(les sultants y accrochaient les têtes de leurs ennemis). La Ville Nouvelle des années 1920, due à Lyautey : Larges avenues, qques bâtiments Art nouveau/mauresque (PTT). Grande Mosquée et haut minaret XVIII° s., plusieurs fois restaurés. Cathédrale St Pierre 1930 (influence andalouse). Mausolée de Mohammed V, imposant sarcophage sous une kouba. Tour Hassan du XII° s. (similitude avec la Koutouba), minaret d'une mosquée, reste l'emplacement de la Salle des Prières hérissée de départs de troncs de colonnes ; 16 m x 16 m, 44 m hauteur, murs 2m,50 épaisseur ; rampe en pente douce (cavaliers) ; riche décor extérieur. Le Palais Royal, cité isolée avec enceinte ds la Ville Nouvelle : palais proprement dit (moderne) et bâtiments attachés : à l'extérieur : caserne de la garde royale, long méchoir, champ de courses. Jardin exubérant avec coupoles de marabouts, bassin aux anguilles sacrées. Cité antique de Sala, suite de la nécropole. Cité romaine(1er s. av. J.-C./IV° s. ap. J.-C.). Vestiges (peu apparents) se situant de part et d'autre du Decumanus Maximus. Arc de triomphe (piliers), basilique, capitole latéral sur éminence, statues et stèles dédicatoires, temple dominant ; nymphée avec bassin à niches (bien conservé).
