The beep is most likely a less air pressure indicator. Its dangerous to run continuously with the beep as this will lead to break biding consecutively lead to drum heat up.

Yes.. Few of tnstc-cbe buses had this.. These were mainly added to slfs.. Haven't seen them yet...

Front face of 2629 running in CBE-Sivagangai route. One head light is missing.. Atleast they could have added them for long distance buses. Separate painting(Atleast Maroon) could have been done for that cut.. ;)

The rear profile has all the regular stickering.. "10 Meter Idaiveli Vittu Varavum" sticker is placed in the rear windshield and the "Color" is printed in three different color stickers. A typical CEC stickering work.

Now its Pallipalayam built guy. TN33 N 2804 of Tirupur region's Kangeyam depot bus running in Tirupur-Paramakudi route. Kangeyam was old erode region depot, hence it received a 33 reg bus.

The SLF's initially had a beep mechanism to alert if doors are open. Hope you are not referring to that .....

Now SETC/TNSTC has received new buses, atleast they can start some new interstate routes to AP, SLM - HYD, MAS - HYD private operators like Kesineni and KPN have duopoly between them for AP sector

Now SETC/TNSTC has received new buses, atleast they can start some new interstate routes to AP, SLM - HYD, MAS - HYD private operators like Kesineni and KPN have duopoly between them for AP sector

True. But first priority for them is to completely replace the aging SETC fleets inside TN and the ones connecting to Bangalore. Top most priority is to hire more maintenance staffs and do proper maintenance of new buses. Then they can think of the above routes.

Might be speed locked?
The beep is most likely a less air pressure indicator. Its dangerous to run continuously with the beep as this will lead to break biding consecutively lead to drum heat up.
Once i had a split travel between Bangalore to Nagercoil..... From Madurai i took a Madurai to Marthandam bus in that bus the same beep sound was there every one 30sec i think... It was a new bus it had half gear lever.......

Very good show Dhandapani.
TNSTC VPM has changed its rear profile. It somewhat looked the same as above. But, it didnt have the good quality as it had.
I rate CEC as the best body building unit for Govt buses in India.

It shows the design of city and mofussil buses that are being built on new as well as old chassis.
It shows standardization of body design and colour.
Happy to see it.

Guys, just had a search in TNSTCs Website for AC buses moving to various locations. None of the AC buses of SETC was listed in it. Also, some of the TNSTCs AC Coach buses also were not listed. If you guys found anything, please correct me.

Reno, please check if SETC has introduced Neyveli to Marthandam as of the new routes.

In my visit to karaikudi I could see some brand new marron coloured TNSTC buses in some new routes,they are

TNSTC karaikudi bus to nagore from karaikudi (dont know the origin)

TNSTC villupuram reintroduced Thiruvannamalai-karaikudi service.

TNSTC madurai (VNR) has introduced a new bus from sivakasi to karaikudi.

Though I expected new buses in Karaikudi -palani route I have nt seen any new routes execpt One brand new TNSTC DGL maroon bus in Palani-karaikudi route which is running on old slot.

Looking at the latest set of liveries rolled out by TNSTC/SETC, i feel happy for the standardization that is creeping in but at the same time the designs for mofussil buses look very sick. They seem to have emanated from a mind which stopped working after 70's. Even the 80's TTC designs were better than this. Some homework could have been done in consultation with all divisions before the implementation of liveries.

SETC livery is a straight pull out from the Volvo ....:bash:. No words...

I would rather be happy id the quality of the transport improves. No doubt TN still has the best connectivity within the state. but its high time that the speed, efficiency and comfort get better.

Overall all Kum divn buses i have seen really lacks the quality of finish. Particularly Pudhukottai and KKDI region buses. When they showed of around 90+ buses for inauguration. I really wondered and wanted to see them in real. Now got fed up after seeing them.. Overall there was a big competition among Kum regions in winning the worst build quality award and finally pudhukottai region wins that.. ;)

Still im waiting to see SLM and Nellai divn buses.. Few SETC pics will follow soon..

TIRUNELVELI: The new luxury bus service from Sankarankoil to Chennai was inaugurated on Sunday. Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa gave an assurance in this regard to newly-elected MLA Muthuselvi in the State Assembly on March 4.

At a function held at Sankarankoil Bus Stand on Sunday, Khadi and Village Industries Minister P� Chendur Pandian flagged off the new bus service.

It would leave Sankarankoil at 6. 30 pm daily via Rajapalayam, Madurai, Tiruchy, Villupuram and reach Chennai at 6. 30 am. In the return direction, a bus would leave Koyambedu terminus at 7 pm and reach Sankarankoil at 7 am. The bus fare is Rs. 405.

Muthuselvi, RDO Elango, State Express Transport Corporation MD Mohan and others attended the function.

TN01 N 9900.. New KMS built UD of SETC.. In the rear, it had R.No 182 UD Virudhunagar-Chennai. I guess this route is yet to get inaugurated.

but now a days bus colours are very bad. there is no colour difference between town bus and long route buses.

