They look like in the mountains, because I see the sea of clouds in the first pic :). So they may be in the north?

A few weeks back I dropped in at The Cliff, Ao Nang for a little look-see. The manager showed us one of the vacant rooms ... very nice, and a good price as well. Love the private outdoor shower.
We had dinner at The Cliff restaurant, a fusion of Thai & western cuisine, it was ok, nothing to brag about

I love the inland forests etc even better than the beaches. Also that dash of culture adds spice to it all. Do you also have the sorry to say it but.. what the world call 'tribal' people living there ?
I think I will have to visit Thailand for sure.. not sure when though cos I don't have the money :(

If U like forrest , you will enjoy thailand, we have colorful spring forrest in the north and evergreen rain forrest in the south..

..which obviously means you too got tribal people who live in the forests. Yes I like the forests.. and in fact the landscape between our forests and yours are similar too.. no wonder scenes from the film Bridge on River Kwai was shot in Sri Lanka ! :)

Yes The negritos of Thailand's deep South. They are now in the rain forest in the province bordering Malaysia.
