I'm not a fan of massive concrete viaducts, as theyre pretty brutal -but they seem to complement the landscape in areas outside the city better...anyway I think one of the nicer vehicular bridges is the Esplanade Bridge. I'm not a fan of massive concrete viaducts, as theyre pretty brutal -but they seem to complement the landscape in areas outside the city better...anyway I think one of the nicer vehicular bridges is the Esplanade Bridge. It was taken some time back; Seng Kang LRT. Concrete viaduct structures do have its own form and brand of elegance. May be it is also an acquired taste. RafflesCity August 14th, 2009, 06:23 AM Yep concrete structures have a megalithic appearance and to me their nature can symbolize boldness, and from some points of view, progress too :) Garden city concept applied to MRT viaduct structure: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v133/RafflesCity/green0809.jpg CityGlide August 14th, 2009, 07:37 AM [QUOTE=RafflesCity;41258876]Yep concrete structures have a megalithic appearance and to me their nature can symbolize boldness, and from some points of view, progress too :) Garden city concept applied to MRT viaduct structure: yes That is nice. I like green among concrete structure or building. It's so massive. Good thing it's painted white along with other flyovers instead of being left in natural concrete finish eX.A.K.R. October 7th, 2011, 01:14 PM OK, who bumped a two-year old thread? AzMean October 8th, 2011, 08:37 PM Must say Telok Blangah viaduct is scary. It's so massive. Good thing it's painted white along with other flyovers instead of being left in natural concrete finish try standing on it.. i mean.. on the viaduct itself, at the side. That bridge wobbles everytime a prime mover passes by. even Benjamin Sheares Bridge doesnt shake dat much. |