Few difference i saw was that the maroon strip is different in town and route buses. In town buses its straight and in route buses it has a bend at the middle. But one of the buses in Mr.Dandapani's pic had a route bus with straight strip. Can anyone point out.

This enaippu concept is good, every bus should have such things. Also the new Town buses of Trichy has these three slots for boards, but only the middle one is used, also they didnt stick any route number, but routes are sticked.

THE PRESSURE AND CONFUSION OF VEHICLE REG OF MAIN AND UNIT RTO'S WILL BE REDUCED .FOR EXAMPLE:MY UNCLE HAS A VEHICLE WHICH HE BOUGHT IN 2008 WHICH HAS REG NUM :TN36W4XXX?(REGISTERED UNDER BHAVANI UNIT OFFICE OF GOBI RTO).IN 2012 I BOUGHT A CAR HAVING NUM TN36R22XX(REGISTERED UNDER THE SAME OFFICE)
NORMALLY MY VEHICLE WOULD LOOK OLD WITH THE REG NUM WITH MY UNCLE'S ONE.
SO ,THIS CAN BE AVOIDED WITH NEW RTO'S

Another refurbished guy is working in papanasam route. Alankulam - Swamithoppu temple is a new route

But one of the buses in Mr.Dandapani's pic had a route bus with straight strip. Can anyone point out.

Might be ordinary fare bus. Strip without "Z" bend is for ordinary fare buses - correct me if i'm wrong

CHENNAI: Close on the heels of a rise in power tariff, milk price and bus charges, the Tamil Nadu government on Monday sought to hike road tax for certain categories of vehicles and permit fees for private luxury coaches.

The proposed hike is expected to help the government mop up additional revenue of a few hundred crores of rupees from vehicle registrations and road tax, but it could leave a hole in the pocket of those travelling in omni buses. To facilitate the hikes, a bill was introduced in the assembly to amend the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974. Once passed, the new tax structure will have retrospective effect from April 1.

"According to the new tax structure, we have to pay 18,000 more per quarter as tax for a 36-seater bus. As of now, we pay 1,26,000 per bus per quarter as tax. It will definitely affect the owners. We will have to increase 20 per ticket to nullify the additional expense," said R kumar, an omni bus owner in Chennai. However, passengers feel the effective hike in fares will be much more, taking into consideration the lack of regulations in the case of omni bus fares.

How is this going to be beneficial?? (out of curiosity).. As Such in TN we have RTOs and enough divisions as of now.!!!! with reorganising RTOs there ll be confusion (short term) and a lot of practical difficulties such as changing records etc.

I would rather be happy id the quality of the transport improves. No doubt TN still has the best connectivity within the state. but its high time that the speed, efficiency and comfort get better.

my worst experience with ABTX.
Booked in ABTX from tirunelveli to bangalore on sunday night.
The bus had a breakdown at viruthunagar at 10 30. Mechanic arrived by 12 from kovil pati
was trying to fix the problem and till 4 they could not fix and we were on road till 4.
then they stopped the abt arriving from bangalore to nagercoil shifted the passangers to coimbatore nagercoil bus. Then by 4 20 our bus started again and reached bangalore by 12 30 afternoon :-(

Chennai-Virudhunagar new Bus service inaugurated..

State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) has introduced a pair of deluxe bus services between Chennai and Virudhunagar from April 4.

In a statement, the Collector, M. Balaji, said that the bus to Chennai leaves the new bus stand here at 9.30 p.m. every day. On the return direction, it leaves Chennai at 9 p.m. A booking office for these services would be opened at the new bus stand soon. Based on the patronage for the new services, efforts would be taken to operate SETC buses to other important destinations in the State, the statement said.

Yeah Mr.BennyPrince. Yesterday i saw a 76B in CMBT bus stand of TNSTC VPM of Kachipuram Division. They just painted into Maroon Color that's all. Other than that no work is done in that bus.

There is no difference b/w town bus & long journey bus. Every bus they are painted in same color and same design.

Soon every bus will look like as a "Nai Vandi" :bash::bash:

New SETC bus that I found in Salem central bus stand yesterday night are

1. Salem-Chennai
2. Salem-Tirupathy

But I am not sure whether they will be permanently get allotted to these routes.. because I could find only temporary name boards.

There are daily 3 ONT UD buses from Salem to Tirupathy but none of them are available for online reservation. :bash:

travel experience:

It was looking very nice inside and seats were rigid and not smooth compared to old UDs. Also stainless steel was used for interior instead of fibre material (??!!) in old UDs. This is good try because in old SETC after few months the interiors were looking ugly because of dust. The chances of rusting or dust accumulation is very less in this stainless steel interiors.

Lamps were perfectly good! And the illumination is low that even the crew forget to switch of the light one can sleep happily (switiching off the lights is a basic need, that many SETC crew will never follow)

I guess it is 42 seater and leg space is less compared to old UDs, so push back is limited in degree of inclination. But IMHO this leg space is enough for 4-7 hrs travel.

Bus ride was very smooth but it was crying to climb up Manjavadi ghat/canal/pass between Salem and Harur on SH 18. But 315KM from Salem to Tirupathi via Harur, Ambur, Vellore, Chitoor took 7hrs 30min with an average speed of just 42KMPH..:bash:

Forget to add few more..

There is no TV in this bus and I am very happy about that. And it looked like they have pasted sun film in the window glass.

Patronage of this bus was normal and occupancy was around 70-75% and majority of them were intermediate passengers bound for Ambur, Vellore. And from Vellore bus was nearly full to Tirupathy.

TNSTC-VPM is tapping the potential of Tirupathy crowd well. Their frequency from Tirupathy to Chennai, Kanchipuram, Vellore is really good. And many important towns like Kallakurichi, Thirupattur, Villupuram, Thiruvanamalai have starting bus to Tirupathi.

The lights i have seen in the new UDs were LED lights and it was really good. LED lights first came in the KMS built 12M UDs which we got it last year. They have given a provision for fitting LED/LCD TVs.

Driver is not ready to reduce the gear to make the bus climb the ghat section easily. Thats the reason it is crying.. They are doing this mainly for getting good KMPL. Have seen such worst things many times.:bash:

KSRTC has started a new karnataka sarige service from trichy to arisikere. The bus starts from trichy at 4.30pm.I saw this bus in the krishnagiri motel at 11pm.Also the kumbakonam to KR nagar bus has been upgraded to rajahamsa from karnataka sarige.

Whether the KS bus to Arsikere is via Mysore or Bangalore, the MYS-KBK express was upgraded to RH mid last year

SETC route is a new one. I saw TN01 N 9900, a new 12M UD with VNR-Chennai board.

SETC also had two buses to sivakasi from Chennai 10 years back. One bus used to come from Sencottai and another from madurai to Sivakasi. From Sivakasi they used to proceed to chennai. Now TNSTC operates a lone AC bus to chennai. They operate 3X2 bus modified SLF on weekends. But there are 10 pvt buses from Sivakasi to chennai ( parveen 2 buses( AL and Corona) , KPN( 1 Volvo), TVLS(AL), SRM(AL), Muthumari(AL), Kalyan( Sleeper), Janani(AL), Amarnath(AL), bhagayalakshmi, .Pvt operators has buses to Bangalore, Ernakulam, Calicut Dumb SETC.

Similar is the case for Srivilliputhur , Sattur, Arrupukkotai. SETC lose is Pvt bus gain.

Yesterday I travelled in newly introduced chennai-viruthunagar setc bus,it was kms built,seats were good and leg space was good.
From cmbt to madurai it took 8.5 hrs,fare is Rs.330,dep time from cmbt is 9pm.

Did you traveled in this bus or it is a different one? How was the leg space?

Yes the same one,leg space was good.Iam 6.2 ft tall so i felt little difficult in sitting,bt for others it will be good,comparing to old ud's the leg space is less in new 12m ud's..

Arul,
The lights i have seen in the new UDs were LED lights and it was really good. LED lights first came in the KMS built 12M UDs which we got it last year. They have given a provision for fitting LED/LCD TVs.

Driver is not ready to reduce the gear to make the bus climb the ghat section easily. Thats the reason it is crying.. They are doing this mainly for getting good KMPL. Have seen such worst things many times.:bash:

Knowing their maintenance standards, its better SETC went in for vinyl seats. Putting white cloth will help none...they can instead just leave it as it is.
The window screens and a screen on the driver partition glass will do lot of good for night journeys. That seems missing.

Have spotted a new Tata Bus (in Yellow & Red with Posters of CM in the front Glass) between Salem - Kovai Bye Pass ryder, Are they re-introducing Tata Buses again..

Friend in this new lot TNSTC Salem division got New TML buses already i posted pics when it was standing in Salem MD office.After innaguaration i posted New TML Bus and our Ramesh also posted.In my knowledge Tnstc salem got new TML's in Salem-Coimbatore,Tiruppur,Madurai,Dharmapuri please check it below it is new one.

New SETC bus that I found in Salem central bus stand yesterday night are

1. Salem-Chennai
2. Salem-Tirupathy

But I am not sure whether they will be permanently get allotted to these routes.. because I could find only temporary name boards.

There are daily 3 ONT UD buses from Salem to Tirupathy but none of them are available for online reservation. :bash:

travel experience:

It was looking very nice inside and seats were rigid and not smooth compared to old UDs. Also stainless steel was used for interior instead of fibre material (??!!) in old UDs. This is good try because in old SETC after few months the interiors were looking ugly because of dust. The chances of rusting or dust accumulation is very less in this stainless steel interiors.

Lamps were perfectly good! And the illumination is low that even the crew forget to switch of the light one can sleep happily (switiching off the lights is a basic need, that many SETC crew will never follow)

I guess it is 42 seater and leg space is less compared to old UDs, so push back is limited in degree of inclination. But IMHO this leg space is enough for 4-7 hrs travel.

Bus ride was very smooth but it was crying to climb up Manjavadi ghat/canal/pass between Salem and Harur on SH 18. But 315KM from Salem to Tirupathi via Harur, Ambur, Vellore, Chitoor took 7hrs 30min with an average speed of just 42KMPH..:bash:

My experience salem-Tirupathi during last bramotsavam first day unplanned i gone to salem central bus stand i missed all our ud's in night 10.30pm only option to took APSRTC Super luxury Covai-Tirupathi Bus was half filled driver moved out bus entrance upto 11.15pm after that stopped near sundar lodge stop for 10min urination in starrting itself:rock:then moved like tortoise when we reached near by vallasiyur ghat road driver started d neautral driving(LIke pushing clutch when bus slows again pressing accelerator ) This type of driving continued upto tirupathi 15mins break before vellore bus was half empty most of the passengers are got down in Harur,utthangarai,vellore.One more sad thing is other APSRTC waitng in vellore to load passengers but no body was there ,upto banglore highway driver & conductor duty did by driver then crew changed in banglore highway why not our SETC follow this patternn?Finnally i reached Tirupathi at 7.06am.Fare is 280 but in our SETC 200 only on that day.:bash:

Most of the services to chennai were extension of BLR ones.I dont think KSRTC ever had connection to the Konkan excpet for Kollur till the recent times.

Ooty - Chanrayapatna, Hassan and Mercara were all extension of Mysore ooty services. There was no separate bus to Mandya. As far as I remember there was no bus from ooty to Tumkur or Hospet. Only in the recent years(last 5 years), ooty Mangalore has started. There was no Service to Coimbatore from Gundulpet by KSRTC. only TNSTC were there and are still there. Ooty had buses only to BLR, MYS, (HAssan, Mercara, Chanrayapatna) and these years MAngalore.

Vellore has only one KGF route other than the famed 444 route.

Correct ah holidays timela announcement nice one for all pvt bus owners, KPN ARC TIPPU SULTAN and some of the pvt bus already collecting high fares even in weekdays.KPN's Non AC fare(Rs.515) is higher than Kannathals AC(Rs.510) in Madurai - Chennai route :( it happens in many routes in TN.Very Bad

Is Speed restriction lifted for long distance buses, usually buses will take two hours or more for vellore - poonamalle with out break. Last sunday i travelled in TN-29-N-2360, taken 1 hour 55 min with 15 min break for morning break fast.

Also notice while returning back Chennai - Tirupattur doing in 80 Km/Hr. After many years seeing buses doing 70+ Km/hour. For 120 km this saves 15-20 min. :)

Checked in reservation system, Mandya has three services to CBE and all are operated by Mandya depot
Mangalore and Kundapura buses to Chennai are operating from mid 1990

SETC also had two buses to sivakasi from Chennai 10 years back. One bus used to come from Sencottai and another from madurai to Sivakasi. From Sivakasi they used to proceed to chennai. Now TNSTC operates a lone AC bus to chennai. They operate 3X2 bus modified SLF on weekends. But there are 10 pvt buses from Sivakasi to chennai ( parveen 2 buses( AL and Corona) , KPN( 1 Volvo), TVLS(AL), SRM(AL), Muthumari(AL), Kalyan( Sleeper), Janani(AL), Amarnath(AL), bhagayalakshmi, .Pvt operators has buses to Bangalore, Ernakulam, Calicut Dumb SETC.

Similar is the case for Srivilliputhur , Sattur, Arrupukkotai. SETC lose is Pvt bus gain.

oh..:nuts: 10 pvt service including volvo...so there s huge floating towards chennai. then why our tnstc officers not using properly this route for making revenue?

Most of these 10 Private Buses from Sivakasi-Chennai & Sivakasi-Bangalore/Kerala Buses will go Empty upto Madurai.. Mostly (25% Filled in Sivakasi 25% in VNR and 50% in Madurai). All these Buses are extn for Madurai Bus. Private operators are running to Sivakasi not to grab passengers, It's mainly due to Luckage/Courier.. If the Bus is at 8:00 PM, Then by 5:00 PM itself they will start loading the bus & The Bus will be fully loaded with Luckage @ Sivakasi. (Apart from this lot of Daily Lorries are also available between Sivakasi-Chennai)

Once in a Sunday Sivakasi-Bangalore Sharma VOLVO.. I was the only person Boarded @ Sivakasi.. But come to know that Bus is full in Sivakasi with Luckage/Couriers.. Very Few Boarded in Sivakasi after Bustand, few Tirutangal and VNR.. and Bus is full @ Madurai.. I beleive these Pvt buses will get more revenue in Luckage/Courier then Passengers..

