The temple of amun was considered both holy in ancient Egypt and Nubia and its location in Nubia allowed the nubian pharoahs to make a claim to be the legitimate hiers of the Egyptian as well as the nubian throwns, thereore ushering in the 25th nubian dynasty that ruled over all of Egypt and nubia.

this is nuri but its so close to jebal barkal that its somewtimes included as part of it.

That would be nice.. Sennar (or Sinnar), once the capital of the Funj Dynasty(Blue Sultanate) in central Sudan.

Wadi Halfa, Dongola, Atbara, Shendi and Kosti are also cities/towns that deserve threads.

sadly what remains of wadi halfa is simply a small port and a few rest houses, most of the old residents of halfa were relocated to new halfa in eastern sudan and kassala.
today the primary city of northern state is dongola.

You will be surprised kitayabi when you watch the movie, you'll hear nothing about Sudan.

The movie is about Taharqa
And when you google it (Taharqa OR Taharka; Taharqo; Tarku; Tarakos; Tirhaka) most of the results refer to him as:

King of Cush and Ancient Egypt 690-664 BCE, 36 years, the 4th ruler of the 25th Dynasty of Egypt. Taharqa is referred to as King of Ethiopia in the Bible.

But with all do respect to Will Smith and his movie and google:


This place (Gebel barkal or Nuri or Karima) is where Kingdom of Kush used to be,
