Szczecin is situated in the north-west Poland, just 150 km from Berlin. Although it lays 60 km from the sea, Szczecin is one of the major sea ports of Poland - the river Oder meets the Baltic Sea through Szczecin Lagoon.

Its architectural construction is often compared with the capital of France - Paris. The heart of the city is a star-shaped square, with diverging alleys. Comparison with Paris has one more reason - Szczecin was designed by G.E. Haussmann, who created town planning project for the French capital.

WALY CHROBREGO

This part of the city is best to be admired during the spring - you may take a long walk along the green trees on this beautiful embankment. It's a great place to have a view on the whole Szczecin and its surroundings. Waly Chrobrego were constructed in 1873, and from that time are a popular meeting place for all the citizens of Szczecin. It is also a place where many important institutions are situated - on the huge terrace you can find the Maritime University (Wyzsza Szkola Morska) and the National Museum (Muzeum Narodowe). During the spring and summer time many festivals are organized here, so you cannot miss them.

Nope, it's the Maritime University (Wyzsza Szkola Morska) and this building on the left is the National Museum (Muzeum Narodowe).
