Even before the dust settles across Asia after the longest solar eclipse since 1991 (lasting about 6 minutes and 39 second) earlier this month, The Adven*ture Company, a tour firm based in the UK, is already planning trips for the next eclipse expected to take place in Kenya in 2010. According to the company, the next ‘central observation line’ of the eclipse will be on the shores of Lake Nakuru, which will experience an annular eclipse lasting around eight and a half minutes.
For $2,259, the company will take holiday makers on a nine-day trip to Kenya beginning 9th January 2010.
The fee includes flights, all meals, transfers, park fees and local guides. Dinner in the hotel on the first night and all alcoholic drinks are not included. This also pres*ents an opportunity for the local tourism industry to develop similar or better packages targeting domestic tourists.
