The Grand Palace complex was established in 1782 and it houses not only the royal residences and throne halls, but also a number of government offices as well as the renowned Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

In November last year (2003), I had the privilege to go to Bangkok and to visit the Grand Palace. Here's some pictures I took of this imposing palace complex.......enjoy...... ;)

- Phra Siratana Chedi (the golden chedi which its shaped based on Burmese Chedi

- Phra Mondop (a repository for Buddhist sacred scriptures which is based on traditional Thai architecture)

All those tiles must have taken forever to paste onto the building

I give it 8.5/10 It seems to be nice mix of European and Asian Architecture!!!

Still can't decide if I like those or not. :dunno:
