First a few quick facts of Santo Domingo and then the pictures.


It's the capital of the Dominican Republic and with 3 million people in its metropolitan area, its the largest city in the Caribbean.
It's the oldest European built city in the Western Hemisphere, and the first city to receive Africans in the Western Hemisphere.
It's one of the few metropolis with a mulatto majority population, and its the largest Spanish speaking city in the world with a predominantly Afro-Hispanic population.
Its a major tourist destination.