Around 15 Years back SETC tried this Route.. But due to very less passanger they stopped it.. As per my knowlege this bus will come from Shenkottai to Sivakasi thru Tirunelveli instead of Rajapalayam and Start from Sivakasi as Sivakasi-Chennai.

7 Yrs back TNSTC Started it's operation with ordinary & now they changed to AC bus & Spls in weekend..

There is an APSRTC between Hosur and Tirupathi via Krishnagiri, Kuppam. I guess both these are same route.

+1, MTC Drivers never use the clutch to switch the gears. So, while chaning gears, a loud sound comes, especially in the non-JnNURM SLFs and some older buses.

KSRTC Runs via Malur Kolar Mulbagal Palamaner Chithoor
APSRTC generally runs via Malur Kolar Mulbagal Palamaner Chithoor but only one bus is via Krishnagiri, Kuppam, Venkagiri Kotta, Palamaner and Chithoor

APSRTC has 4 to 5 service from Hosur to Tirupathi

Speed restriction even in the new SETC buses is a total waste in increasing fares and procuring new buses.

Better SETC stop day time services that dont get good patronage to minimize its loss. They can rest the bus in the respective depot during the day time for maintenance. This will also reduce the wear and tear of SETC buses and increase their life.

Your thought is good. All the SETC on the interstate to BLR,Tirupati runs in similar way. They operate day service to make an night service, why cant they hold the bus the entire day to operate like KSRTC is doing.

During day time i have traveled in Trichy-Bangalore and Tirupati-Trichy.

The bangalore one was accupied only by mid way guys and end to end was only 5.
In tirupati one the night one came late in the morning and crew changed and took an hour late at tirupati and it also had only 8 persons to trichy including mid way pax. Including 4 in owr family. Since the bus was runing late and as we 4 planned to get down there itself, he let the bus directly to the depot and the remaining 4 were altered with other chennai bus to bus stand. And the same bus is to do the night service after maintanence.

So the rest time for the bus is 2 hrs in tirupati and around 3-4hrs in trichy. If they run in such a way how would be maintanence and standard?

Hi Reno sir i think KMS has done a wonderful job good/neat looking design for both front and back profile when compared to other bus body builders..... I thought Gemini, Atal,Arrow and Tvr would give some different and good designs but it is ordinary only..... Hope Veera will give the best designs.....:)

Attur is with Salem division only, but Trichy region dominates Trichy - Attur via Perambalur with its Perambalur depot buses & via Thuraiyur with Thuraiyur depot buses. Have seen once a Salem region bus in Salem - Attur - Perambalur - Trichy route.

Not only on Attur route. Trichy region dominates in Salem-Trichy route too.. More than 70% of buses are operated by Trichy i.e KMU division on this route.

Salem-Trichy have mofusil buses in 3 routes...

1. Salem-Namakkal-Trichy is prime route

^^ Something rare. They have rebuilt it by taking some pieces from old buses?? The rear looks like some 6XX to 8XX series buses. 14XX series used to have the Apple profile like below..

Can you tell me in which routes these SS Bodies are running? TN38 N 2523, 2524/2534, 2536. One more bus from Poy also got transferred to CBE City. Let me check the reg no and post. I guess one among them is running in R.No 5C.

Speed restriction even in the new SETC buses is a total waste in increasing fares and procuring new buses.

Better SETC stop day time services that dont get good patronage to minimize its loss. They can rest the bus in the respective depot during the day time for maintenance. This will also reduce the wear and tear of SETC buses and increase their life.

Few years back there were not these many day services. for example there was no day service from bangalore to coimbatore erode karur and so on.
But during the last government they introduces these day services. thats also once reason the buses were worn out so soon. Can you imagine a bus running non stop? morning startiing from bangalore and reaching coimbatore at night and night again starting from coimbatore at night. with such bad maintenance from SETC how can we expect those bus to be in good quality?

When i asked about this to one known driver of mine why is the day service running when the patronage is so less.he told that the government has given 3000(i dont remember this no may be 9000 in whole transport) new jobs in setc and where to employ all these new staffs when there are no new buses and no expansion of division? thats the reason for those day services. and its be continuing now too

Thanks. Actually we got 4 new SS body city buses in Pollachi after 10 years. Since CBE wanted to use these as City Express services, they were again given back to CBE city. :bash: All these were running in 12, 34, 37B and 29. Now all are replaced with old dubbas.

There was one SS body with Udumalai depot. Not sure whether it is still there or not.

even though this suggestion looks good, there are few complex situations here.

1. If the buses are idle during day time, then its TNSTC will become the monopoly. So SETC should operate in a way during day time on good profitable route, with good timings and good fare.
2. currently SETC fair is higher than TNSTC bus fair. so what is the advantage a passenger will get by opting for TNSTC during day time? all SETC, TNSTC operates on same speed.. no additional luxury.
3. its time, SETC has to get back to their old glory days of "thiruvalluvar"... it was fast service. ofcourse monopoly in long distance route.
4. its upto TN Govt, transport minister, SETC MD to decide on bring out the "difference of benefits" between SETC and TNSTC... with the justification of fare.
5. so either SETC has to make their own brand by luxury, speed, punctuality, their services or long distance TNSTC has to give up their services to SETC.

Actually in Tirupur region, Old Cheran depot's are getting 38 reg buses and Jeeva depots are getting 33 reg buses. Not sure whether they are going for 39/42 N reg buses. tn38 buses by cec & tn33 buses by pallipalayam & tn33n2009 running in cbe-mettur is rebuild by pallipalayam unit i think in cbe division all rebuilding work is done by their own unit itself not by private builders

i think KMS has done a wonderful job good/neat looking design for both front and back profile when compared to other bus body builders..... I thought Gemini, Atal,Arrow and Tvr would give some different and good designs but it is ordinary only..... Hope Veera will give the best designs.....:)

how about this route? is via nagercoil or kanyakumari ?

It runs via- Nagercoil, valliyoor, Kalakad. Swamithoppu very nearer to your house right? You can see this bus once you back to hometown

you can see in tup-rameshwaram bus also one thing i noted that cec built bus not indicating the region&depot name but in pallipalayam built bus come with theemaa & depot name i don't know why tup1 depot avoiding regions name but all depot from cheran udumalai,palladam,&palani1 are indicating the regions name only tup1 avoiding depot name also even in tup-Chennai bus also . Erode-kodai is operated by both erode and dgl regions..
We don't have salem-kodai service.. Tnstc-slm operates Salem-ooty service.. I've posted the pic of that bus already..

TNSTC CBE(erode region) operates Thuraiyur-Namakkal-Erode-MTP-Ooty service.
May be Dharmapuri region got those sevices in reciprocate for allowing routes to other divisions to Hosur.

TNSTC-Salem's last South TN connectivity is Salem-Sivakasi and Salem-Kovilpatti. If they are not able to operate more services from Hosur to South TN, why cant these guys allow TNSTC-Nellai/Madurai to operate buses to Hosur? Even TNSTC-Madurai should start one service in Salem-Kodai via Palani. Even TNSTC-Coimbatore(Tirpur region's Palani-2 depot) can operate this service.

Few times i have seen Hosur-Madurai 3X2 Express of Dharmapuri region skipping DGL and it is operated as BPR. One prob i found in this bus is the speed. One of my regular bus used to overtake this guy and reaches arapalayam before 10-15 min of the Hosur-Madurai BPR from Dharmapuri region. Still my bus goes inside Vadipatti and Dharmapuri region bus wont enter Vadipatti. Even though it skips DGL and Vadipatti in few occasions, it is dead slow. :)

Following routes shall be explored for South TN.
1. Sencottah-Salem/Hosur
2. Tuty-Hosur --> Give it to any of the Tuty depots. They are one of the best service provider in Madurai-Salem sector.
3. NGL-Hosur --> Better give this to NGL region. They can do the justice well. :)
4. Nellai-Hosur
5. Thenkasi-Hosur/Salem
6. Ramanathapuram/Rameshwaram-Hosur via Madurai. If it succeed, then KKDI region may convert this as a SD bus. :)

Whether Dharmapuri has good connectivity to other TN cities? I always see TN29 buses running either to Hosur/Salem. :)

Not only on Attur route. Trichy region dominates in Salem-Trichy route too.. More than 70% of buses are operated by Trichy i.e KMU division on this route.

Salem-Trichy have mofusil buses in 3 routes...

1. Salem-Namakkal-Trichy is prime route
2. Salem-Attur-Perambalur-Trichy
3. Salem-Vazhapadi-Thuraiyur-Trichy

The total distance of SLM-TPJ is 140kms and almost half the area is under Salem. Then Salem should ahve the leverage to operate on equal basis. is it undermined during ex minsiter Nehru s time? TPJ got more buses allocated due to politics?

Also if you can check www.salem.nic.in/department/transport and you can see the routes of Tnstc Salem and will be useful for the forumers if u bring it out here.

2. Bangalore-Trichy BHEL

It was pathetic to see that 4-5 UD to Chennai was empty and ready to leave from BS. I guess it will have mostly empty run all the way to Chennai.

Hosur-Vridhachalam via Thiruvanamalai is shorter than via Salem.. I guess DPJ might have selected this route to connect Dharmapuri also with Vridhachalam and Jayankondam.

I don't think this was due to any political pressure. From 1998 I use to see majority of SLM-TRY service is operated by TNSTC-TRY.

There are nearly 144 up and down government service daily between Salem and Trichy via Namakkal, Musiri... in this only 40 service is operated by TNSTC-SLM and remaining 100 service is by TNSTC-TRY.

The reason may be only Salem-Namakkal comes under TNSTC-SLM division and which is served by no. of private buses, SLM-MDU service, no. of Karur private buses and gvt bus to Namakkal/Karur and Dindigul but Namakkal-Musiri-Thotiyam-Trichy tol-gate needs to served by TNSTC-TRY, so instead of terminating the service at Namakkal, they might have extended all the buses to Salem from Trichy. (Just a wild guess)

I guess roughly Salem-Namakkal will have 350+ up and down service daily if we include direct and indirect private/gvt buses.

Hosur-Vridhachalam via Thiruvanamalai is shorter than via Salem.. I guess DPJ might have selected this route to connect Dharmapuri also with Vridhachalam and Jayankondam.

Indeed a rare route from TNSTC-DPJ. Thanks for sharing...:cheers: I think DPJ has some peculiar routes covering up Salem region. Even Tirupattur (nearby Vellore) - Salem - Trichy - Tirupattur (Sivaganga DT) is also a DPJ region bus only. This guy traverses 70 odd kms in NH45B. AFAI, this guy & Ponnamaravathy guy are the only SA region guys touching NH45B.

Erode-kodai is operated by both erode and dgl regions..
We don't have salem-kodai service.. Tnstc-slm operates Salem-ooty service.. I've posted the pic of that bus already..

I have seen TN 72 N 1327 from Trichy region's Perambalur depot in Perambalur - Coimbatore via Thuraiyur, Musiri, Karur. On that particular day, this guy was returning to Perambalur via Trichy from Madurai after a Chennai - Madurai special trip. Here is the guy. It replaced NGL - DGL guy (departure around 1400 hrs from NGL). TN 72 N 1681 was built by Ranithootam unit. This unit building chennai buses so they're trying this face as trial - just a guess.

It is a seperate service by TNSTC Salem, TNSTC Erode still runs between ooty-salem and Gudalur-ooty-Salem by Tnstc Cbe Gudalur depot, 22:30 in salem.

Even SETC buses can be alotted for building to all regions than giving it to a private one..while doing this, i think we can get good coaches.by expanding the body building units..

google search says this Kadathur is very small town with a population of 10,000 in Dharmapuri dt.

I wonder what is the reason behind TN-30 operating this service. :nuts:

Anyway it is great to see many new towns like Nangavali, Kadathur, Palacode are getting direct connection to TN's 2nd largest city CBE :cheers:

Wow this guy looks good nicely maintained by Tnstc Tirunelveli.Better all SETC A/C coaches transfer to Tnstc's it is useful for long route passengers.But these idiots changed it into UD:bash: All State transport corporation thinks upward (Volvo ,Benz,Corona,etc)our state thinks backward (Ashley A/c to UD).Onum solrathuku ila:ohno:

Arul, This is to connect small towns like Bommidi, Papireddipatty in Dharmapuri district with Coimbatore. There are quite a frequent services from Salem to Dharmapuri via Papireddipatty, Bommidi and Kadaththur.

Since a Dharmapuri - Kadathur - Coimbatore service will not serve End to End passengers, they might have made it a Coimbatore - Kadathur service.

This service may likely get extended to Dharmapuri in the same route after some time.

Kadathur-CBE TN30 which depot operates this service?? Is it by SLM region or Dharmapuri region because some TN30 services/ fleet transferred or given to DPJ. Good to see TNSTC SLM have intorduced two new routes Nangavalli, Kadathur-CBE rather than age old SLM-CBE route. Being in the western region it should introduce buses to Pollachi. Also it has to connect CBE with Hosur which Dharmapuri region alone does.

Erode - Mettur operated by anthiyur depot in above picture. Anthiyur is a small town near Bhavani and it doesnot fall on the route of Erode-Mettur but still operates this route. May be the bus will do a single like Erode-Anthiyur/ Mettur-Anthiyur to halt.

Your thought is good. All the SETC on the interstate to BLR,Tirupati runs in similar way. They operate day service to make an night service, why cant they hold the bus the entire day to operate like KSRTC is doing.

During day time i have traveled in Trichy-Bangalore and Tirupati-Trichy.

The bangalore one was accupied only by mid way guys and end to end was only 5.
In tirupati one the night one came late in the morning and crew changed and took an hour late at tirupati and it also had only 8 persons to trichy including mid way pax. Including 4 in owr family. Since the bus was runing late and as we 4 planned to get down there itself, he let the bus directly to the depot and the remaining 4 were altered with other chennai bus to bus stand. And the same bus is to do the night service after maintanence.

So the rest time for the bus is 2 hrs in tirupati and around 3-4hrs in trichy. If they run in such a way how would be maintanence and standard?

Few years back there were not these many day services. for example there was no day service from bangalore to coimbatore erode karur and so on.
But during the last government they introduces these day services. thats also once reason the buses were worn out so soon. Can you imagine a bus running non stop? morning startiing from bangalore and reaching coimbatore at night and night again starting from coimbatore at night. with such bad maintenance from SETC how can we expect those bus to be in good quality?

