Reggae Boyz Ja September 2nd, 2009, 06:48 AM #4 did a african team actually make the finals?? Cuz I know Cameroon made the quarters in 1990 WC..
african biohazard September 2nd, 2009, 08:19 AM I think Ronaldo initially said he had an upset stomach, but the team doctor's report said convulsions. I know Mario Zagalo left him off the team sheet only to put him back on 30 minutes before kick-off. Consipiracy theories prevail on this one!
As for Cameroon. The issue was the use of sleeveless football kit. Fifa ordered them to have their kit ammended. The rule-book is pretty clear so I don't know what Cameroon and their then sponsorts, Puma, were thinking?

ZATUGA September 3rd, 2009, 04:05 PM with google it's pretty simple
1. Why did England decline to participate in the pre-war World Cups?
over payments to amateur players. The four British associations quit FIFA in 1928 after a disagreement with FIFA over 'broken time payments' to amateur players. They rejoined FIFA in 1946, and participated in World Cup for the first time in 1950.
2.What country has participated in each qualifying competition but never qualified for any finals?
Luxembourg. From 1934 to 2001, Luxembourg have played 92 qualifying matches and lost 88, scoring 45 goals and conceding 308.
3.Iraq's defender Barmeer Shaker was given a 1-year suspension by FIFA after a 1986 World Cup match. Why?
for spitting at the referee
4.Why was Chile banned to participate in the 1994 qualifying competition?
It all came about because a Chilean goalkeeper faked his injury in a qualifying match. In a decisive qualifier in Brazil on 3 September 1989, Brazil were leading 1-0 with 23 minutes left. In an attempt to disqualify the match, the Chilean goalkeeper Roberto Rojas pretended to have been hit and seriously hurt by the firecrackers thrown from the Brazilian crowd. The whole Chilean team walked off in protest, and the match was abandoned. FIFA later discovered the hoax from TV and awarded Brazil a 2-0 victory, banned Rojas for life and banned Chile from the 1994 World Cup.
5.What was the good luck ritual did Belgium goalkeeper Michael Preud'homme abandoned at USA 94?
of wearing a Standard Leige shirt (his first club) under his national jersey because of the heat.

3.Iraq's defender Barmeer Shaker was given a 1-year suspension by FIFA after a 1986 World Cup match. Why?

4.Why was Chile banned to participate in the 1994 qualifying competition?
A fake injury to their goalie in a match prior to the tournament.
5.What was the good luck ritual did Belgium goalkeeper Michael Preud'homme abandoned at USA 94?
