Jakarta, 20 August 2009 – Aston International continues to grow its three star Aston City Hotel brand by signing a management agreement for the Aston Soll Marina City Hotel on Sumatra’s Bangka Island. The new property is the 10th hotel to become a member of Indonesia’s fastest growing 3 star hotel group and will feature 120 modern and functional rooms and several meeting rooms as well as a contemporary café and Karaoke entertainment facilities.
Bangka Island is the largest island of Indonesia’s Bangka Belitung province and is located East of Sumatra half way between Jakarta and Singapore making it a popular business, meeting and vacation spot for the region and one of Indonesia’s fastest growing hotspots.
Norbert Vas, Aston International’s VP of Sales & Marketing said “The Aston City Hotel brand has struck a nerve with frequent business travelers by prioritizing on what really counts and makes a hotel a winner – the basic 3 Bs. The 3 Bs are Bed, Bath and Breakfast and Aston City Hotels strive to offer the very best sleeping, bathroom and breakfast experience in the 3 star segment and outperform many 4 star hotels”
Aston International started the Aston City Hotels 2 years ago in Pekanbaru and since then developers are rushing in to build them. Besides the already operational hotels in Pekanbaru, Ketapang and Manado the Aston group will open additional Aston City hotels this year in Jakarta-Cengkareng, Bandung, Samarinda, Tanjung, Palembang and Karimun and has several others projects in its business development pipeline.
About Aston International
Aston entered the Indonesian market in the late nineties and has an underlying portfolio consisting of 40 properties including hotels, resorts, serviced apartments and boutique villa resorts, of which 20 are operational and 20 under development due to open between now and 2011.
Aston properties currently operate under the 5 star Grand Aston, 4 star Aston and 3 star Aston City Hotel brands but the company is also developing Life Style Designer Hotels under the Royal Alana and Alana brand, Luxury Villa resorts under the Royal Kamuela and Kamuela brands and 3 star hotels under the affordable lifestyle Quest Hotel brand as well as 2 star favehotel.
The first luxury Royal Kamuela Villa resort is due to open in May 2010 in Nusa Dua - Bali and the first 3 star Quest Hotels are under construction in the Indonesian City of Semarang and in Bali’s Kuta. 2 star favehotels are envisioned to open in literally every major Indonesian city with the first one due to open in September in Denpasar Bali.
With a proven track record of success, Aston has a very definitive vision of the future - to be universally recognized as the preferred hospitality management company in the Asia Pacific.
