This one has grown from a 12storey proposal to over 20storeys.
The site is a small one hidden behind AMEX tower or behind the new Common apats uc atm and adjacent to new Alberta st apats.
Its a 22 storeys residential tower with ground retail and site link arcade.
I think its a fab looking tower with striking elements. The architects are Marchese. Im pretty sure its the winner of the design comp? no model yet but not long off.
The top has a slopped roof facing south instead of the normal north. There is a ladder type structure which reaches approx 100m high. Its a particular difficult site which no- one has bothered to develope due to being shadowed by the AMEX and dark and dingy position, but the area is popular now and tide has turned!

Excellent! looks great! I had never expected to see anything of decent size in such an out of the way location, so it's great to see such a cool little design! :)

It took me ages looking at the model just to figure out where Alberta St was...
That's getting to be a real dense little pocket of city living around there! How about the big gap between it and AMEX, what's allowable there?

Good design. This end of town is in need of a good scraper and this is the answer.

Huh? So why did por old Nation's Alberta St Apts. get chopped to half the size while this one was allowed to double in height? :?
Irregularities within the council or because one is on that side of the road, the other on the other side of the road?
Also, what's a "site link arcade" in this case? Does it mean a link to Museum Station or to Liverpool St or....? :?

@randwicked- i suppose a bldg of 12-15 storeys maybe? it depends.
@muse-nations alberta apts was a small site. and had issues with adjacent 5m wide laneway., also this new one takes up 3 propertie's and takes up floor space from nearby park on Nithsdale st.Thats the site link that goes through to Alberta st.

No surprise. Alberta St is cursed.
I'm looking at a map of Alberta St from the 1930s and it was pretty full of double-storey terraces.

It should have stayed that way until someone was ready to either build or allow 100 metre + towers there. The area would have been quaint, at least.

the full height of 63m will equal the height of adjacent Common apartments. it sure will be dense in that little pocket

What's gunna be built on that L-shaped block? This one will disappear completely.
CULWULLA
July 13th, 2004, 02:06 AM
its maximum height for the small pocket of land it occupies.
the L shaped land is a park and it is a roof for an underground carpark. it will never be built on!

The proposed Federal Police Centre in Goulburn Street makes this one look small and that tower is just 110 metres tall.
I cannot believe that such a nice tower is tucked away surrounded by the towers of Liverpool Street including the AMEX Building while more horrid towers get their place in the skyline. How unfair :bash:

Apologies for all the grey... the people who made the web site are obviously unaware of how to set a background colour.

Onya vag!! :okay:
It's a real little pocket down there.
Doesn't make up for the loss of their 40-storey proposal a stone's throw away on Goulburn that fro posted in the Meriton Tower thread.....but not bad for a little-y.

Well, this has been appearing in ads in the likes of the SMH & Fin Rev's property pages over the last 3-4 weeks. Along with a pic of the render above the advert states:
FOR SALE
PRE COMPLETION
INVESTMENT
OPPORTUNITY
Sydney CBD Location
11-15 Alberta Street
+ 20 + 10 + 10 yr lease
+ Nationally recognised Public Company Tenant
+ 79 Keyed serviced apartments
+ Due for completion end 2009
+ Commencement rent 1.817 million net
+ Price on application
^^ As far as the above point stating that it is "Due for completion end 2009", well I passed the exact site only last week and there was no movement yet at all! :ohno:
