Messy design. It needs a second color to bring it to life.
Right now it only looks alive because it is still very clean, but once that period is over, it's likely to become "Yet Another Eyesore In Mainland China".

I think the design is very, very interesting. Lots of classical forms such as cornices surrounding the base of the crown, below those, corner shapes that remind me of Chicgoan inspired early 20th Century architecture and although the turret at the top is modern, it is reminiscent of New York deco structures.

A lot happening in the middle too. From its arched windows at the top, gentle glass curves as well as flat glass cladding gracing the tower from top to bottom and many of the corners are glass enclosed too.

I like the colouring indeed. I think it would often shine gold basking in the sunlight.

Apart from the crown/spire, just from the only night pic, the rest of the tower isn't lit very well.

Not sure what I think about the base, but I'm more than sure it serves a few puposes.

Overall, better than most designs that are coming out of China.

7.5/10 - It has good height, and the chamfered corners and cornices near the top help give it a bit of veriety; there's also good contrast between the gently curved glass of the center sections and the "striped" glass and spandrels of the corners.

But the best thing I can say about the roof is that it looks better lit up at night, although at least it's not flat. It just doesn't seem to flow naturally from the rest of the building. I'm also not sure about the base, and perhaps a strongly contrasting color might be a good foil for the dominant gold.

I don't care for it. It's okay to have a gold bldg but this is just too much. Maybe it works in Shenzen but it'd look ridiculous in many cities. If someone tried to build this on the Detroit River, they'd be laughed at. The top doesn't seem well-suited to the tower either. Needs some sort of contrast in color to keep it from looking cheap. This one fails.

OK, if the light is not good, and if you look too closely, it definitely has a not-so-cool residential look, but then what would you expect ?
From far away it just looks completely awesome ^^
And yeah, that spire could only have been golden, and golden on top of any other color would have been awfully tacky, so it had to be golden all the way ^^

I stand by what I said, it is absolutely awesome !
I'll try to post some more pics of it later. It's incredibly golden, so much in fact that it doesn't look real when viewed from a distance, even you're looking at it with your own eyes ! Well it's also pretty cool seen from up-close.
