Since the thirties, Casablanca has always had a very lively nightlife. This festive spirit has now spread to the nearby seaside resorts.


The Aïn-Diab coast, the seaside annex of the city, is the traditional spot for inhabitants of Casablanca going out for the evening, especially at weekends. Trendy restaurants and popular pubs abound along the seafront. Some of these establishments, with or without seawater swimming pools, are there since the thirties, like an unusual restaurant built on piles. The atmosphere is so cosmopolitan that it is as easy to find a sushi restaurant as one specialised in Moroccan dishes. The discotheques open later on in the evening. Everyone will find one to his taste, from the latest techno to North African music. Boulevard Mohammed V, in the city centre, is full of restaurants, some of which have kept their 1920's decoration. Another curiosity: you can have a drink in a perfectly recreated copy of the famous café in the film Casablanca.


Mohammedia, situated 28km north of Casablanca, is very popular with businessmen. The resort has developed a vast infrastructure of hotels and discotheques. Bouznika Bay, 20km further north, is a renowned seaside resort with magnificent beaches and an intense nightlife.

Le Carré est un ancien cinema transformé en boite, pub et restaurant apès l'ouverture du Megarama!
Le Petit Rocher est un pub branché en bas du phare de Casa et en face de la mosquée! Il a une vue panoramique sur la ville!

Le Bao, premier night-club afro du Maroc

Créé en 2007 par un groupe d’entrepreneurs africains, le Bao est la première discothèque afro du Maroc. La boite casablancaise, où viennent se bousculer étudiants, chefs d’entreprises et cadres africains de multinationales, ne désemplit pas les week-ends. C’est une affaire rentable, se réjouit Adama Koné, jeune manager du night-club.
Si vous vous trouvez à Casablanca et avez envie d’une sortie afro, une seule adresse : le Bao, sur le boulevard de la Corniche. C’est la première et unique discothèque africaine (subsaharienne s’entend) au Maroc. De la Makossa camerounaise, au Kpangor en vogue à Abidjan, en passant par le Ndombolo congolais, le Bao vous plonge dans une ambiance 100% afro. Et « c’est la raison pour laquelle on fait le plein tout le temps », se réjouit Adama Koné, le manager du night-club, où viennent se mêler chaque week-end étudiants, cadres africains de multinationales, chefs d’entreprises et autres VIP. Aux platines, se relayent les scratcheurs les plus en vue du moment, à l’instar de Dj Lewis, quasi-inventeur du très osé Kpangor.

Le Bao a été créé il y a deux ans par un petit groupe d’entrepreneurs africains, en même temps qu’un restaurant spécialisé dans la cuisine africaine, la Casbah. Le Bao est une affaire qui marche. « C’est rentable, ça bouge bien », commente, sans s’encombrer de chiffres, Adama Koné. Le jeune homme, qui a intégré le night-club il y a un an, à peine sa licence en éco-gestion en poche, estime toutefois « difficile l’intégration dans un bon réseau d’affaires ». La faute aux « préjugés et à un climat de méfiance mutuelle » entre la communauté subsaharienne et marocaine. Mais cela ne l’a pas empêché de créer récemment son agence d’événementiel, Akn Event’s. « Le Maroc reste un carrefour touristique important et le seul pays qui n’a pas connu la crise au Maghreb », analyse le manager du Bao. Adama Koné estime que plus de 90% de sa clientèle est constituée de subsahariens. Un public qu’il aimerait plus diversifié. « Le Bao, insiste-t-il, est ouvert à tous ! »

le maroc doit etre comme le maroc de demain sans rupture avec son authencité. mais si tu veux etre comme la france aaabbbccc, il faut que tu soit prét de se croiser avec ta petite soeur à moitié nue qui dance sur la piste et que tu applaudi trés fort surout que son copain de la soirée va etre à coté pour lui faire un french kiss ( comme la france tu dis) aprés qu'elle finisse, si tu me dira que ça te poserai pas de prob donc tu merite du respect puisque tu assume et tu interdit pas à une femme ce que tu aime faire.

