Khun archstudent, The green island you see is Bang Kra Jao -> the green island with orchard in Phra Padaeng (opposite to Klong Toei Port) Another green island wouyld be Koh Kret in Pakkret District of Nonthaburi. :angel1:

The small lake is Bang Phra Reservior, the main source of water supply for Eastern region.

the delta of Chao Phraya looks pretty murky though ... :bleep:  :bash:

This is not the most recent one since this one hasn't shown the 2nd runway of Suvannabhum Airport.

What are the dark green areas? Forests? Irrigated land?

What I think is cool is Prapa Daeng which is like a piece of countryside, seemingly remote but yet so close to the port and central Bkk.

Chao Praya has always been that color (or brown) if I'm not mistaken, it's not a result of human activity. Same color in Mekong northern Laos which is scarsely populated

That green area is full of fruits-farming, canals and forest......yet it's the biggest green area in bankok without any irritation from the world outside and modernization......:)

Its not polluted, Bangkok lies in the Tropical latitude and tropical rivers are brown with mud.

and its more muddy than others because that river is filled with boats.

Description: This radar image shows the dramatic landscape in the Phang Hoei Range of north central Thailand, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) northeast of the city of Lom Sak. The plateau, shown in green to the left of center, is the area of Phu Kradung National Park. This plateau is a remnant of a once larger plateau, another portion of which is seen along the right side of the image. The plateaus have been dissected by water erosion over thousands of years. Forest areas appear green on the image; agricultural areas and settlements appear as red and blue. North is toward the lower right. The area shown is 38 by 50 kilometers (24 by 31 miles) and is centered at 16.96 degrees north latitude, 101.67 degrees east longitude. Colors are assigned to different radar frequencies and polarizations as follows: red is L-band horizontally transmitted and horizontally received; green is L- band horizontally transmitted and vertically received; blue is C- band horizontally transmitted and vertically received. The image was acquired by the Spaceborne Imaging Radar-C/X-band Synthetic Aperture (SIR-C/X- SAR) imaging radar on October 3, 1994, when it flew aboard the space shuttle Endeavour. SIR-C/X-SAR is a joint mission of the U.S./German and Italian space agencies

Really Pon? I would have guessed even more pools in that area because (a) of the heat in Bangkok and (b) every condo building, serviced apartment, larger housing compound and hotel that I can think of (at least in the central zone) has one :) Some pools are hidden under a roof or covering at some buildings:|

200MB hard-disk space
3D graphics card: 3D-capable video card with 16MB VRAM
1024x768, 32-bit true color screen
Network speed: 128 kbps ("Broadband/Cable Internet")