When i asked about this to one known driver of mine why is the day service running when the patronage is so less.he told that the government has given 3000(i dont remember this no may be 9000 in whole transport) new jobs in setc and where to employ all these new staffs when there are no new buses and no expansion of division? thats the reason for those day services. and its be continuing now too

If they stop their day time services with less than 50% occupancy, their losses would have come down by atleast 30% and they would not have incurred additional costs on refurbishing and maintaining the buses. It was too bad that the earlier government recruited only Drivers and Conductors and no technical staff.

Anand,
even though this suggestion looks good, there are few complex situations here.

1. If the buses are idle during day time, then its TNSTC will become the monopoly. So SETC should operate in a way during day time on good profitable route, with good timings and good fare.
2. currently SETC fair is higher than TNSTC bus fair. so what is the advantage a passenger will get by opting for TNSTC during day time? all SETC, TNSTC operates on same speed.. no additional luxury.
3. its time, SETC has to get back to their old glory days of "thiruvalluvar"... it was fast service. ofcourse monopoly in long distance route.
4. its upto TN Govt, transport minister, SETC MD to decide on bring out the "difference of benefits" between SETC and TNSTC... with the justification of fare.
5. so either SETC has to make their own brand by luxury, speed, punctuality, their services or long distance TNSTC has to give up their services to SETC.

You are right. What they can do is:
1. Add all the buses to OTRS. (Currently all the buses are not available for OTRS from SETC.)
They must add intermediate boarding points and destinations. Currently, buses SETC buses that pass via Neyveli, there is no e-ticketing option available with people who board / get-down at neyveli. Also, they loose a good amount of passengers for not adding boarding points in some big cities.

2. They can combine two buses as a single bus, when occupancy in both the buses are less than 50%.

But with Speed Restrictions and routes that consume more time during the day time, it results in frequent delays and wear and tear. A bus must rest at its depot for atleast 5 hrs after a long overnight journey, which most of the PDY depot buses dont do.

But Speed restirction in these AC buses is a utter waste. I spotted 3 AC Coaches from TNSTC TNV, which were operating at around 60/70. The old PRTC bus (before induction of a new UD) overtook three of those before Tirchy.

Arul, This is to connect small towns like Bommidi, Papireddipatty in Dharmapuri district with Coimbatore. There are quite a frequent services from Salem to Dharmapuri via Papireddipatty, Bommidi and Kadaththur.

Since a Dharmapuri - Kadathur - Coimbatore service will not serve End to End passengers, they might have made it a Coimbatore - Kadathur service.

This service may likely get extended to Dharmapuri in the same route after some time.

18 injured as town bus rams another

THANJAVUR: A town bus rammed a newly inaugurated intercity bus in Thanjavur hours after attending the inauguration ceremony at Punnainallur Mariamman temple. Around 18 persons travelling in the town bus suffered injuries in the mishap, which occurred near the Tolkappier Square in Thanjavur on Saturday.
Sources said the intercity bus was on its way to the old bus stand SETC depot, when the driver applied brakes, unaware of the situation a town bus rammed the intercity bus injuring 18 passengers.� The injured later rushed to Thanjavur Medical College hospital for treatment. �
Thanjavur town traffic police are investigating the incident. The intercity bus scheduled to start service from Pattukottai to Chennai from Saturday night. �
Meanwhile Housing Minister R Vaithilingam and collector K Baskaran passing on the route from Mariamman temple got down from their car and helped the injured. Later, they initiated officials to admit injured people to TMCH.

There was no route from SETC in Virudhunagar-Chennai route. I have confirmed with some of our forum members already.

This route, Chennai - Virudhunagar, was there long ago during the TTC (Thiruvalluvar transport corp.) era. A pair of Semi-Deluxe bus was operated by Tirunelveli depot. In fact route number was same, 182. I have travelled in that bus during my college days (1988). After reaching Virudhunagar, it will run as Virudhunagar - Tirunelveli service. TTC also operated a pair of bus in Chennai - Kovilpatti route. In those days only TTC was allowed to operate in routes exceeding 250 KM. However other transport corp. were allowed to operate few buses from their headquarters to Chennai. PRC operated a pair of Semi-deluxe and Super-Deluxe (equvalent to present UD) buses from Madurai to Chennai. Nesamony operated from Nagercoil to Chennai and Kattabomman from Tirunelveli to Chennai Tondiarpet.

Semi-deluxe buses (2x2) are comfortable for over-night journeys compared to (3x2) ordinaries. One can sleep comfortably. Previous govt. spoiled every thing by allowing ordinary buses to operate in long distance routes. Instead of advancing in modernisation, comfort etc., we are moving in reverse direction. Really I miss those TTC buses

Thanks the valuable info about VNR-Chennai route. So TTC is bringing back their good old routes??

Yes, previous DMK govt and even during 2001-2006 ADMK rule was also responsible for this long distance 3X2 routes.

I hope we will get back those good days of TTC.