i know buddy i was born and grew up in casa ;)

je pense que l'on devrait etre assez libre et ne pas etre vraiment trop trop exigeant avec des histoires de moeurs . comme on dis vers chez moi un mouton tu le laisse dans le paysage il va se balader tranquilement , si tu lui met une barriere il va y faire attention et il va vouloir la sauté mdrrr .
il faut essayer de trouver un equilibre mais je suis contre la debauche . tu vois les meufs comment elle s'habillent dans ma fac .... OLalalalalaa elles s'habillent sans s'habiller loool .
tout ce qui est expression de l'amour dans les espaces publics aussi ca m'inssuporte assez .
enfin bon je pense que l'equilibre entre respect des traditions et volont& des jeunes de naturellement vouloir s'amuser un peu est assez fragile .
J'ai juste peur que le Maroc abandonne tous ses fondamentaux au profit d'uneo ccidentalisation démesuré !!

eh mais faut arreter avec votre mentalité à deux balles là.

le mec parle du maroc francisé en donnant l'exemple d'un type et sa soeur en boite! faut arreter mec... meme en france, il y a du respect. toutes les filles ou femmes du monde ont des principes mais ça differe, et dans toutes les societés et les communautés existent des personnes qui font l'exception ( certaines qui osent ! ) et on n'y peut rien.

les types qui font les choqués des filles qui s'habillent librement comment elles veulent sont loin d'avoir une forte personnalité. pretextant après avoir halluciné que ça devrait être interdit parce qu'on est dans un pseudo pays musulman. il faut arreter là, imaginez que la fille vienne le voir juste après, lui demandant de passer un moment tendre avec, ça serait quoi la reponse ? un rejet ? reveillez vous ! arretez de faire les frustrés à deux balles !!

chacun s'habille comme il veut, chacun fait ce qu'il fait. t'es musulman ? Genial, continue à être un bon musulman, va au paradis, et fait pas chier les autres tout simplement parce que t'as un probleme psychologique.

ceci dit, que je ne denigre point les religions, au contraire je defend les religions. Et c'est saoulant d'avoir probleme juste avec ces gens qui melent la religion à leurs frustrations !

là, on est sur des photos d'Evenements à Casablanca. Toi qui parle d'authencité du Maroc, tu devrais donc logiquement parler d'authencité de chaque ville. connaitrais tu peut etre l'histoire de Casablanca ?
Casablanca est venue avec le marechal Lyautey, le sens qu'a le mot Casablanca quand on l'evoque à été baptisé par le marechal Lyautey, par des français, par des italiens,... etc. déjà que depuis les année 70', la ville a été envahie par les ploucs qui viennent ici pour travailler et que ça ne resemble deja plus à Casablanca qu'était avant. il faudrait peut etre songer de cesser d'empirer les choses encore plus qu'elles ne le sont !
tu veux de l'authencité orientale ? va dans les vieilles villes imperiales et arabes ( Fes, Marrakech, Meknes... etc ). Mais Casablanca restera toujours comme elle est et devra redevenir comme elle était.

Where may i find a decent alternative club or bar playing hiphop, ska, punk or even alternative electronic music in Casa? I would not mind some traditional arabic or berber music. Maybe some life music without that well dressed snob people and stupid security stuff? I am looking for just some very relaxed place you not need to dress with white shirt and put gel in your hair.

Marrakech is the place to go there is a type of club for every type of person in Casablanca ask casamor I am not sure but do hear there are 5 types of clubs in Casablanca
1 the shit hole cheap places with some sluts no class and too many fights
2 the snobs where you have to be " perfect "
3 the gay friendly clubs
4 the relaxed / international / bars / lounges
5 the house / drum bass beach / rave clubs
this is what I heard from people in Casablanca

We have some very nice pubs/bars in Casablanca (all kinds) but only 1 nightclub (Carré), that's why we all go to Marrakech to party! ;)

Not really, they're all small except Carré! Marrakech is way better than Casa!
